Condena a los falsos profetas
1La palabra del Señor vino a mí y me dijo: 2«Hijo de hombre, profetiza contra los profetas de Israel que hacen vaticinios según su propia imaginación y diles que escuchen la palabra del Señor. 3Así dice el Señor y Dios: “¡Ay de los profetas insensatos que, sin haber recibido ninguna visión, siguen su propio espíritu! 4Tus profetas, Israel, son como chacales entre las ruinas. 5No han subido a las brechas del muro para repararlo para el pueblo de Israel, para que se mantenga firme en la batalla del día del Señor. 6Sus visiones son falsas y mentirosas sus adivinaciones. Dicen: ‘Lo afirma el Señor’, pero el Señor no los ha enviado; sin embargo, ellos esperan que se cumpla su palabra. 7¿Acaso no son falsas sus visiones, y mentirosas sus adivinaciones, cuando dicen: ‘Lo afirma el Señor’, sin que yo haya hablado?
8»”Por tanto, así dice el Señor y Dios: A causa de sus palabras falsas y visiones mentirosas, aquí estoy contra ustedes, afirma el Señor y Dios. 9Levantaré mi mano contra los profetas; contra aquellos que tienen visiones falsas y ofrecen adivinaciones mentirosas. No participarán en la asamblea de mi pueblo, ni aparecerán sus nombres en los registros de los israelitas, ni entrarán en el país de Israel. Así sabrán ustedes que yo soy el Señor y Dios.
10»”Así es, en efecto. Estos profetas han engañado a mi pueblo diciendo: ‘¡Paz!’, pero no hay paz; construye el muro y lo cubre de cal. 11Di a los que lo cubren con cal que se van a caer, pues vendrá una lluvia torrencial, abundante granizo y viento huracanado. 12Y cuando el muro se haya caído, les preguntarán: ‘¿Dónde está la hermosa fachada?’.
13»”Por tanto, así dice el Señor y Dios: En mi furia desataré un viento huracanado; en mi ira, una lluvia torrencial; en mi furia, granizo destructor. 14Echaré por los suelos el muro con su cobertura de cal; sus endebles cimientos quedarán al descubierto. Y cuando caiga, ustedes perecerán; así sabrán que yo soy el Señor. 15Descargaré mi furia contra el muro y sobre los que la cubrieron con cal. A ustedes les diré que ya no queda muro ni los que lo recubrieron: 16esos profetas de Israel que profetizaban acerca de Jerusalén tenían visiones falsas; les anunciaban visiones de paz, cuando no había paz, afirma el Señor y Dios”.
Condena a las profetisas
17»Y ahora tú, hijo de hombre, enfréntate a las hijas de tu pueblo que profetizan según sus propios delirios. ¡Profetiza contra ellas! 18Adviérteles que así dice el Señor y Dios: “¡Ay de las que hacen objetos de hechicería y velos de varios tamaños para atrapar a la gente!13:18 las que hacen … la gente. Texto de difícil traducción. ¿Acaso creen que pueden atrapar la vida de mi pueblo y salvarse ustedes? 19Ustedes me han profanado delante de mi pueblo por un puñado de cebada y unas migajas de pan. Por las mentiras que dicen, y que mi pueblo cree, se mata a los que no deberían morir y se deja con vida a los que no merecen vivir.
20»”Por tanto, así dice el Señor y Dios: Estoy contra sus hechicerías, con las que ustedes atrapan a la gente como a pájaros. Pero yo los arrancaré de sus brazos y los dejaré libres para volar. 21Rescataré a mi pueblo de esos sortilegios, para que dejen de ser presa en sus manos. Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor. 22Porque ustedes han descorazonado al justo con sus mentiras, sin que yo lo haya afligido. Han alentado al malvado para que no se convierta de su mala conducta y se salve. 23Por eso ya no volverán a tener visiones falsas ni a practicar la adivinación. Yo rescataré a mi pueblo del poder de ustedes y así sabrán que yo soy el Señor”».

10¶ Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter:13.10 a wall: or, a slight wall 11Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it. 12Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it? 13Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it. 14So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 15Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it; 16To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord GOD.
17¶ Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them, 18And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?13.18 armholes: or, elbows 19And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies? 20Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.13.20 to make…: or, into gardens 21Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 22Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:13.22 by…: or, that I should save his life: Heb. by quickening him 23Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
