Responsabilitățile chehatiților
1Domnul le‑a vorbit lui Moise și Aaron, zicând: 2„Numărați‑i pe fiii lui Chehat separat de ceilalți leviți, după clanurile și familiile lor, 3de la vârsta de treizeci de ani în sus3 Probabil că primii cinci ani erau o perioadă de ucenicie (vezi 8:24)., până la vârsta de cincizeci de ani, pe oricine poate veni la datorie ca să facă vreo lucrare în Cortul Întâlnirii.
4Aceasta este slujirea fiilor lui Chehat în Cortul Întâlnirii: se vor îngriji de lucrurile preasfinte.4 Sau: la Cortul Întâlnirii: Sfânta Sfintelor. 5La pornirea taberei, Aaron și fiii săi să intre, să dea jos draperia despărțitoare și să acopere Chivotul Mărturiei cu ea. 6Apoi să pună deasupra ei o învelitoare din piele trainică6 Sau: piele de delfin. Vezi nota de la Ex. 25:5, și în continuare v. 8, 10-12, 14. și să întindă peste aceasta o acoperitoare în întregime de culoare albastră, după care să îi pună drugii.
7Peste masa prezentării să întindă o acoperitoare de culoare albastră și să pună pe ea farfuriile, vasele pentru tămâie, urcioarele și bolurile pentru jertfele de băutură. Pâinea prezentării să fie pe ea. 8Să întindă peste acestea o acoperitoare de culoare cărămizie, iar peste aceasta să pună o învelitoare din piele trainică. Apoi să‑i pună mesei drugii.
9Să ia o învelitoare de culoare albastră și să acopere sfeșnicul pentru luminat cu candelele lui, mucarnițele lui, tăvițele lui și toate vasele pentru untdelemn folosite la întrebuințarea lui. 10Să‑l pună cu toate obiectele lui într‑o învelitoare din piele trainică și să‑l așeze pe targă.
11Peste altarul de aur să întindă o acoperitoare de culoare albastră, iar peste aceasta să pună o învelitoare din piele trainică. Apoi să‑i pună drugii.
12Să ia apoi toate uneltele pentru slujbă, cu care ei slujesc în Lăcaș, să le pună într‑o acoperitoare de culoare albastră, să le acopere cu o învelitoare din piele trainică și să le pună pe targă.
13Să ia cenușa de pe altar și să întindă peste altar o acoperitoare de culoare purpurie. 14Să pună pe el toate uneltele lui cu care ei slujesc acolo: fărașele pentru cărbuni, furculițele, lopețile, vasele, toate uneltele altarului. Să întindă peste el o învelitoare din piele trainică și să‑i pună drugii.
15După ce Aaron și fiii săi vor termina de acoperit Lăcașul și toate lucrurile Lăcașului, iar tabăra va fi gata de pornire, fiii lui Chehat să vină și să ducă aceste lucruri. Dar să nu atingă niciunul din lucrurile sfinte pentru că vor muri. Acestea sunt poverile fiilor lui Chehat în Cortul Întâlnirii.
16Elazar, fiul preotului Aaron, va fi responsabil de untdelemnul pentru luminat, de tămâia mirositoare, de darul de mâncare continuu, de untdelemnul pentru ungere, de tot Tabernaculul cu tot ce este în el, de Lăcaș și de obiectele lui.“
17Domnul le‑a vorbit lui Moise și Aaron, zicând: 18„Să nu lăsați să fie nimicită din mijlocul leviților seminția clanurilor chehatiților. 19Iată ce să faceți pentru ei, ca să trăiască și să nu moară atunci când se vor apropia de lucrurile preasfinte: Aaron și fiii lui să vină și să pună pe fiecare din ei la slujba lui și la povara lui. 20Să nu intre să se uite când lucrurile sfinte sunt învelite, pentru că altfel vor muri.“
Responsabilitățile gherșoniților
21Apoi Domnul i‑a vorbit lui Moise, zicând: 22„Numără‑i și pe fiii lui Gherșon, după familiile părinților lor, după clanurile lor. 23Să numeri de la vârsta de treizeci de ani în sus, până la vârsta de cincizeci de ani, pe oricine poate veni la datorie ca să facă vreo lucrare în Cortul Întâlnirii.
24Aceasta este slujirea clanurilor gherșoniților, atunci când lucrează și duc poverile: 25să ducă draperiile Tabernaculului, Cortul Întâlnirii cu învelitoarea lui, acoperitoarea din piei trainice25 Vezi nota de la v. 6. care se pune deasupra, draperia de la intrarea în Cortul Întâlnirii, 26draperiile curții, draperia de la intrarea pe poarta curții care înconjoară Tabernaculul și altarul, funiile lor și toate obiectele pentru slujba lor. Să slujească potrivit cu tot ceea ce trebuie făcut pentru acestea. 27Toată slujirea fiilor gherșoniților cu privire la orice povară dată lor și la orice slujbă a lor să fie făcută la porunca lui Aaron și a fiilor săi. Să aibă ca îndatorire orice povară dată lor. 28Aceasta este slujirea clanurilor fiilor gherșoniților la Cortul Întâlnirii. Îndatorirea lor să fie sub conducerea lui Itamar, fiul preotului Aaron.
Responsabilitățile merariților
29Cu privire la fiii lui Merari, să‑i numeri după clanurile și familiile lor. 30Să‑i numeri de la vârsta de treizeci de ani în sus, până la vârsta de cincizeci de ani, pe oricine vine la datorie ca să facă vreo lucrare la Cortul Întâlnirii. 31Aceasta este îndatorirea lor cu privire la poverile date lor, potrivit cu toată slujirea lor la Cortul Întâlnirii: scândurile Tabernaculului cu drugii lor, stâlpii, piedestalele, 32stâlpii curții de jur împrejur, piedestalele lor, țărușii lor și funiile lor, toate obiectele lor și tot ce este nevoie pentru slujba lor. Să menționați pe nume obiectele pe care au îndatorirea să le ducă. 33Aceasta este slujirea clanurilor fiilor lui Merari, toată slujirea lor la Cortul Întâlnirii, sub conducerea lui Itamar, fiul preotului Aaron.“
Recensământul clanurilor leviților
34Moise, Aaron și conducătorii comunității i‑au numărat pe fiii lui Chehat, potrivit clanurilor și familiilor lor, 35de la vârsta de treizeci de ani în sus, până la vârsta de cincizeci de ani, pe oricine putea să vină la datorie, pentru vreo lucrare la Cortul Întâlnirii. 36Cei ce au fost numărați potrivit clanurilor lor au fost două mii șapte sute cincizeci de oameni. 37Aceștia au fost cei numărați din clanurile chehatiților, oricine slujea în Cortul Întâlnirii, pe care Moise și Aaron i‑au numărat după porunca Domnului dată prin Moise.
38Cei numărați dintre fiii lui Gherșon, potrivit clanurilor lor și potrivit familiilor părinților lor, 39de la vârsta de treizeci de ani în sus, până la vârsta de cincizeci de ani, oricine putea să vină la datorie, pentru vreo lucrare în Cortul Întâlnirii, 40cei numărați potrivit clanurilor lor și potrivit familiilor părinților lor au fost două mii șase sute treizeci de oameni. 41Aceștia au fost cei numărați din clanurile fiilor lui Gherșon, oricine slujea în Cortul Întâlnirii, pe care Moise și Aaron i‑au numărat după porunca Domnului dată lui Moise.
42Cei numărați din clanurile fiilor lui Merari, potrivit clanurilor lor, potrivit familiilor părinților lor, 43de la vârsta de treizeci de ani în sus, până la vârsta de cincizeci de ani, oricine putea veni la datorie, pentru vreo lucrare în Cortul Întâlnirii, 44cei numărați potrivit clanurilor lor au fost trei mii două sute de oameni. 45Aceștia au fost cei numărați din clanurile fiilor lui Merari, pe care Moise și Aaron i‑au numărat după porunca Domnului dată prin Moise.
46Toți cei numărați dintre leviți, pe care Moise, Aaron și conducătorii lui Israel i‑au numărat potrivit clanurilor lor și potrivit familiilor părinților lor, 47de la vârsta de treizeci de ani în sus, până la vârsta de cincizeci de ani, oricine venise la Cortul Întâlnirii ca să facă vreo lucrare și să ducă vreo povară, 48cei numărați au fost opt mii cinci sute optzeci de oameni. 49El i‑a numărat după porunca Domnului dată prin Moise, pe fiecare potrivit cu slujba lui și cu povara dată lui.
Și astfel ei au fost numărați de el, așa cum Domnul îi poruncise lui Moise.
1And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, 2Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, after their families, by the house of their fathers, 3From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation. 4This shall be the service of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation, about the most holy things:
5¶ And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it: 6And shall put thereon the covering of badgers’ skins, and shall spread over it a cloth wholly of blue, and shall put in the staves thereof. 7And upon the table of shewbread they shall spread a cloth of blue, and put thereon the dishes, and the spoons, and the bowls, and covers to cover withal: and the continual bread shall be thereon:4.7 cover…: or, pour out withal 8And they shall spread upon them a cloth of scarlet, and cover the same with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put in the staves thereof. 9And they shall take a cloth of blue, and cover the candlestick of the light, and his lamps, and his tongs, and his snuffdishes, and all the oil vessels thereof, wherewith they minister unto it: 10And they shall put it and all the vessels thereof within a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put it upon a bar. 11And upon the golden altar they shall spread a cloth of blue, and cover it with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put to the staves thereof: 12And they shall take all the instruments of ministry, wherewith they minister in the sanctuary, and put them in a cloth of blue, and cover them with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put them on a bar: 13And they shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth thereon: 14And they shall put upon it all the vessels thereof, wherewith they minister about it, even the censers, the fleshhooks, and the shovels, and the basons, all the vessels of the altar; and they shall spread upon it a covering of badgers’ skins, and put to the staves of it.4.14 basons: or, bowls 15And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.
16¶ And to the office of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest pertaineth the oil for the light, and the sweet incense, and the daily meat offering, and the anointing oil, and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that therein is, in the sanctuary, and in the vessels thereof.
17¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, 18Cut ye not off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites: 19But thus do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach unto the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in, and appoint them every one to his service and to his burden: 20But they shall not go in to see when the holy things are covered, lest they die.
21¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 22Take also the sum of the sons of Gershon, throughout the houses of their fathers, by their families; 23From thirty years old and upward until fifty years old shalt thou number them; all that enter in to perform the service, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.4.23 to perform…: Heb. to war the warfare 24This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, to serve, and for burdens:4.24 burdens: or, carriage 25And they shall bear the curtains of the tabernacle, and the tabernacle of the congregation, his covering, and the covering of the badgers’ skins that is above upon it, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, 26And the hangings of the court, and the hanging for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar round about, and their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and all that is made for them: so shall they serve. 27At the appointment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burdens, and in all their service: and ye shall appoint unto them in charge all their burdens.4.27 appointment: Heb. mouth 28This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation: and their charge shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
29¶ As for the sons of Merari, thou shalt number them after their families, by the house of their fathers; 30From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old shalt thou number them, every one that entereth into the service, to do the work of the tabernacle of the congregation.4.30 service: Heb. warfare 31And this is the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the tabernacle of the congregation; the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and sockets thereof, 32And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords, with all their instruments, and with all their service: and by name ye shall reckon the instruments of the charge of their burden. 33This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the tabernacle of the congregation, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
34¶ And Moses and Aaron and the chief of the congregation numbered the sons of the Kohathites after their families, and after the house of their fathers, 35From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation: 36And those that were numbered of them by their families were two thousand seven hundred and fifty. 37These were they that were numbered of the families of the Kohathites, all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, which Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses. 38And those that were numbered of the sons of Gershon, throughout their families, and by the house of their fathers, 39From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation, 40Even those that were numbered of them, throughout their families, by the house of their fathers, were two thousand and six hundred and thirty. 41These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, of all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, whom Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD.
42¶ And those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, throughout their families, by the house of their fathers, 43From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation, 44Even those that were numbered of them after their families, were three thousand and two hundred. 45These be those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses. 46All those that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron and the chief of Israel numbered, after their families, and after the house of their fathers, 47From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that came to do the service of the ministry, and the service of the burden in the tabernacle of the congregation, 48Even those that were numbered of them, were eight thousand and five hundred and fourscore. 49According to the commandment of the LORD they were numbered by the hand of Moses, every one according to his service, and according to his burden: thus were they numbered of him, as the LORD commanded Moses.
