1Glasul meu s‑a înălțat către Dumnezeu;
am strigat cu glasul meu către Dumnezeu și El m‑a ascultat.
2În ziua necazului meu L‑am căutat pe Stăpânul.
Noaptea îmi țineam mâna întinsă și nu amorțea;
sufletul meu refuza să fie mângâiat.
3Mi‑am adus aminte de Dumnezeu și am oftat;
am cugetat și duhul mi‑a leșinat. Selah
4Tu ai ținut deschise pleoapele ochilor mei.
Eram răvășit
și nu vorbeam.
5M‑am gândit la zilele de odinioară,
la anii de demult.
6Mi‑am amintit de cântarea mea din timpul nopții.
Am cugetat în inima mea, m‑am întrebat în duhul meu:
7„Oare Stăpânul leapădă pentru totdeauna?
Să nu mai fie niciodată binevoitor?
8Oare Și‑a oprit îndurarea pe vecie?
A pus El oare capăt promisiunii Lui din generație în generație?
9Oare a uitat Dumnezeu de îndurare?
În mânia Lui, Și‑a retras El oare mila?“ Selah
10Atunci am zis: „Ceea ce mă face să sufăr
este că dreapta Celui Preaînalt s‑a schimbat10 Sensul versetului este nesigur..“
11Îmi voi aminti faptele Domnului;
da, îmi voi aduce aminte de minunile Tale de odinioară!
12Voi cugeta la toată lucrarea Ta
și voi medita la isprăvile Tale.
13Dumnezeule, calea Ta este sfântă13 Sau: calea Ta este în sanctuar.!
Care zeu este atât de mare ca Dumnezeu?
14Tu ești Dumnezeul înfăptuitor de minuni!
Tu Ți‑ai descoperit puterea popoarelor!
15Cu brațul Tău Ți‑ai răscumpărat poporul,
pe fiii lui Iacov și ai lui Iosif. Selah
16Când Te‑au văzut apele, Dumnezeule,
când Te‑au văzut apele, s‑au învolburat,
iar adâncurile s‑au cutremurat.
17Norii au revărsat apa,
tunetul a bubuit în cer,
iar săgețile Tale s‑au împrăștiat în toate părțile.
18Bubuitul tunetului Tău trecea prin vijelie,
iar fulgerele luminau lumea;
pământul s‑a clătinat și s‑a cutremurat.
19Calea Ta a trecut prin mare,
iar cărarea Ta – prin ape mari,
și nu Ți s‑au mai cunoscut urmele.
20Ți‑ai condus poporul ca pe o turmă,
prin mâna lui Moise și a lui Aaron.

1I cried out to God for help.
I cried out to God to hear me.
2When I was in trouble, I looked to the Lord for help.
During the night I lifted up my hands in prayer.
But I refused to be comforted.
3God, I remembered you, and I groaned.
I thought about you, and I became weak.
4You kept me from going to sleep.
I was so troubled I couldn’t speak.
5I thought about days gone by.
I thought about the years of long ago.
6I remembered how I used to sing praise to you in the night.
I thought about it, and here is what I asked myself.
7“Will the Lord turn away from us forever?
Won’t he ever show us his kindness again?
8Has his faithful love disappeared forever?
Has his promise failed for all time?
9Has God forgotten to help us?
Has he held back his tender love because he was angry?”
10Then I thought, “Here is what gives me hope.
For many years the Most High God showed how powerful he is.
11Lord, I will remember what you did.
Yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
12I will spend time thinking about everything you have done.
I will consider all your mighty acts.”
13God, everything you do is holy.
What god is as great as our God?
14You are the God who does miracles.
You show your power among the nations.
15With your mighty arm you set your people free.
You set the children of Jacob and Joseph free.
16God, the water of the Red Sea saw you.
It saw you and boiled up.
The deepest waters were stirred up.
17The clouds poured down rain.
The skies rumbled with thunder.
Lightning flashed back and forth like arrows.
18Your thunder was heard in the windstorm.
Your lightning lit up the world.
The earth trembled and shook.
19Your path led through the Red Sea.
You walked through the mighty waters.
But your footprints were not seen.
20You led your people like a flock.
You led them by the hands of Moses and Aaron.
