Psalm 101
En god kungs bön
1Av David. En psalm.
Jag vill sjunga om din nåd och rättvisa, Herre.
Jag vill sjunga en lovsång till dig!
2Jag vill leva ett klanderfritt liv.
När kommer du till min hjälp?
Jag vill leva med ett rent hjärta i mitt eget hem.
3Det som är ont och fördärvligt
vill jag inte sträva efter –
jag hatar dem som handlar trolöst
och vill inte bli inblandad i något sådant.
4Falskhet vill jag hålla långt från mig,
och det onda vill jag inte veta av.
5Den som i hemlighet förtalar sina medmänniskor vill jag krossa.
Jag tänker inte tillåta högmod och stolthet.
6Min blick ska vara fäst vid de trofasta i landet,
och de ska få bo hos mig.
Den som lever ett klanderfritt liv
ska få vara i min tjänst.
7Den som handlar svekfullt får inte bo i mitt hus,
och lögnaren blir inte accepterad hos mig.
8Varje morgon kommer jag att krossa de onda i landet
och utrota från Herrens stad alla som gör orätt.
Psalm 101
Of David. A psalm.
1I will sing of your love and justice;
to you, Lord, I will sing praise.
2I will be careful to lead a blameless life –
when will you come to me?
I will conduct the affairs of my house
with a blameless heart.
3I will not look with approval
on anything that is vile.
I hate what faithless people do;
I will have no part in it.
4The perverse of heart shall be far from me;
I will have nothing to do with what is evil.
5Whoever slanders their neighbour in secret,
I will put to silence;
whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart,
I will not tolerate.
6My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
that they may dwell with me;
the one whose way of life is blameless
will minister to me.
7No-one who practises deceit
will dwell in my house;
no-one who speaks falsely
will stand in my presence.
8Every morning I will put to silence
all the wicked in the land;
I will cut off every evildoer
from the city of the Lord.
