A treia viziune: omul cu funia de măsurat
1Apoi mi‑am ridicat ochii, m‑am uitat și iată că era un om care avea în mână o funie de măsurat.
2L‑am întrebat:
– Unde te duci?
El mi‑a răspuns:
– Să măsor Ierusalimul, ca să văd ce lățime și ce lungime are.
3Atunci îngerul care vorbea cu mine s‑a îndepărtat, iar un alt înger a venit să‑l întâlnească. 4Acesta i‑a zis: „Aleargă și vorbește‑i tânărului acestuia, zicând: «Ierusalimul va fi locuit ca o cetate fără ziduri, din cauza mulțimii oamenilor și a animalelor din mijlocul lui. 5Eu Însumi voi fi un zid de foc împrejurul lui, zice Domnul, și voi fi slava din mijlocul lui.
6Vai! Vai! Fugiți din țara din nord, zice Domnul. Căci v‑am împrăștiat ca pe cele patru vânturi ale cerului, zice Domnul. 7Vai, Sioane, scapă tu, care locuiești la fiica Babilonului! 8Căci așa vorbește Domnul Oștirilor: după slavă M‑a trimis El la neamurile care v‑au prădat; căci cel ce se atinge de voi, se atinge de lumina ochilor8 Lit.: deschizătura/pupila ochiului. Mei8 Pentru a rezolva dilema versetului (Domnul Oștirilor Se trimite pe Sine Însuși la neamuri), scribii din antichitate au modificat versiunea originală, folosind sufixul pronominal la pers. a III‑a singular (el), în loc de pers. I singular (eu). O astfel de modificare a fost numită tiqqun soferim (corectură a scribilor). NTR urmează versiunea considerată originală, făcând abstracție de corectura scribilor.! 9Prin urmare, iată, Îmi ridic mâna împotriva lor și vor deveni pradă pentru înșiși robii lor! Și veți ști astfel că Domnul Oștirilor M‑a trimis!
10Strigă de bucurie și veselește‑te, fiică a Sionului, căci iată că Eu vin și voi locui în mijlocul tău, zice Domnul. 11Multe neamuri se vor alătura Domnului, în ziua aceea, și vor fi poporul Meu. Eu voi locui în mijlocul tău și astfel vei ști că Domnul Oștirilor M‑a trimis la tine. 12Domnul va lua în stăpânire pe Iuda, ca partea Lui de moștenire din ținutul sfânt, și va alege iarăși Ierusalimul! 13Orice făptură să tacă înaintea Domnului, căci El S‑a ridicat din Locuința Lui cea sfântă!»“
1I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand. 2Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof. 3And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him, 4And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein: 5For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
6¶ Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. 7Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. 8For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. 9For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.
