Al doilea discurs al lui Bildad
1Atunci Bildad șuhitul a răspuns și a zis:
2„Până când veți pune curse cuvintelor?
Veniți‑vă în fire, și apoi vom vorbi!
3De ce suntem considerați ca niște vite?
De ce suntem proști3 Sau: necurați. în ochii voștri?
4Pentru tine, care te sfâșii în mânia ta,
să fie uitat pământul?
Sau să se mute stânca din locul ei?
5Cu siguranță, lumina celui rău se va stinge
și flacăra focului său nu va mai străluci.
6În cortul lui lumina devine întuneric,
se stinge candela deasupra lui.
7Puterea pașilor săi este slăbită.
Propriile‑i planuri îl trântesc la pământ.
8Picioarele îl împing în laț
și umblă deasupra unei capcane.
9O cursă îl prinde de călcâi,
o prinzătoare îl ține tare.
10Un laț îi este ascuns în pământ;
o cursă pentru el este pe cărare.
11Spaime se năpustesc asupra lui din toate părțile
și‑l urmăresc la fiecare pas.
12Puterea lui este slăbită de foame,
nenorocirea este pregătită pentru momentul căderii lui.
13Ele îi mănâncă părți din piele;
întâiul născut al morții îi devorează mădularele.
14Este smuls din siguranța cortului său
și este târât spre împăratul spaimelor.
15În cortul său locuiește focul15 Sau: Nu‑i mai rămâne nimic din cortul său.
și sulful este presărat peste locuința lui.
16Jos i se usucă rădăcinile,
iar sus i se ofilesc ramurile.
17Amintirea lui este ștearsă de pe pământ;
nu mai are niciun nume pe întinderea țării.
18Este tras de la lumină în întuneric
și este alungat din lume.
19El nu mai lasă nici moștenitori, nici urmași în poporul său
și niciun supraviețuitor în locurile unde a locuit.
20Cei din apus sunt înmărmuriți în ziua lui,
iar cei din răsărit sunt cuprinși de groază.
21Așa sunt locuințele celui nedrept,
așa este locul celui ce nu‑L cunoaște pe Dumnezeu.“

5Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine. 6The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him.18.6 candle: or, lamp 7The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down. 8For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare. 9The gin shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against him. 10The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.18.10 laid: Heb. hidden
11Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.18.11 drive: Heb. scatter 12His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side. 13It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his strength.18.13 strength: Heb. bars 14His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors. 15It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation. 16His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off. 17His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street. 18He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.18.18 He…: Heb.
