Profeție împotriva amoniților
1Cuvântul Domnului mi‑a vorbit, zicând: 2„Fiul omului, îndreaptă‑ți fața spre fiii lui Amon și profețește împotriva lor. 3Să le spui fiilor lui Amon: «Ascultați Cuvântul Domnului Dumnezeu! Așa vorbește Stăpânul Domn: ‘Pentru că ați râs de Sfântul Meu Lăcaș când era pângărit, de țara lui Israel când era pustiită și de Casa lui Iuda când mergea în captivitate, 4iată, vă dau în stăpânirea fiilor Răsăritului. Ei își vor așeza taberele în mijlocul vostru și își vor ridica locuințe printre voi; vă vor mânca roadele și vă vor bea laptele. 5Voi face din Raba o pășune pentru cămile și din țara fiilor lui Amon o stână de oi. Și veți ști astfel că Eu sunt Domnul.’ 6Căci așa vorbește Stăpânul Domn: ‘Pentru că ai bătut din mâini și ai dat din picioare, pentru că te‑ai bucurat însuflețită de atâta dispreț față de țara lui Israel, 7iată, Îmi întind mâna împotriva ta și te dau ca pradă neamurilor. Te voi tăia din rândul popoarelor, te voi șterge din rândul țărilor și te voi nimici. Și vei ști astfel că Eu sunt Domnul’»“.
Profeție împotriva moabiților
8Așa vorbește Stăpânul Domn: „Pentru că Moabul și Seirul au zis: «Iată, Casa lui Iuda este ca toate celelalte neamuri!», 9de aceea iată‑Mă, deschid flancul Moabului dinspre cetăți, dinspre cetățile lui9 Sau: Moabului, lăsându‑l fără cetăți, fără cetățile lui. de la hotar, care sunt măreția țării, și anume: Bet‑Ieșimot, Baal-Meon și Chiriatayim, 10și‑l dau în stăpânirea fiilor Răsăritului, alături de fiii lui Amon, ca să nu mai fie amintit printre neamuri, ca în cazul fiilor lui Amon. 11Îmi voi împlini astfel judecățile împotriva Moabului. Și vor ști că Eu sunt Domnul.“
Profeție împotriva edomiților
12Așa vorbește Stăpânul Domn: „Pentru că Edomul s‑a dedat la răzbunare față de Casa lui Iuda, pentru că s‑a făcut vinovat și s‑a răzbunat pe ea, 13așa vorbește Stăpânul Domn: «Îmi voi întinde mâna împotriva Edomului și voi nimici din el atât oamenii, cât și animalele. Îl voi preface într‑o ruină și, de la Teman la Dedan, toți vor cădea uciși de sabie. 14Răzbunarea Mea împotriva Edomului va veni prin mâna poporului Meu Israel. El îi va face Edomului după mânia și furia Mea și astfel acesta va cunoaște răzbunarea Mea, zice Stăpânul Domn.»“
Profeție împotriva filistenilor
15Așa vorbește Stăpânul Domn: „Pentru că filistenii s‑au dedat la răzbunare, pentru că s‑au răzbunat însuflețiți de dispreț, cu dorință de nimicire, din cauza urii lor străvechi, 16așa vorbește Stăpânul Domn: «Iată, Îmi voi întinde mâna împotriva filistenilor, îi voi nimici pe cheretiți și voi prăpădi ce a mai rămas pe coasta mării. 17Le voi face parte de răzbunările Mele cele mari, aducând asupra lor strașnice pedepse. Când Mă voi răzbuna pe ei, vor ști că Eu sunt Domnul.»“
A prophecy against Ammon
1The word of the Lord came to me: 2‘Son of man, set your face against the Ammonites and prophesy against them. 3Say to them, “Hear the word of the Sovereign Lord. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: because you said ‘Aha!’ over my sanctuary when it was desecrated and over the land of Israel when it was laid waste and over the people of Judah when they went into exile, 4therefore I am going to give you to the people of the East as a possession. They will set up their camps and pitch their tents among you; they will eat your fruit and drink your milk. 5I will turn Rabbah into a pasture for camels and Ammon into a resting-place for sheep. Then you will know that I am the Lord. 6For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: because you have clapped your hands and stamped your feet, rejoicing with all the malice of your heart against the land of Israel, 7therefore I will stretch out my hand against you and give you as plunder to the nations. I will wipe you out from among the nations and exterminate you from the countries. I will destroy you, and you will know that I am the Lord.” ’
A prophecy against Moab
8‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Because Moab and Seir said, ‘Look, Judah has become like all the other nations,’ 9therefore I will expose the flank of Moab, beginning at its frontier towns – Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon and Kiriathaim – the glory of that land. 10I will give Moab along with the Ammonites to the people of the East as a possession, so that the Ammonites will not be remembered among the nations; 11and I will inflict punishment on Moab. Then they will know that I am the Lord.” ’
A prophecy against Edom
12‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Because Edom took revenge on Judah and became very guilty by doing so, 13therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and kill both man and beast. I will lay it waste, and from Teman to Dedan they will fall by the sword. 14I will take vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they will deal with Edom in accordance with my anger and my wrath; they will know my vengeance, declares the Sovereign Lord.” ’
A prophecy against Philistia
15‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Because the Philistines acted in vengeance and took revenge with malice in their hearts, and with ancient hostility sought to destroy Judah, 16therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am about to stretch out my hand against the Philistines, and I will wipe out the Kerethites and destroy those remaining along the coast. 17I will carry out great vengeance on them and punish them in my wrath. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I take vengeance on them.” ’
