Quatro Carruagens
1Olhei novamente e vi diante de mim quatro carruagens que vinham saindo do meio de duas montanhas de bronze. 2À primeira estavam atrelados cavalos vermelhos; à segunda, cavalos pretos; 3à terceira, cavalos brancos; e à quarta, cavalos malhados. Todos eram vigorosos. 4Perguntei ao anjo que falava comigo: Que representam estes cavalos atrelados, meu senhor?
5O anjo me respondeu: “Estes são os quatro espíritos6.5 Ou ventos dos céus, que acabam de sair da presença do Soberano de toda a terra. 6A carruagem puxada pelos cavalos pretos vai em direção à terra do norte, a que tem cavalos brancos vai em direção ao ocidente6.6 Hebraico: vai atrás deles., e a que tem cavalos malhados vai para a terra do sul”.
7Os vigorosos cavalos avançavam, impacientes por percorrer a terra. E o anjo lhes disse: “Percorram toda a terra!” E eles foram.
8Então ele me chamou e disse: “Veja, os que foram para a terra do norte deram repouso ao meu Espírito6.8 Ou espírito naquela terra”.
A Coroa de Josué
9E o Senhor me ordenou: 10“Tome prata e ouro dos exilados Heldai, Tobias e Jedaías, que chegaram da Babilônia. No mesmo dia, vá à casa de Josias, filho de Sofonias. 11Pegue a prata e o ouro, faça uma coroa, e coloque-a na cabeça do sumo sacerdote Josué, filho de Jeozadaque. 12Diga-lhe que assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Aqui está o homem cujo nome é Renovo, e ele sairá do seu lugar e construirá o templo do Senhor. 13Ele construirá o templo do Senhor, será revestido de majestade e se assentará em seu trono para governar. Ele será sacerdote no trono. E haverá harmonia entre os dois. 14A coroa será para Heldai6.14 Conforme a Versão Siríaca. O Texto Massorético diz Helém., Tobias, Jedaías e Hem6.14 Ou o bondoso, filho de Sofonias, como um memorial no templo do Senhor. 15Gente de longe virá ajudar a construir o templo do Senhor. Então vocês saberão que o Senhor dos Exércitos me enviou a vocês. Isso só acontecerá se obedecerem fielmente à voz do Senhor, o seu Deus”.
Four chariots
1I looked up again, and there before me were four chariots coming out from between two mountains – mountains of bronze. 2The first chariot had red horses, the second black, 3the third white, and the fourth dappled – all of them powerful. 4I asked the angel who was speaking to me, ‘What are these, my lord?’
5The angel answered me, ‘These are the four spirits6:5 Or winds of heaven, going out from standing in the presence of the Lord of the whole world. 6The one with the black horses is going towards the north country, the one with the white horses towards the west,6:6 Or horses after them and the one with the dappled horses towards the south.’
7When the powerful horses went out, they were straining to go throughout the earth. And he said, ‘Go throughout the earth!’ So they went throughout the earth.
8Then he called to me, ‘Look, those going towards the north country have given my Spirit6:8 Or spirit rest in the land of the north.’
A crown for Joshua
9The word of the Lord came to me: 10‘Take silver and gold from the exiles Heldai, Tobijah and Jedaiah, who have arrived from Babylon. Go the same day to the house of Josiah son of Zephaniah. 11Take the silver and gold and make a crown, and set it on the head of the high priest, Joshua son of Jozadak.6:11 Hebrew Jehozadak, a variant of Jozadak 12Tell him this is what the Lord Almighty says: “Here is the man whose name is the Branch, and he will branch out from his place and build the temple of the Lord. 13It is he who will build the temple of the Lord, and he will be clothed with majesty and will sit and rule on his throne. And he6:13 Or there will be a priest on his throne. And there will be harmony between the two.” 14The crown will be given to Heldai,6:14 Syriac; Hebrew Helem Tobijah, Jedaiah and Hen6:14 Or and the gracious one, the son of Zephaniah as a memorial in the temple of the Lord. 15Those who are far away will come and help to build the temple of the Lord, and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. This will happen if you diligently obey the Lord your God.’
