Psalmul 115
1Nu nouă, Doamne, nu nouă,
ci Numelui Tău să‑i fie adusă slava,
pentru îndurarea și credincioșia Ta!
2Pentru ce să zică neamurile:
„Unde le este Dumnezeul?“
3Dumnezeul nostru însă este în ceruri;
El face tot ce dorește.
4Idolii lor sunt din argint și din aur,
sunt lucrarea mâinilor omenești.
5Ei au gură, dar nu vorbesc,
au ochi, dar nu văd,
6au urechi, dar nu aud,
au nas, dar nu pot mirosi,
7au mâini, dar nu pot pipăi,
au picioare, dar nu pot umbla,
iar din gâtlej nu pot scoate niciun sunet.
8Ca ei sunt cei care‑i fac
și toți cei care se încred în ei.
9Israel, încrede‑te în Domnul –
El este ajutorul și scutul lui!
10Casă a lui Aaron, încrede‑te în Domnul –
El este ajutorul și scutul lui!
11Cei temători de Domnul, încredeți‑vă în Domnul –
El este ajutorul și scutul lor!
12Domnul Își aduce aminte de noi și dă binecuvântare:
El binecuvântează Casa lui Israel,
binecuvântează Casa lui Aaron,
13îi binecuvântează pe cei ce se tem de Domnul,
de la cei mici până la cei mari.
14Să vă înmulțească Domnul,
pe voi și pe fiii voștri!
15Să fiți binecuvântați de Domnul,
Creatorul cerurilor și al pământului.
16Cerurile, cerurile sunt ale Domnului,
dar pământul l‑a dat fiilor omului.
17Nu morții Îi dau laudă Domnului17 Ebr.: YAH, o formă prescurtată a tetragramei divine YHWH, formă care apare în componența mai multor sintagme ebraice. Vezi și v. 18; 116:19; 117:2.,
nici cei ce se coboară în tăcere,
18ci noi Îl vom binecuvânta pe Domnul,
de acum și până în veci.

Psalm 115
1Not to us, Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness.
2Why do the nations say,
“Where is their God?”
3Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever pleases him.
4But their idols are silver and gold,
made by human hands.
5They have mouths, but cannot speak,
eyes, but cannot see.
6They have ears, but cannot hear,
noses, but cannot smell.
7They have hands, but cannot feel,
feet, but cannot walk,
nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
8Those who make them will be like them,
and so will all who trust in them.
9All you Israelites, trust in the Lord—
he is their help and shield.
10House of Aaron, trust in the Lord—
he is their help and shield.
11You who fear him, trust in the Lord—
he is their help and shield.
12The Lord remembers us and will bless us:
He will bless his people Israel,
he will bless the house of Aaron,
13he will bless those who fear the Lord—
small and great alike.
14May the Lord cause you to flourish,
both you and your children.
15May you be blessed by the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
16The highest heavens belong to the Lord,
but the earth he has given to mankind.
17It is not the dead who praise the Lord,
those who go down to the place of silence;
18it is we who extol the Lord,
both now and forevermore.
