Salmo 27
Davídico.
1O Senhor é a minha luz e a minha salvação;
de quem terei temor?
O Senhor é o meu forte refúgio;
de quem terei medo?
2Quando homens maus avançarem contra mim
para destruir-me27.2 Hebraico: devorar a minha carne.,
eles, meus inimigos e meus adversários,
é que tropeçarão e cairão.
3Ainda que um exército se acampe contra mim,
meu coração não temerá;
ainda que se declare guerra contra mim,
mesmo assim estarei confiante.
4Uma coisa pedi ao Senhor
e a procuro:
que eu possa viver na casa do Senhor
todos os dias da minha vida,
para contemplar a bondade do Senhor
e buscar sua orientação no seu templo.
5Pois no dia da adversidade
ele me guardará protegido em sua habitação;
no seu tabernáculo me esconderá
e me porá em segurança sobre um rochedo.
6Então triunfarei sobre os inimigos que me cercam.
Em seu tabernáculo oferecerei sacrifícios com aclamações;
cantarei e louvarei ao Senhor.
7Ouve a minha voz quando clamo, ó Senhor;
tem misericórdia de mim e responde-me.
8A teu respeito diz o meu coração:
Busque a minha face!27.8 Ou A você, ó meu coração, ele diz: “Busque a minha face!”
A tua face, Senhor, buscarei.
9Não escondas de mim a tua face,
não rejeites com ira o teu servo;
tu tens sido o meu ajudador.
Não me desampares nem me abandones,
ó Deus, meu salvador!
10Ainda que me abandonem pai e mãe,
o Senhor me acolherá.
11Ensina-me o teu caminho, Senhor;
conduze-me por uma vereda segura
por causa dos meus inimigos.
12Não me entregues
ao capricho dos meus adversários,
pois testemunhas falsas se levantam contra mim,
respirando violência.
13Apesar disso, esta certeza eu tenho:
viverei até ver a bondade do Senhor na terra.
14Espere no Senhor.
Seja forte! Coragem!
Espere no Senhor.
A Psalm of David.
1The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

4One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.27.4 the beauty: or, the delight
5For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.27.6 joy: Heb. shouting
7Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.27.8 When…: or, My heart said unto thee, Let my face seek thy face, etc
9Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.27.10 take…: Heb. gather me
11Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.27.11 a plain…: Heb. a way of plainness27.11 mine…: Heb. those which observe me
12Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
14Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
