Profeție împotriva idolatrului Israel
1Cuvântul Domnului mi‑a vorbit, zicând: 2„Fiul omului, îndreaptă‑ți fața spre munții lui Israel și profețește împotriva lor. 3Să spui: «Munți ai lui Israel, ascultați Cuvântul Domnului Dumnezeu! Așa vorbește Stăpânul Domn către munți și către dealuri, către trecători și către văi: ‘Iată, voi aduce împotriva voastră sabia și vă voi nimici înălțimile. 4Altarele voastre vor fi pustiite și altarele voastre pentru tămâiere vor fi zdrobite. Voi face să cadă înaintea idolilor voștri cei înjunghiați dintre voi. 5Voi așeza cadavrele fiilor lui Israel înaintea idolilor lor și le voi împrăștia oasele de jur împrejurul altarelor lor. 6Pretutindeni unde veți locui, cetățile vor fi pustiite și înălțimile vor fi dărâmate, astfel încât altarele voastre vor fi pustiite și devastate, idolii voștri vor fi zdrobiți și desființați, altarele voastre pentru tămâiere vor fi dărâmate, iar lucrările voastre vor fi nimicite. 7Cel lovit de moarte va cădea înaintea ochilor voștri și veți ști atunci că Eu sunt Domnul.
8Voi lăsa însă în viață câțiva fugari de‑ai voștri, care vor scăpa de sabie printre neamuri, atunci când veți fi împrăștiați prin felurite țări. 9Acolo, printre neamurile unde au fost luați captivi, fugarii voștri își vor aminti de Mine, Cel Care am fost mâhnit din cauza inimii lor adultere, care s‑a îndepărtat de Mine, și din cauza ochilor lor adulteri, care au poftit după idolii lor. Atunci le va fi scârbă de toate răutățile pe care le‑au săvârșit și de toate urâciunile lor. 10Și vor ști astfel că Eu sunt Domnul și că nu în zadar am zis că le voi face răul acesta.’»“
11Așa vorbește Stăpânul Domn: „Bate din palme, dă din picioare și zi: «Vai!», din cauza tuturor urâciunilor și răutăților Casei lui Israel, care va fi doborâtă de sabie, de foamete și de molimă! 12Cel de departe va muri de molimă și cel de aproape va cădea ucis de sabie. Iar cel ce va fi lăsat și cruțat va muri de foame. Așa Îmi voi dezlănțui toată furia împotriva lor. 13Și vor ști că Eu sunt Domnul, atunci când cei străpunși ai lor vor zăcea printre idolii lor, împrejurul altarelor lor, pe orice deal înalt, pe orice vârf de munte, sub orice copac verde și sub orice terebint stufos, adică în toate locurile unde au ars tămâie mirositoare tuturor idolilor lor. 14Îmi voi întinde mâna împotriva lor și voi da țara pradă devastării și distrugerii din pustie până la Dibla, în toate așezările lor. Și vor ști astfel că Eu sunt Domnul.“
1And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them, 3And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places. 4And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your idols.6.4 images: or, sun images 5And I will lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.6.5 lay: Heb. give 6In all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.6.6 images: or, sun images 7And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
8¶ Yet will I leave a remnant, that ye may have some that shall escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries. 9And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations. 10And they shall know that I am the LORD, and that I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.
11¶ Thus saith the Lord GOD; Smite with thine hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say, Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence. 12He that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my fury upon them. 13Then shall ye know that I am the LORD, when their slain men shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols. 14So will I stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate, yea, more desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations: and they shall know that I am the LORD.6.14 more…: or, desolate from the wilderness
