Salmo 104
1Bendiga o Senhor a minha alma!
Ó Senhor, meu Deus, tu és tão grandioso!
Estás vestido de majestade e esplendor!
2Envolto em luz como numa veste,
ele estende os céus como uma tenda,
3e põe sobre as águas dos céus as vigas dos seus aposentos.
Faz das nuvens a sua carruagem
e cavalga nas asas do vento.
4Faz dos ventos seus mensageiros104.4 Ou anjos
e dos clarões reluzentes seus servos.
5Firmaste a terra sobre os seus fundamentos
para que jamais se abale;
6com as torrentes do abismo a cobriste,
como se fossem uma veste;
as águas subiram acima dos montes.
7Diante das tuas ameaças as águas fugiram,
puseram-se em fuga ao som do teu trovão;
8subiram pelos montes e escorreram pelos vales,
para os lugares que tu lhes designaste.
9Estabeleceste um limite que não podem ultrapassar;
jamais tornarão a cobrir a terra.
10Fazes jorrar as nascentes nos vales
e correrem as águas entre os montes;
11delas bebem todos os animais selvagens,
e os jumentos selvagens saciam a sua sede.
12As aves do céu fazem ninho junto às águas
e entre os galhos põem-se a cantar.
13Dos teus aposentos celestes regas os montes;
sacia-se a terra com o fruto das tuas obras!
14É o Senhor que faz crescer o pasto para o gado,
e as plantas que o homem cultiva,
para da terra tirar o alimento:
15o vinho, que alegra o coração do homem;
o azeite, que lhe faz brilhar o rosto,
e o pão, que sustenta o seu vigor.
16As árvores do Senhor são bem regadas,
os cedros do Líbano que ele plantou;
17nelas os pássaros fazem ninho,
e nos pinheiros a cegonha tem o seu lar.
18Os montes elevados pertencem aos bodes selvagens,
e os penhascos são um refúgio para os coelhos.
19Ele fez a lua para marcar estações;
o sol sabe quando deve se pôr.
20Trazes trevas, e cai a noite,
quando os animais da floresta vagueiam.
21Os leões rugem à procura da presa,
buscando de Deus o alimento,
22mas ao nascer do sol eles se vão
e voltam a deitar-se em suas tocas.
23Então o homem sai para o seu trabalho,
para o seu labor até o entardecer.
24Quantas são as tuas obras, Senhor!
Fizeste todas elas com sabedoria!
A terra está cheia de seres que criaste.
25Eis o mar, imenso e vasto.
Nele vivem inúmeras criaturas,
seres vivos, pequenos e grandes.
26Nele passam os navios,
e também o Leviatã104.26 Ou monstro marinho, que formaste para com ele104.26 Ou para nele brincar.
27Todos eles dirigem seu olhar a ti,
esperando que lhes dês o alimento no tempo certo;
28tu lhes dás, e eles o recolhem;
abres a tua mão, e saciam-se de coisas boas.
29Quando escondes o rosto,
entram em pânico;
quando lhes retiras o fôlego,
morrem e voltam ao pó.
30Quando sopras o teu fôlego,
eles são criados,
e renovas a face da terra.
31Perdure para sempre a glória do Senhor!
Alegre-se o Senhor em seus feitos!
32Ele olha para a terra, e ela treme;
toca os montes, e eles fumegam.
33Cantarei ao Senhor toda a minha vida;
louvarei ao meu Deus enquanto eu viver.
34Seja-lhe agradável a minha meditação,
pois no Senhor tenho alegria.
35Sejam os pecadores eliminados da terra
e deixem de existir os ímpios.

1Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
2Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
3Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
4Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
5Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.104.5 Who…: Heb. He hath founded the earth upon her bases
6Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
7At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
8They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.104.8 They go up…: or, The mountains ascend, the valleys descend
9Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.
10He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.104.10 He: Heb. Who104.10 run: Heb. walk
11They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.104.11 quench: Heb. break
12By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.104.12 sing: Heb. give a voice
13He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
14He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
15And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart.104.15 oil…: Heb. to make his face shine with oil, or, more than oil
16The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;
17Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.
18The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.
19He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
20Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.104.20 beasts…: Heb. beasts thereof do trample on the forest
21The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.
22The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.
23Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.
24O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
25So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.
26There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.104.26 made: Heb. formed
27These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.
28That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.
29Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
30Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.
31The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.104.31 endure: Heb. be
32He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.
33I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
34My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.
35Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.
