1Senhor, Senhor nosso,
como é majestoso o teu nome em toda a terra!
Tu, cuja glória é cantada nos céus.8.1 Ou Puseste a tua glória nos céus; ou ainda Eu te cultuarei acima dos céus.
2Dos lábios das crianças e dos recém-nascidos
firmaste o teu nome como fortaleza8.2 Ou suscitaste louvor,
por causa dos teus adversários,
para silenciar o inimigo que busca vingança.
3Quando contemplo os teus céus,
obra dos teus dedos,
a lua e as estrelas que ali firmaste,
4pergunto: Que é o homem,
para que com ele te importes?
E o filho do homem,
para que com ele te preocupes?
5Tu o fizeste um pouco menor do que os seres celestiais8.5 Ou do que Deus
e o coroaste de glória e de honra.
6Tu o fizeste dominar as obras das tuas mãos;
sob os seus pés tudo puseste:
7todos os rebanhos e manadas,
e até os animais selvagens,
8as aves do céu, os peixes do mar
e tudo o que percorre as veredas dos mares.
9Senhor, Senhor nosso,
como é majestoso o teu nome em toda a terra!

1Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
in the heavens.
2Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
3When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?8:4 Or what is a human being that you are mindful of him, / a son of man that you care for him?
5You have made them8:5 Or him a little lower than the angels8:5 Or than God
and crowned them8:5 Or him with glory and honour.
6You made them rulers over the works of your hands;

7all flocks and herds,
