1¡Abre tus puertas, Líbano,
para que el fuego devore tus cedros!
2¡Gime tú, ciprés, porque los cedros se han caído
y los majestuosos árboles se han derrumbado!
¡Giman, encinas de Basán!
¡Los tupidos bosques han sido derribados!
3Escuchen el gemido de los pastores,
porque sus ricos pastizales han sido destruidos.
Escuchen el rugido de los leones,
porque la espesura del Jordán ha quedado devastada.
Los dos pastores
4Así dice el Señor mi Dios: «Cuida de las ovejas destinadas al matadero. 5Quienes las compran las matan impunemente y quienes las venden dicen: “¡Bendito sea el Señor, porque me he enriquecido!”. Ni sus propios pastores se compadecen de ellas. 6Pero ya no tendré piedad de los que habitan este país —afirma el Señor—, sino que los entregaré en manos de su prójimo y de su rey. Aunque devasten el país, no los rescataré de sus manos».
7Así que me dediqué a pastorear las ovejas que habían sido destinadas al matadero, las oprimidas del rebaño. Tomé dos varas de pastor: a una le puse por nombre Gracia y a la otra Unión. Luego me dediqué a cuidar del rebaño. 8En un solo mes me deshice de tres pastores.
Pero las ovejas me detestaron y yo me cansé de ellas. 9Así que les dije:11:8-9 me cansé … les dije. Alt. me cansé de los pastores, y ellos se hastiaron de mí. 9 Así que les dije a las ovejas. «Ya no voy a ser su pastor. Las que se vayan a morir, que se mueran; las que deban perecer, que perezcan; y las que queden con vida, que se devoren unas a otras».
10Tomé entonces la vara a la que había llamado Gracia y la quebré. De ese modo anulé el pacto que había hecho con todas las naciones. 11En aquel mismo día, el pacto quedó anulado. Las ovejas oprimidas que me observaban supieron que se trataba de la palabra del Señor.
12Les dije: «Si les parece bien, páguenme mi salario; de lo contrario, quédense con él». Y me pagaron solo treinta piezas de plata.11:12 treinta piezas de plata. Lit. treinta [siclos] de plata.
13Entonces el Señor me dijo: «¡Vaya precio con el que me han valorado! Entrega eso al alfarero». Así que tomé las treinta piezas de plata y se las di al alfarero del Templo del Señor.
14Quebré luego la segunda vara, a la que había llamado Unión, y anulé el vínculo fraternal entre Judá e Israel. 15El Señor me dijo entonces: «Vístete ahora como uno de esos pastores insensatos, 16porque voy a levantar sobre el país a un pastor que no se preocupará por las ovejas moribundas, ni buscará a las ovejas pequeñas, ni curará a las ovejas heridas, ni dará de comer a las ovejas sanas, sino que devorará a las más gordas y les arrancará las pezuñas».
17¡Ay del pastor inútil
que abandona su rebaño!
¡Que la espada hiera su brazo
y le saque el ojo derecho!
¡Que el brazo quede tullido
y el ojo derecho, ciego!
1Lebanon, open your doors!
Then fire can burn up your cedar trees.
2Juniper trees, cry out!
The cedar trees have fallen down.
The majestic trees are destroyed.
Cry out, you oak trees of Bashan!
The thick forest has been cut down.
3Listen to the shepherds cry out!
Their rich grasslands are destroyed.
Listen to the lions roar!
The trees and bushes along the Jordan River are gone.
The Two Shepherds
4The Lord my God says, “Take care of the sheep that are set apart to be sacrificed. 5Those who buy them kill them. And they are not punished for it. Those who sell them say, ‘Praise the Lord! We’re rich!’ And their own shepherds do not spare them. 6I will no longer have pity on the people in the land,” announces the Lord. “I will hand all of them over to their neighbors and their king. They will destroy the land. And I will not save anyone from their power.”
7So I took care of the sheep set apart to be sacrificed. I took special care of those that had been treated badly. Then I got two shepherd’s staffs. I called one of them Favor. I called the other one Union. And I took care of the flock. 8In one month I got rid of three worthless shepherds.
The sheep hated me, and I got tired of them. 9So I said, “I won’t be your shepherd anymore. Let those of you who are dying die. Let those who are passing away pass away. Let those who are left eat one another up.”
10Then I got my staff called Favor. I broke it. That meant the covenant the Lord had made with all the nations was broken. 11It happened that day. The sheep that had been treated badly were watching me. They knew it was the Lord’s message.
12I told them, “If you think it is best, give me my pay. But if you don’t think so, keep it.” So they paid me 30 silver coins.
13The Lord said to me, “Throw those coins to the potter.” That amount shows how little they valued me! So I threw the 30 silver coins to the potter at the Lord’s temple.
14Then I broke my second staff called Union. That broke the family connection between Judah and Israel.
15The Lord said to me, “Now pretend to be a foolish shepherd. Get the things you need. 16I am going to raise up a shepherd over the land. He will not take care of those that are wounded. He will not look for the young ones. He will not heal those that are hurt. He will not feed the healthy ones. Instead, he will eat the best sheep. He will even tear their hooves off.
17“How terrible it will be for that worthless shepherd!
He deserts the flock.
May a sword strike his arm and his right eye!
May his powerful arm become weak!
May his right eye be totally blinded!”
