Jerusalem – en värdelös vinstock
1Herrens ord kom till mig: 2”Människa, på vilket sätt är träet i en vinstock bättre än träet i alla andra träslag i skogen? 3Tar man virke av den för att tillverka något? Kan man ens göra en pinne av den för att hänga upp något på? 4Om den har lagts som ved på elden, och elden har förtärt dess båda ändar, och den är svedd även på mitten, duger den då till något? 5Om den var så oanvändbar medan den ännu var hel, hur mycket mindre kan den användas till någonting när elden har förtärt och bränt den?
6Därför säger Herren, Herren: Så som jag av skogens träd har lagt vinstocken som ved på elden, så ska jag göra med Jerusalems invånare. 7Jag ska vända mig mot dem. De har kommit ut ur elden, ändå ska elden förtära dem. Ni ska inse att jag är Herren, när jag vänder mig mot dem. 8Jag ska ödelägga landet därför att de varit trolösa, säger Herren, Herren.”
