Psalmul 68
Pentru dirijor. Un psalm al lui David. O cântare.
1Când Dumnezeu Se ridică,
dușmanii Lui să fie împrăștiați
și cei ce‑L urăsc să fugă dinaintea feței Sale.
2Îi risipești precum se risipește fumul.
Precum se topește ceara din cauza focului,
așa pier cei răi dinaintea lui Dumnezeu.2 Sau: Să Se ridice Dumnezeu! Să‑I fie împrăștiați dușmanii! / Să‑I fugă dinainte vrăjmașii! / Risipește‑i precum se risipește fumul! / Precum se topește ceara din cauza focului, / așa să piară cei răi dinaintea lui Dumnezeu!
3Cei drepți însă se bucură,
se veselesc înaintea lui Dumnezeu
și chiuie de bucurie.
4Cântați‑I lui Dumnezeu, cântați spre lauda Numelui Său!
Înălțați‑L pe Cel Ce călărește pe nori4 Sau: Lui! Pregătiți calea pentru Cel Ce călărește prin pustie.,
al Cărui Nume este Domnul4 Ebr.: YAH, o formă prescurtată a tetragramei divine YHWH, formă care apare în componența mai multor sintagme ebraice. Vezi și v. 18; Ps. 77:11.. Veseliți‑vă înaintea Lui!
5În Lăcașul Său cel sfânt,
Dumnezeu este tatăl orfanilor și apărătorul văduvelor.5 Dumnezeu este comparat aici cu un judecător care face dreptate și‑i sprijină pe cei sărmani.
6Dumnezeu dă o familie celor însingurați
și îi conduce spre belșug6 Sau: cântând. pe prizonieri.
Cei răzvrătiți însă locuiesc într‑un ținut arid.
7Dumnezeule, când ai ieșit înaintea poporului Tău,
când ai mărșăluit prin pustie… Selah
8pământul s‑a cutremurat,
cerurile au picurat
înaintea lui Dumnezeu, Cel al Sinaiului8 Sau: cerurile au picurat / înaintea lui Dumnezeu, / chiar și Sinaiul, / înaintea lui Dumnezeu, Dumnezeul lui Israel.,
înaintea lui Dumnezeu, Dumnezeul lui Israel.
9Dumnezeule, Tu ai legănat ca daruri de bunăvoie ploile;
Tu Ți‑ai întărit moștenirea, când a fost obosită.
10Adunarea Ta a locuit în ea;
Tu ai pregătit bunătățile Tale pentru cel sărac, Dumnezeule!
11Stăpânul a rostit un cuvânt;
purtătoarele de vești sunt o mare oștire:
12„Regii oștirilor fug, fug,
iar cea rămasă acasă împarte prada.
13Chiar în timp ce voi vă odihniți printre staule13 Sau: traiste. Sensul termenului ebraic este nesigur.,
aripile porumbelului sunt acoperite cu argint,
iar penele lui cu aur sclipitor.“
14Când i‑a împrăștiat Cel Atotputernic14 Ebr.: Șadai pe regi,
ningea în Țalmon.
15Muntele Bașanului este un munte al lui Dumnezeu;
muntele Bașanului este un munte cu multe piscuri.
16Munți cu multe piscuri, de ce invidiați muntele
unde Îi place lui Dumnezeu să locuiască?
Cu siguranță Domnul va sălășlui acolo pe vecie.
17Carele lui Dumnezeu sunt cu miile și cu miile de mii.
Stăpânul se află printre ele, în Sinai, în Sfântul Lăcaș.17 Sau: în sfințenie.
18Te‑ai suit în înălțime, ai luat captivă captivitatea.
Ai luat daruri printre oameni,
chiar și printre cei răzvrătiți,
pentru ca ei, Doamne Dumnezeule18 Sau: ca Domnul Dumnezeu., să locuiască acolo.
19Binecuvântat să fie Stăpânul, Care ne poartă poverile zi de zi,
Dumnezeul izbăvirii noastre. Selah
20Dumnezeul nostru este un Dumnezeu al izbăvirilor.
De la Domnul, Stăpânul meu, vine scăparea de moarte.
21Cu siguranță Dumnezeu va zdrobi capul dușmanilor Săi,
creștetul celor ce umblă în nelegiuirile lor.
22Stăpânul a zis: „Îi voi aduce înapoi din Bașan,
îi voi aduce înapoi din adâncurile mării,
23ca să‑ți înmoi picioarele în sânge,
iar limba câinilor tăi să‑și ia partea din dușmanii tăi.“
24Dumnezeule, ei privesc procesiunea intrării Tale,
procesiunea a intrării Dumnezeului meu, a Împăratului meu, în Lăcașul cel sfânt.
25În față merg cântăreții, urmați de cei cu instrumente,
iar în centru sunt fetele cu tamburine.
26Binecuvântați‑L pe Dumnezeu în adunări,
pe Domnul – la izvoarele lui Israel!26 Sau: pe Domnul – cei care sunteți din fântâna lui Israel (cu referire la israeliți, care provin din Iacov). Sau: pe Domnul – în adunarea lui Israel!
27Acolo se află și tânărul Beniamin, conducătorul lor,
căpeteniile lui Iuda cu mulțimile lor,
căpeteniile lui Zabulon, căpeteniile lui Neftali.
28Dumnezeul tău te‑a făcut puternic.
Arată‑ne puterea Ta, Dumnezeule,
așa cum ai făcut și înainte pentru noi!
29Datorită Templului Tău de la Ierusalim,
regii Îți vor aduce un dar.
30Mustră fiara dintre trestii,
cireada de tauri dintre vițeii popoarelor,
care calcă în picioare bucățile de argint!
El a împrăștiat popoarele30 Sau: Împrăștie popoarele. care‑și găsesc plăcerea în război!
31Ambasadori vor veni din Egipt;
Cuș31 Regiunea Nilului Superior; Etiopia și teritoriile învecinate. va alerga cu mâinile31 Lit.: își va grăbi mâinile, în sensul aducerii unui tribut, în sensul supunerii. întinse spre Dumnezeu.
32Regate ale pământului, cântați‑I lui Dumnezeu,
cântați spre lauda Stăpânului, Selah
33a Celui Ce călărește în ceruri, în cerurile veșnice!
Iată, El face cu glasul Său un vuiet puternic!
34Proclamați puterea lui Dumnezeu,
a Cărui maiestate este peste Israel
și a Cărui putere este în ceruri.
35Cât de temut ești Tu, Dumnezeule, din sanctuarele Tale!
Dumnezeul lui Israel, chiar El dă putere și tărie poporului!
Binecuvântat să fie Dumnezeu!

1May God arise, may his enemies be scattered;
may his foes flee before him.
2May you blow them away like smoke—
as wax melts before the fire,
may the wicked perish before God.
3But may the righteous be glad
and rejoice before God;
may they be happy and joyful.
4Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds68:4 Or name, / prepare the way for him who rides through the deserts;
rejoice before him—his name is the Lord.
5A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.
6God sets the lonely in families,68:6 Or the desolate in a homeland
he leads out the prisoners with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
7When you, God, went out before your people,
when you marched through the wilderness,68:7 The Hebrew has Selah (a word of uncertain meaning) here and at the end of verses 19 and 32.
8the earth shook, the heavens poured down rain,
before God, the One of Sinai,
before God, the God of Israel.
9You gave abundant showers, O God;
you refreshed your weary inheritance.
10Your people settled in it,
and from your bounty, God, you provided for the poor.
11The Lord announces the word,
and the women who proclaim it are a mighty throng:
12“Kings and armies flee in haste;
the women at home divide the plunder.
13Even while you sleep among the sheep pens,68:13 Or the campfires; or the saddlebags
the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver,
its feathers with shining gold.”
14When the Almighty68:14 Hebrew Shaddai scattered the kings in the land,
it was like snow fallen on Mount Zalmon.
15Mount Bashan, majestic mountain,
Mount Bashan, rugged mountain,
16why gaze in envy, you rugged mountain,
at the mountain where God chooses to reign,
where the Lord himself will dwell forever?
17The chariots of God are tens of thousands
and thousands of thousands;
the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary.68:17 Probable reading of the original Hebrew text; Masoretic Text Lord is among them at Sinai in holiness
18When you ascended on high,
you took many captives;
you received gifts from people,
even from68:18 Or gifts for people, / even the rebellious—
that you,68:18 Or they Lord God, might dwell there.
19Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,
who daily bears our burdens.
20Our God is a God who saves;
from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.
21Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies,
the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.
22The Lord says, “I will bring them from Bashan;
I will bring them from the depths of the sea,
23that your feet may wade in the blood of your foes,
while the tongues of your dogs have their share.”
24Your procession, God, has come into view,
the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary.
25In front are the singers, after them the musicians;
with them are the young women playing the timbrels.
26Praise God in the great congregation;
praise the Lord in the assembly of Israel.
27There is the little tribe of Benjamin, leading them,
there the great throng of Judah’s princes,
and there the princes of Zebulun and of Naphtali.
28Summon your power, God68:28 Many Hebrew manuscripts, Septuagint and Syriac; most Hebrew manuscripts Your God has summoned power for you;
show us your strength, our God, as you have done before.
29Because of your temple at Jerusalem
kings will bring you gifts.
30Rebuke the beast among the reeds,
the herd of bulls among the calves of the nations.
Humbled, may the beast bring bars of silver.
Scatter the nations who delight in war.
31Envoys will come from Egypt;
Cush68:31 That is, the upper Nile region will submit herself to God.
32Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth,
sing praise to the Lord,
33to him who rides across the highest heavens, the ancient heavens,
who thunders with mighty voice.
34Proclaim the power of God,
whose majesty is over Israel,
whose power is in the heavens.
35You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary;
the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.
