O Reinado de Azarias, Rei de Judá
1No vigésimo sétimo ano do reinado de Jeroboão, rei de Israel, Azarias, filho de Amazias, rei de Judá, começou a reinar. 2Tinha dezesseis anos de idade quando se tornou rei e reinou cinquenta e dois anos em Jerusalém. Sua mãe era de Jerusalém e chamava-se Jecolias. 3Ele fez o que o Senhor aprova, tal como o seu pai, Amazias. 4Contudo, os altares idólatras não foram derrubados; o povo continuava a oferecer sacrifícios e a queimar incenso neles.
5O Senhor feriu o rei com lepra15.5 O termo hebraico não se refere somente à lepra, mas também a diversas doenças da pele., até o dia de sua morte. Durante todo esse tempo ele morou numa casa separada15.5 Ou casa onde estava desobrigado de suas responsabilidades. Jotão, filho do rei, tomava conta do palácio e governava o povo.

O Reinado de Zacarias, Rei de Israel
8No trigésimo oitavo ano do reinado de Azarias, rei de Judá, Zacarias, filho de Jeroboão, tornou-se rei de Israel em Samaria e reinou seis meses. 9Ele fez o que o Senhor reprova, como seus antepassados haviam feito. Não se desviou dos pecados que Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, levara Israel a cometer.
10Salum, filho de Jabes, conspirou contra Zacarias. Ele o atacou na frente do povo15.10 Alguns manuscritos da Septuaginta dizem atacou em Ibleã., assassinou-o e foi o seu sucessor. 11Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Zacarias estão escritos nos registros históricos dos reis de Israel. 12Assim se cumpriu a palavra do Senhor anunciada a Jeú: “Seus descendentes ocuparão o trono de Israel até a quarta geração”.
O Reinado de Salum, Rei de Israel
13Salum, filho de Jabes, começou a reinar no trigésimo oitavo ano do reinado de Uzias, rei de Judá, e reinou um mês em Samaria. 14Então Menaém, filho de Gadi, foi de Tirza a Samaria e atacou Salum, filho de Jabes, assassinou-o e foi o seu sucessor. 15Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Salum e a conspiração que liderou estão escritos nos registros históricos dos reis de Israel.
16Naquela ocasião Menaém, partindo de Tirza, atacou Tifsa e todos que estavam na cidade e seus arredores, porque eles se recusaram a abrir as portas da cidade. Saqueou Tifsa e rasgou ao meio todas as mulheres grávidas.
O Reinado de Menaém, Rei de Israel
17No trigésimo nono ano do reinado de Azarias, rei de Judá, Menaém, filho de Gadi, tornou-se rei de Israel e reinou dez anos em Samaria. 18Ele fez o que o Senhor reprova. Durante todo o seu reinado não se desviou dos pecados que Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, levara Israel a cometer.
19Então Pul15.19 Também chamado Tiglate-Pileser., rei da Assíria, invadiu o país, e Menaém lhe deu trinta e cinco toneladas15.19 Hebraico: 1.000 talentos. Um talento equivalia a 35 quilos. de prata para obter seu apoio e manter-se no trono. 20Menaém cobrou essa quantia de Israel. Todos os homens de posses tiveram de contribuir com seiscentos gramas15.20 Hebraico: 50 siclos. Um siclo equivalia a 12 gramas. de prata no pagamento ao rei da Assíria. Então ele interrompeu a invasão e foi embora.

O Reinado de Pecaías, Rei de Israel
23No quinquagésimo ano do reinado de Azarias, rei de Judá, Pecaías, filho de Menaém, tornou-se rei de Israel em Samaria e reinou dois anos. 24Pecaías fez o que o Senhor reprova. Não se desviou dos pecados que Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, levara Israel a cometer. 25Um dos seus principais oficiais, Peca, filho de Remalias, conspirou contra ele. Levando consigo cinquenta homens de Gileade, assassinou Pecaías e também Argobe e Arié, na cidadela do palácio real em Samaria. Assim Peca matou Pecaías e foi o seu sucessor.

O Reinado de Peca, Rei de Israel
27No quinquagésimo segundo ano do reinado de Azarias, rei de Judá, Peca, filho de Remalias, tornou-se rei de Israel em Samaria e reinou vinte anos. 28Ele fez o que o Senhor reprova. Não se desviou dos pecados que Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, levara Israel a cometer.
29Durante o seu reinado, Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria, invadiu e conquistou Ijom, Abel-Bete-Maaca, Janoa, Quedes e Hazor. Tomou Gileade e a Galileia, inclusive toda a terra de Naftali, e deportou o povo para a Assíria. 30Então Oseias, filho de Elá, conspirou contra Peca, filho de Remalias. Ele o atacou e o assassinou, tornando-se o seu sucessor no vigésimo ano do reinado de Jotão, filho de Uzias.

O Reinado de Jotão, Rei de Judá
32No segundo ano do reinado de Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, Jotão, filho de Uzias, rei de Judá, começou a reinar. 33Ele tinha vinte e cinco anos de idade quando começou a reinar e reinou dezesseis anos em Jerusalém. O nome da sua mãe era Jerusa, filha de Zadoque. 34Ele fez o que o Senhor aprova, tal como seu pai, Uzias. 35Contudo, os altares idólatras não foram derrubados; o povo continuou a oferecer sacrifícios e a queimar incenso neles. Jotão reconstruiu a porta superior do templo do Senhor.
36Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Jotão e as suas realizações estão escritos nos registros históricos dos reis de Judá. 37(Naqueles dias o Senhor começou a enviar Rezim, rei da Síria, e Peca, filho de Remalias, contra Judá.) 38Jotão descansou com os seus antepassados e foi sepultado junto a eles na Cidade de Davi, seu predecessor. Seu filho Acaz foi o seu sucessor.
1In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.15.1 Azariah: also called, Uzziah 2Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem. 3And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done; 4Save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.
5¶ And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house. And Jotham the king’s son was over the house, judging the people of the land. 6And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 7So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
8¶ In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months. 9And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin. 10And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead. 11And the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel. 12This was the word of the LORD which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons shall sit on the throne of Israel unto the fourth generation. And so it came to pass.
13¶ Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.15.13 Uzziah: Gr. Ozias15.13 a full…: Heb. a month of days 14For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead. 15And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
16¶ Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up. 17In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria. 18And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin. 19And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand. 20And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.15.20 exacted: Heb. caused to come forth
21¶ And the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 22And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.
23¶ In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years. 24And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin. 25But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king’s house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room. 26And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
27¶ In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years. 28And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin. 29In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria. 30And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah. 31And the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
32¶ In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign. 33Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok. 34And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.
35¶ Howbeit the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD.
36¶ Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 37In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah. 38And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
