Uma canção. Salmo da família de Asafe.
1Ó Deus, não te emudeças;
não fiques em silêncio nem te detenhas, ó Deus.
2Vê como se agitam os teus inimigos,
como os teus adversários te desafiam de cabeça erguida.
3Com astúcia conspiram contra o teu povo;
tramam contra aqueles que são o teu tesouro.
4Eles dizem: “Venham, vamos destruí-los como nação,
para que o nome de Israel não seja mais lembrado!”
5Com um só propósito tramam juntos;
é contra ti que fazem acordo
6as tendas de Edom e os ismaelitas,
Moabe e os hagarenos,
7Gebal83.7 Isto é, Biblos., Amom e Amaleque,
a Filístia, com os habitantes de Tiro.
8Até a Assíria aliou-se a eles,
e trouxe força aos descendentes de Ló. Pausa
9Trata-os como trataste Midiã,
como trataste Sísera e Jabim no rio Quisom,
10os quais morreram em En-Dor
e se tornaram esterco para a terra.
11Faze com os seus nobres o que fizeste com Orebe e Zeebe,
e com todos os seus príncipes o que fizeste com Zeba e Zalmuna,
12que disseram:
“Vamos apossar-nos das pastagens de Deus”.
13Faze-os como folhas secas levadas no redemoinho, ó meu Deus,
como palha ao vento.
14Assim como o fogo consome a floresta
e as chamas incendeiam os montes,
15persegue-os com o teu vendaval
e aterroriza-os com a tua tempestade.
16Cobre-lhes de vergonha o rosto
até que busquem o teu nome, Senhor.
17Sejam eles humilhados e aterrorizados para sempre;
pereçam em completa desgraça.
18Saibam eles que tu, cujo nome é Senhor,
somente tu, és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra.

2For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:83.5 consent: Heb. heart
6The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.83.8 holpen: Heb. been an arm to
9Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
10Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.
11Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
12Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
13O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
16Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
17Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
18That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
