Salmo 102
Oração de um aflito que, quase desfalecido, derrama o seu lamento diante do Senhor.
1Ouve a minha oração, Senhor!
Chegue a ti o meu grito de socorro!
2Não escondas de mim o teu rosto
quando estou atribulado.
Inclina para mim os teus ouvidos;
quando eu clamar, responde-me depressa!
3Esvaem-se os meus dias como fumaça;
meus ossos queimam como brasas vivas.
4Como a relva ressequida está o meu coração;
esqueço até de comer!
5De tanto gemer
estou reduzido a pele e osso.
6Sou como a coruja do deserto102.6 Ou pelicano,
como uma coruja entre as ruínas.
7Não consigo dormir;
pareço um pássaro solitário no telhado.
8Os meus inimigos zombam de mim o tempo todo;
os que me insultam usam o meu nome para lançar maldições.
9Cinzas são a minha comida,
e com lágrimas misturo o que bebo,
10por causa da tua indignação e da tua ira,
pois me rejeitaste e me expulsaste para longe de ti.
11Meus dias são como sombras crescentes;
sou como a relva que vai murchando.
12Tu, porém, Senhor, no trono reinarás para sempre;
o teu nome será lembrado de geração em geração.
13Tu te levantarás e terás misericórdia de Sião,
pois é hora de lhe mostrares compaixão;
o tempo certo é chegado.
14Pois as suas pedras são amadas pelos teus servos,
as suas ruínas os enchem de compaixão.
15Então as nações temerão o nome do Senhor
e todos os reis da terra a sua glória.
16Porque o Senhor reconstruirá Sião
e se manifestará na glória que ele tem.
17Responderá à oração dos desamparados;
as suas súplicas não desprezará.
18Escreva-se isto para as futuras gerações,
e um povo que ainda será criado
louvará o Senhor, proclamando:
19“Do seu santuário nas alturas o Senhor olhou;
dos céus observou a terra,
20para ouvir os gemidos dos prisioneiros
e libertar os condenados à morte”.
21Assim o nome do Senhor será anunciado em Sião
e o seu louvor em Jerusalém,
22quando os povos e os reinos
se reunirem para adorar o Senhor.
23No meio da minha vida ele me abateu com sua força;
abreviou os meus dias.
24Então pedi:
“Ó meu Deus, não me leves no meio dos meus dias.
Os teus dias duram por todas as gerações!”
25No princípio firmaste os fundamentos da terra,
e os céus são obras das tuas mãos.
26Eles perecerão, mas tu permanecerás;
envelhecerão como vestimentas.
Como roupas tu os trocarás
e serão jogados fora.
27Mas tu permaneces o mesmo,
e os teus dias jamais terão fim.
28Os filhos dos teus servos terão uma habitação;
os seus descendentes serão estabelecidos na tua presença.
A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before the LORD.
1Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.102.1 of: or, for
2Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.
3For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.102.3 like…: or, (as some read) into smoke
4My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.
5By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.102.5 skin: or, flesh
6I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.
7I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.
8Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.
9For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,
10Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.
11My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.
12But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.
13Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
14For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.
15So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.
16When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.
17He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
18This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
19For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;
20To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;102.20 those…: Heb. the children of death
21To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
22When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.
23He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.102.23 weakened: Heb. afflicted
24I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.
25Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
26They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:102.26 endure: Heb. stand
27But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
28The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.
