Psalmul 69
Pentru dirijor. De cântat ca și „Crinii“. Al lui David.
1Izbăvește‑mă, Dumnezeule,
căci mi‑au ajuns apele până la gât.
2Mă afund în mlaștina cea adâncă,
nu mai găsesc loc tare.
Intru în adâncurile apelor
și se revarsă peste mine șuvoiul.
3Am obosit strigând,
mi s‑a uscat gâtul.
Mi se topesc ochii
așteptându‑L pe Dumnezeul meu.
4Cei ce mă urăsc fără motiv
sunt mai numeroși decât perii capului meu.
Mulți sunt cei ce vor să mă piardă,
dușmani ai mei fără temei.
Trebuie să dau înapoi ce n‑am furat.4 Sau, sub forma unei zicale: Trebuie dat înapoi / ceea ce nu am furat?
5Dumnezeule, Tu‑mi cunoști nebunia,
și greșelile mele nu‑Ți sunt ascunse.
6Să nu se rușineze din cauza mea cei ce nădăjduiesc în Tine,
Doamne, Stăpânul Oștirilor.
Să nu roșească din cauza mea cei ce Te caută,
Dumnezeul lui Israel.
7Căci din cauza Ta port eu disprețul,
și rușinea mi‑a acoperit fața.
8Am ajuns un străin pentru frații mei
și un necunoscut pentru fiii mamei mele.
9Căci zelul pentru Casa Ta m‑a mistuit
și insultele celor ce Te insultă au căzut asupra mea.
10Plâng în timp ce postesc,
și ei mă disprețuiesc.
11Când fac din sacul de jale îmbrăcămintea mea,
devin pentru ei un proverb.
12Cei ce stau la poartă vorbesc despre mine;
am ajuns în cântecele celor ce beau băutură tare.
13Totuși, eu tot Ție mă voi ruga, Doamne,
pentru vremea bunăvoinței Tale.
Dumnezeule, în marea Ta îndurare,
răspunde‑mi cu izbăvirea Ta sigură!
14Scapă‑mă din noroi, să nu mă afund!
Să fiu scăpat de cei ce mă urăsc și din adâncurile apei!
15Să nu se reverse peste mine șuvoiul apelor,
să nu mă înghită adâncul,
să nu se închidă deasupra‑mi gura gropii!
16Doamne, răspunde‑mi, căci îndurarea Ta este atât de bună16 Sau: plăcută.!
După mila Ta cea mare, întoarce‑Ți fața spre mine!
17Nu‑Ți ascunde fața de robul Tău, căci sunt în necaz,
ci răspunde‑mi degrabă!
18Apropie‑Te de sufletul meu și răscumpără‑mi‑l!
Din cauza dușmanilor mei, scapă‑mă!
19Tu cunoști disprețul, rușinea și insulta de care am parte;
toți vrăjmașii mei sunt înaintea Ta.
20Disprețul mi‑a frânt inima,
mi‑a îmbolnăvit‑o.
Tânjesc după compasiune, dar nu este,
după mângâietori, dar nu găsesc niciunul.
21Ci ei îmi pun fiere în mâncare,
iar pentru setea mea îmi dau să beau oțet.
22Să li se prefacă masa dinaintea lor într‑o cursă,
iar bunăstarea – într‑un laț!
23Să li se întunece ochii ca să nu mai vadă!
Să li se clatine mereu coapsele!
24Varsă‑Ți furia peste ei
și să‑i ajungă mânia Ta aprinsă!
25Fie‑le locuința pustiită
și nimeni să nu mai locuiască în corturile lor!
26Și aceasta pentru că ei urmăresc pe cel lovit de Tine
și povestesc suferința celor răniți de Tine.
27Adaugă alte nelegiuiri la nelegiuirile lor
și fă să nu ajungă la dreptatea Ta!
28Șterge‑i din Cartea celor vii
și nu‑i scrie alături de cei drepți!
29Eu însă sunt necăjit și îndurerat.
Fie ca izbăvirea Ta, Dumnezeule,
să mă pună la adăpost într‑un loc înalt!
30Voi lăuda prin cântare Numele lui Dumnezeu
și‑L voi mări cu mulțumiri!
31Acest lucru va fi mai plăcut Domnului decât un bou,
decât un taur cu coarne și copite.
32Cei necăjiți văd și se bucură.
Trăiască inima voastră, a celor ce căutați pe Dumnezeu,
33căci Domnul îi ascultă pe cei nevoiași
și nu‑i disprețuiește pe cei luați captivi dintre ai Lui.
34Să‑L laude cerurile și pământul,
mările și tot ce mișună în ele,
35căci Dumnezeu va izbăvi Sionul
și va construi cetățile lui Iuda!
Ei vor locui acolo și le vor moșteni;
36sămânța robilor Săi le va moșteni
și cei ce iubesc Numele Lui vor locui acolo.

1Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.
2I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.69.2 deep mire: Heb. the mire of depth69.2 deep waters: Heb. depth of waters
3I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
4They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.
5O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.69.5 sins: Heb. guiltiness
6Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.
7Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.
8I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother’s children.
9For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
10When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.
11I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.
12They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.69.12 drunkards: Heb. drinkers of strong drink
13But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
14Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
15Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.
16Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
17And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.69.17 hear…: Heb. make haste to hear me
18Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.
19Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee.
20Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.69.20 to take…: Heb. to lament with me
21They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
23Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
24Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
25Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.69.25 their habitation: Heb. their palace69.25 let none…: Heb. let there not be a dweller
26For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.69.26 those…: Heb. thy wounded
27Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.69.27 iniquity unto…: or, punishment of iniquity, etc
28Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
29But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.
30I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
31This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.
32The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.69.32 humble: or, meek
33For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.
34Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein.69.34 moveth: Heb. creepeth
35For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.
36The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.
