1Așa vorbește Domnul către unsul Său,
către Cirus, pe care l‑am apucat de mâna dreaptă
ca să supună neamurile înaintea lui
și să dezlege brâul împăraților,
ca să deschidă porțile înaintea lui,
porți ce nu vor mai fi închise:
2«Eu Însumi voi merge înaintea ta
și voi netezi munții2 Q, LXX. Sensul termenului în TM este nesigur.;
voi sparge ușile de bronz
și voi tăia barele de fier;
3îți voi da vistieriile întunericului,
bogății ascunse în locuri secrete,
ca să știi că Eu sunt Domnul,
Dumnezeul lui Israel, Care te chem pe nume.
4De dragul robului Meu Iacov,
al alesului Meu Israel,
te chem pe nume,
îți dau un nume de onoare,
deși tu nu Mă cunoști.
5Eu sunt Domnul, nu este altul;
în afară de Mine nu există un alt Dumnezeu!
Te voi încinge, deși tu nu Mă cunoști,
6pentru ca oamenii să cunoască,
de la răsăritul soarelui și până la apus,
că nu există un altul în afară de Mine;
Eu sunt Domnul, nu este altul!
7Eu întocmesc lumina și creez întunericul;
Eu fac pacea și creez dezastrul;
Eu, Domnul, fac toate acestea!»
8Picurați, voi, ceruri de sus!
Să plouă din nori dreptatea!
Să se deschidă pământul larg
și să răsară mântuirea!
Să răsară și dreptatea împreună cu ea!
Eu, Domnul, le‑am creat.
9Vai de cel ce se ceartă cu Cel Care l‑a întocmit,
de cel care nu este decât un vas de pământ printre altele la fel!
Îi va spune oare lutul celui care‑l întocmește: «Ce faci?»
sau: «El n‑are mâini!»?
10Vai de cel ce‑i zice tatălui său: «Ce‑ai zămislit?»
sau mamei sale: «Ce‑ai adus pe lume?»“
11Așa vorbește Domnul,
Sfântul lui Israel, și Cel Care l‑a întocmit:
„Cu privire la cele viitoare,
îndrăzniți să Mă întrebați despre copiii Mei?
Îmi veți porunci cu privire la lucrarea mâinilor Mele?
12Eu am făcut pământul
și am creat omul pe el.
Propriile Mele mâini au desfășurat cerurile
și Eu am poruncit întregii lor oștiri.
13Eu l‑am ridicat pe Cirus, în dreptatea Mea,
și‑i voi netezi toate căile.
El va rezidi cetatea Mea
și îi va elibera pe exilații Mei,
nu pentru vreun preț sau vreo răsplată,
zice Domnul Oștirilor.“
14Așa vorbește Domnul:
„Produsele Egiptului și mărfurile din Cuș14 Vezi nota de la 11:11.,
precum și sabeenii înalți la statură,
vor veni spre tine și îți vor aparține;
vor veni în lanțuri în urma ta.
Se vor pleca înaintea ta
și ți se vor ruga, zicând:
«Recunoaștem că Dumnezeu este cu tine!
Alt Dumnezeu nu este!
Nu există un alt Dumnezeu în afară de El!»“
15Cu adevărat, Tu ești un Dumnezeu Care Se ascunde.
O, Dumnezeu al lui Israel, Mântuitorule!
16Făcuți de rușine și umiliți vor fi cu toții;
cuprinși de rușine vor umbla împreună,
toți făuritorii de idoli.
17Dar Israel va fi mântuit de Domnul
cu o mântuire veșnică;
voi nu veți mai fi făcuți de rușine,
nici umiliți, pe vecie.
18Căci așa vorbește Domnul,
Cel Care a creat cerurile –
El este Dumnezeu –
Cel Care a întocmit și a făcut pământul –
El l‑a întemeiat
și nu l‑a creat ca să fie pustiu18 Sau, posibil, fără formă. Vezi v. 19 și Gen. 1:2, unde este folosit același termen ebraic.,
ci l‑a întocmit ca să fie locuit:
„Eu sunt Domnul, nu există altul!
19Eu nu am vorbit în ascuns,
în vreun colț întunecos al pământului;
nu am zis seminței lui Iacov:
«Căutați‑Mă în pustiu!»
Eu, Domnul, spun adevărul,
fac cunoscut ce este drept.
20Strângeți‑vă! Veniți!
Apropiați‑vă cu toții,
voi supraviețuitori dintre neamuri!
Fără minte sunt cei care își poartă lemnul chipului cioplit,
și se roagă unui dumnezeu
care nu poate mântui.
21Vorbiți! Aduceți înainte cazul vostru!
Să se sfătuiască împreună!
Cine a făcut auzit acest lucru încă de timpuriu
și l‑a vestit de demult?
Oare nu Eu, Domnul?
Nu există alt Dumnezeu în afară de Mine,
Dumnezeu drept și Mântuitor;
nu este altul în afară de Mine!
22Întoarceți‑vă la Mine și veți fi mântuiți,
toți cei ce locuiți până la marginile pământului,
căci Eu sunt Dumnezeu, nu există altul!
23Am jurat pe Mine Însumi;
gura Mea a rostit, cu dreptate,
un cuvânt ce nu va fi retras:
orice genunchi se va apleca înaintea Mea
și orice limbă va jura,
24zicând despre Mine: «Numai în Domnul
este dreptate și putere!»“
Toți cei ce au fost mâniați pe El
vor veni la El și vor fi făcuți de rușine.
25În Domnul vor fi îndreptățiți și se vor lăuda
toți urmașii25 Lit.: toată sămânța. lui Israel.

to open doors before him

2I will go before you

I will break down gates of bronze
and cut through bars of iron.
3I will give you hidden treasures,
riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the Lord,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
4For the sake of Jacob my servant,
of Israel my chosen,
I summon you by name
and bestow on you a title of honor,
though you do not acknowledge me.
5I am the Lord, and there is no other;
apart from me there is no God.
I will strengthen you,
though you have not acknowledged me,
6so that from the rising of the sun
to the place of its setting
people may know there is none besides me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other.
7I form the light and create darkness,
I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the Lord, do all these things.
8“You heavens above, rain down my righteousness;
let the clouds shower it down.
Let the earth open wide,
let salvation spring up,
let righteousness flourish with it;
I, the Lord, have created it.
9“Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker,
those who are nothing but potsherds
among the potsherds on the ground.
Does the clay say to the potter,
‘What are you making?’
Does your work say,
‘The potter has no hands’?
10Woe to the one who says to a father,
‘What have you begotten?’
or to a mother,
‘What have you brought to birth?’
11“This is what the Lord says—
the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker:
Concerning things to come,
do you question me about my children,
or give me orders about the work of my hands?
12It is I who made the earth
and created mankind on it.
My own hands stretched out the heavens;
I marshaled their starry hosts.
13I will raise up Cyrus45:13 Hebrew him in my righteousness:
I will make all his ways straight.
He will rebuild my city
and set my exiles free,
but not for a price or reward,
says the Lord Almighty.”
14This is what the Lord says:
“The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush,45:14 That is, the upper Nile region
and those tall Sabeans—
they will come over to you
and will be yours;
they will trudge behind you,
coming over to you in chains.
They will bow down before you
and plead with you, saying,
‘Surely God is with you, and there is no other;
there is no other god.’ ”
15Truly you are a God who has been hiding himself,
the God and Savior of Israel.
16All the makers of idols will be put to shame and disgraced;
they will go off into disgrace together.
17But Israel will be saved by the Lord
with an everlasting salvation;
you will never be put to shame or disgraced,
to ages everlasting.
18For this is what the Lord says—
he who created the heavens,
he is God;
he who fashioned and made the earth,
he founded it;
he did not create it to be empty,
but formed it to be inhabited—
he says:
“I am the Lord,
and there is no other.
19I have not spoken in secret,
from somewhere in a land of darkness;
I have not said to Jacob’s descendants,
‘Seek me in vain.’
I, the Lord, speak the truth;
I declare what is right.
20“Gather together and come;
assemble, you fugitives from the nations.
Ignorant are those who carry about idols of wood,
who pray to gods that cannot save.
21Declare what is to be, present it—
let them take counsel together.
Who foretold this long ago,
who declared it from the distant past?
Was it not I, the Lord?
And there is no God apart from me,
a righteous God and a Savior;
there is none but me.
22“Turn to me and be saved,
all you ends of the earth;
for I am God, and there is no other.
23By myself I have sworn,
my mouth has uttered in all integrity
a word that will not be revoked:
Before me every knee will bow;
by me every tongue will swear.
24They will say of me, ‘In the Lord alone
are deliverance and strength.’ ”
All who have raged against him
will come to him and be put to shame.
25But all the descendants of Israel
will find deliverance in the Lord
and will make their boast in him.
