Um cântico. Salmo dos coraítas.
1Grande é o Senhor,
e digno de todo louvor na cidade do nosso Deus.
2Seu santo monte, belo e majestoso,
é a alegria de toda a terra.
Como as alturas do Zafom48.2 Zafom refere-se ou a um monte sagrado ou à direção norte. é o monte Sião,
a cidade do grande Rei.
3Nas suas cidadelas
Deus se revela como sua proteção.
4Vejam! Os reis somaram forças,
e juntos avançaram contra ela.
5Quando a viram, ficaram atônitos,
fugiram aterrorizados.
6Ali mesmo o pavor os dominou;
contorceram-se como a mulher no parto.
7Foste como o vento oriental
quando destruiu os navios de Társis.
8Como já temos ouvido,
agora também temos visto
na cidade do Senhor dos Exércitos,
na cidade de nosso Deus:
Deus a preserva firme para sempre. Pausa
9No teu templo, ó Deus,
meditamos em teu amor leal.
10Como o teu nome, ó Deus,
o teu louvor alcança os confins da terra;
a tua mão direita está cheia de justiça.
11O monte Sião se alegra,
as cidades48.11 Hebraico: filhas. de Judá exultam
por causa das tuas decisões justas.
12Percorram Sião, contornando-a,
contem as suas torres,
13observem bem as suas muralhas,
examinem as suas cidadelas,
para que vocês falem à próxima geração
14que este Deus é o nosso Deus para todo o sempre;
ele será o nosso guia até o fim48.14 Ou até à morte.

1Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise,
in the city of our God, his holy mountain.
2Beautiful in its loftiness,
the joy of the whole earth,

3God is in her citadels;
he has shown himself to be her fortress.
4When the kings joined forces,
when they advanced together,
5they saw her and were astounded;

6Trembling seized them there,

shattered by an east wind.
8As we have heard,
so we have seen
in the city of the Lord Almighty,
in the city of our God:
God makes her secure

9Within your temple, O God,
we meditate on your unfailing love.
10Like your name, O God,
your praise reaches to the ends of the earth;
your right hand is filled with righteousness.
11Mount Zion rejoices,
the villages of Judah are glad
because of your judgments.
12Walk about Zion, go around her,
count her towers,
13consider well her ramparts,
view her citadels,
that you may tell of them
to the next generation.
14For this God is our God for ever and ever;
he will be our guide even to the end.
