Para o mestre de música. Um cântico. Um salmo.
1Aclamem a Deus, povos de toda terra!
2Cantem louvores ao seu glorioso nome;
louvem-no gloriosamente!
3Digam a Deus: “Quão temíveis são os teus feitos!
Tão grande é o teu poder
que os teus inimigos rastejam diante de ti!
4Toda a terra te adora
e canta louvores a ti,
canta louvores ao teu nome”. Pausa
5Venham e vejam o que Deus tem feito;
como são impressionantes as suas obras em favor dos homens!
6Ele transformou o mar em terra seca,
e o povo atravessou as águas66.6 Ou o rio a pé;
e ali nos alegramos nele.66.6 Ou venham, alegremo-nos nele.
7Ele governa para sempre com o seu poder,
seus olhos vigiam as nações;
que os rebeldes não se levantem contra ele! Pausa
8Bendigam o nosso Deus, ó povos,
façam ressoar o som do seu louvor;
9foi ele quem preservou a nossa vida
impedindo que os nossos pés escorregassem.
10Pois tu, ó Deus, nos submeteste à prova
e nos refinaste como a prata.
11Fizeste-nos cair numa armadilha
e sobre nossas costas puseste fardos.
12Deixaste que os inimigos cavalgassem sobre a nossa cabeça;
passamos pelo fogo e pela água,
mas a um lugar de fartura66.12 Algumas versões antigas dizem de repouso. nos trouxeste.
13Para o teu templo virei com holocaustos66.13 Isto é, sacrifícios totalmente queimados; também no versículo 15.
e cumprirei os meus votos para contigo,
14votos que os meus lábios fizeram e a minha boca falou
quando eu estava em dificuldade.
15Oferecerei a ti animais gordos em holocausto;
sacrificarei carneiros, cuja fumaça subirá a ti,
e também novilhos e cabritos. Pausa
16Venham e ouçam, todos vocês que temem a Deus;
vou contar-lhes o que ele fez por mim.
17A ele clamei com os lábios;
com a língua o exaltei.
18Se eu acalentasse o pecado no coração,
o Senhor não me ouviria;
19mas Deus me ouviu,
deu atenção à oração que lhe dirigi.
20Louvado seja Deus,
que não rejeitou a minha oração
nem afastou de mim o seu amor!

3Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.66.3 submit…: or, yield feigned obedience: Heb. lie
4All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.
5Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.
6He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.
7He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.
8O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
9Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.66.9 holdeth: Heb. putteth
10For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
11Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins.
12Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.66.12 wealthy: Heb. moist
13I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,
14Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.66.14 uttered: Heb. opened
15I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.66.15 fatlings: Heb. marrow
16Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
17I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.
18If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
19But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
20Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
