1“Assim Bezalel, Aoliabe e todos os homens capazes, a quem o Senhor concedeu destreza e habilidade para fazer toda a obra de construção do santuário, realizarão a obra como o Senhor ordenou”.
2Então Moisés chamou Bezalel e Aoliabe e todos os homens capazes a quem o Senhor dera habilidade e que estavam dispostos a vir realizar a obra. 3Receberam de Moisés todas as ofertas que os israelitas tinham trazido para a obra de construção do santuário. E o povo continuava a trazer voluntariamente ofertas, manhã após manhã. 4Por isso, todos os artesãos habilidosos que trabalhavam no santuário interromperam o trabalho 5e disseram a Moisés: “O povo está trazendo mais do que o suficiente para realizar a obra que o Senhor ordenou”.
6Então Moisés ordenou que fosse feita esta proclamação em todo o acampamento: “Nenhum homem ou mulher deverá fazer mais nada para ser oferecido ao santuário”. Assim, o povo foi impedido de trazer mais, 7pois o que já haviam recebido era mais que suficiente para realizar toda a obra.
A Construção do Tabernáculo
8Todos os homens capazes dentre os trabalhadores fizeram o tabernáculo com dez cortinas internas de linho fino trançado e de fios de tecidos azul, roxo e vermelho, com os querubins bordados sobre eles. 9Todas as cortinas internas tinham o mesmo tamanho: doze metros e sessenta centímetros de comprimento por um metro e oitenta centímetros de largura36.9 Hebraico: 28 côvados de comprimento por 4 côvados de largura. O côvado era uma medida linear de cerca de 45 centímetros.. 10Prenderam cinco cortinas internas e fizeram o mesmo com as outras cinco. 11Em seguida, fizeram laçadas de tecido azul ao longo da borda da última cortina interna do primeiro conjunto de cortinas internas, fazendo o mesmo com o segundo conjunto. 12Fizeram também cinquenta laçadas na primeira cortina interna e cinquenta laçadas na última cortina interna do segundo conjunto; as laçadas estavam opostas umas às outras. 13Depois fizeram cinquenta ganchos de ouro e com eles prenderam um conjunto de cortinas internas ao outro, para que o tabernáculo formasse um todo.
14Com o total de onze cortinas internas de pelos de cabra fizeram uma tenda para cobrir o tabernáculo. 15As onze cortinas internas tinham a mesma medida: treze metros e meio de comprimento por um metro e oitenta centímetros de largura. 16Prenderam cinco cortinas internas num conjunto e as outras seis noutro conjunto. 17Depois fizeram cinquenta laçadas em volta da borda da última cortina interna de um dos conjuntos e também na borda da última cortina interna do outro conjunto. 18Fizeram também cinquenta ganchos de bronze para unir a tenda, formando um todo. 19Em seguida, fizeram para a tenda uma cobertura de pele de carneiro tingida de vermelho, e por cima desta uma cobertura de couro.
20Fizeram ainda armações verticais de madeira de acácia para o tabernáculo. 21Cada armação tinha quatro metros e meio de comprimento por setenta centímetros de largura, 22com dois encaixes paralelos um ao outro. E fizeram todas as armações do tabernáculo dessa madeira. 23Fizeram também vinte armações para o lado sul do tabernáculo 24e quarenta bases de prata para serem colocadas debaixo delas; duas bases para cada armação, uma debaixo de cada encaixe. 25Para o outro lado, o lado norte do tabernáculo, fizeram vinte armações 26e quarenta bases de prata, duas debaixo de cada armação. 27Fizeram ainda seis armações na parte de trás do tabernáculo, isto é, para o lado ocidental, 28e duas armações foram montadas nos cantos, na parte de trás do tabernáculo. 29Nesses dois cantos as armações eram duplas, desde a parte inferior até a mais alta, colocadas numa só argola, ambas feitas do mesmo modo. 30Havia, pois, oito armações e dezesseis bases de prata, duas debaixo de cada armação.
31Também fizeram travessões de madeira de acácia: cinco para as armações de um lado do tabernáculo, 32cinco para as do outro lado e cinco para as do lado ocidental, na parte de trás do tabernáculo. 33Fizeram o travessão central de uma extremidade à outra, passando pelo meio das armações. 34Revestiram de ouro as armações e fizeram argolas de ouro para sustentar os travessões, os quais também revestiram de ouro.
35Fizeram o véu de linho fino trançado e de fios de tecidos azul, roxo e vermelho, e mandaram bordar nele querubins. 36Fizeram-lhe quatro colunas de madeira de acácia e as revestiram de ouro. Fizeram-lhe ainda ganchos de ouro e fundiram as suas bases de prata. 37Para a entrada da tenda fizeram uma cortina de linho fino trançado e de fios de tecidos azul, roxo e vermelho—obra de bordador; 38e fizeram-lhe cinco colunas com ganchos. Revestiram de ouro as partes superior e lateral das colunas e fizeram de bronze as suas cinco bases.
1So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the Lord has commanded.”
2Then Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord had given ability and who was willing to come and do the work. 3They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. 4So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing 5and said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the Lord commanded to be done.”
6Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: “No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” And so the people were restrained from bringing more, 7because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.
The Tabernacle
8All those who were skilled among the workers made the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim woven into them by expert hands. 9All the curtains were the same size—twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide.36:9 That is, about 42 feet long and 6 feet wide or about 13 meters long and 1.8 meters wide 10They joined five of the curtains together and did the same with the other five. 11Then they made loops of blue material along the edge of the end curtain in one set, and the same was done with the end curtain in the other set. 12They also made fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the other set, with the loops opposite each other. 13Then they made fifty gold clasps and used them to fasten the two sets of curtains together so that the tabernacle was a unit.
14They made curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle—eleven altogether. 15All eleven curtains were the same size—thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.36:15 That is, about 45 feet long and 6 feet wide or about 14 meters long and 1.8 meters wide 16They joined five of the curtains into one set and the other six into another set. 17Then they made fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in one set and also along the edge of the end curtain in the other set. 18They made fifty bronze clasps to fasten the tent together as a unit. 19Then they made for the tent a covering of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of the other durable leather.36:19 Possibly the hides of large aquatic mammals (see 35:7)
20They made upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle. 21Each frame was ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide,36:21 That is, about 15 feet long and 2 1/4 feet wide or about 4.5 meters long and 68 centimeters wide 22with two projections set parallel to each other. They made all the frames of the tabernacle in this way. 23They made twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle 24and made forty silver bases to go under them—two bases for each frame, one under each projection. 25For the other side, the north side of the tabernacle, they made twenty frames 26and forty silver bases—two under each frame. 27They made six frames for the far end, that is, the west end of the tabernacle, 28and two frames were made for the corners of the tabernacle at the far end. 29At these two corners the frames were double from the bottom all the way to the top and fitted into a single ring; both were made alike. 30So there were eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.
31They also made crossbars of acacia wood: five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle, 32five for those on the other side, and five for the frames on the west, at the far end of the tabernacle. 33They made the center crossbar so that it extended from end to end at the middle of the frames. 34They overlaid the frames with gold and made gold rings to hold the crossbars. They also overlaid the crossbars with gold.
35They made the curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen, with cherubim woven into it by a skilled worker. 36They made four posts of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold. They made gold hooks for them and cast their four silver bases. 37For the entrance to the tent they made a curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen—the work of an embroiderer; 38and they made five posts with hooks for them. They overlaid the tops of the posts and their bands with gold and made their five bases of bronze.
