Segundo discurso de Bildad
1Respondió entonces Bildad de Súah:
2«¿Cuándo pondrás fin a tanta palabrería?
Entra en razón y entonces hablaremos.
3¿Por qué nos tratas como si fuéramos bestias?
¿Por qué nos consideras unos tontos?
4Tú, que tu enojo te desgarra,
¿crees que por ti quedará desierta la tierra
y que las piedras se moverán de su lugar?
5»La lámpara del malvado se apagará;
la llama de su fuego dejará de arder.
6Languidece la luz de su morada;
la lámpara que lo alumbra se apagará.
7El vigor de sus pasos se irá debilitando;
sus propios planes lo derribarán.
8Sus pies lo harán caer en una trampa
y entre sus redes quedará atrapado.
9Quedará sujeto por los tobillos;
quedará atrapado por completo.
10Un lazo le espera escondido en el suelo;
una trampa está tendida a su paso.
11El terror lo asalta por doquier
y anda tras sus pasos.
12La calamidad lo acosa sin descanso;
el desastre no lo deja un solo instante.
13Carcome el cuerpo;
la muerte devora sus miembros.18:13 la muerte … sus miembros. Lit. devora sus miembros el primogénito de la muerte.
14Lejos de la seguridad de su morada,
marcha ahora hacia el rey de los terrores.
15El fuego se ha apoderado de su vivienda;18:15 El fuego … vivienda. Alt. En su vivienda, de lo suyo nada queda.
hay azufre ardiente esparcido en su morada.
16En el tronco, sus raíces se han secado;
en la copa, sus ramas se marchitan.
17Borrada de la tierra ha sido su memoria;
de su fama nada queda en el país.
18De la luz es lanzado a las tinieblas;
ha sido expulsado de este mundo.
19No tiene entre su pueblo hijos ni descendientes;
nadie le sobrevive donde él habitó.
20Del oriente al occidente
los pueblos se asombran de su ruina
y se estremecen de terror.
21Así es la morada del malvado,
el lugar del que no conoce a Dios».
The Second Speech of Bildad
1Then Bildad the Shuhite replied,
2“Job, when will you stop these speeches of yours?
Be reasonable! Then we can talk.
3Why do you look at us as if we were cattle?
Why do you think of us as being stupid?
4Your anger is tearing you to pieces.
Does the earth have to be deserted just to prove you are right?
Must all the rocks be moved from their places?
5“The lamps of sinful people are blown out.
Their flames will never burn again.
6The lights in their tents become dark.
The lamps beside those who are evil go out.
7They walk more slowly than they used to.
Their own evil plans make them fall.
8Their feet take them into a net.
They wander right into it.
9A trap grabs hold of their heels.
It refuses to let them go.
10A trap lies in their path.
A rope to catch them is hidden on the ground.
11Terrors alarm them on every side.
They follow them every step of the way.
12Trouble would like to eat them up.
Danger waits for them when they fall.
13It eats away parts of their skin.
Death itself feeds on their arms and legs.
14They are torn away from the safety of their tents.
They are marched off to the one who rules over death.
15Fire races through their tents.
Burning sulfur is scattered over their homes.
16Their roots dry up under them.
Their branches dry up above them.
17No one on earth remembers them.
Their names are forgotten in the land.
18They are driven from light into the place of darkness.
They are thrown out of the world.
19Their family dies out among their people.
No one is left where they used to live.
20What has happened to them shocks the people in the west.
It terrifies the people in the east.
21Now you know what the homes of sinners are like.
Those who don’t know God live in places like that.”
