Para o mestre de música. Salmo davídico.
1Os céus declaram a glória de Deus;
o firmamento proclama a obra das suas mãos.
2Um dia fala disso a outro dia;
uma noite o revela a outra noite.
3Sem discurso nem palavras,
não se ouve a sua voz.
4Mas a sua voz19.4 Conforme a Septuaginta e a Versão Siríaca. O Texto Massorético diz corda. ressoa por toda a terra
e as suas palavras até os confins do mundo.
Nos céus ele armou uma tenda para o sol,
5que é como um noivo que sai de seu aposento
e se lança em sua carreira com a alegria de um herói.
6Sai de uma extremidade dos céus
e faz o seu trajeto até a outra;
nada escapa ao seu calor.
7A lei do Senhor é perfeita
e revigora a alma.
Os testemunhos do Senhor são dignos de confiança
e tornam sábios os inexperientes.
8Os preceitos do Senhor são justos
e dão alegria ao coração.
Os mandamentos do Senhor são límpidos
e trazem luz aos olhos.
9O temor do Senhor é puro
e dura para sempre.
As ordenanças do Senhor são verdadeiras,
são todas elas justas.
10São mais desejáveis do que o ouro,
do que muito ouro puro;
são mais doces do que o mel,
do que as gotas do favo.
11Por elas o teu servo é advertido;
há grande recompensa em obedecer-lhes.
12Quem pode discernir os próprios erros?
Absolve-me dos que desconheço!
13Também guarda o teu servo dos pecados intencionais;
que eles não me dominem!
Então serei íntegro,
inocente de grande transgressão.
14Que as palavras da minha boca
e a meditação do meu coração
sejam agradáveis a ti,
Senhor, minha Rocha e meu Resgatador!

1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

4Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,19.4 line: or, rule, or, direction
5Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.19.7 law: or, doctrine19.7 converting: or, restoring
8The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.19.9 true: Heb. truth
10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.19.10 the honeycomb: Heb. the dropping of honeycombs
11Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.19.13 the great: or, much
