The Lord comes and reigns
1A day of the Lord is coming, Jerusalem, when your possessions will be plundered and divided up within your very walls.
2I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city. 3Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle. 4On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. 5You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake14:5 Or 5 My mountain valley will be blocked and will extend to Azel. It will be blocked as it was blocked because of the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.
6On that day there will be neither sunlight nor cold, frosty darkness. 7It will be a unique day – a day known only to the Lord – with no distinction between day and night. When evening comes, there will be light.
8On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it east to the Dead Sea and half of it west to the Mediterranean Sea, in summer and in winter.
9The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.
10The whole land, from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem, will become like the Arabah. But Jerusalem will be raised up high from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses, and will remain in its place. 11It will be inhabited; never again will it be destroyed. Jerusalem will be secure.
12This is the plague with which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. 13On that day people will be stricken by the Lord with great panic. They will seize each other by the hand and attack one another. 14Judah too will fight at Jerusalem. The wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected – great quantities of gold and silver and clothing. 15A similar plague will strike the horses and mules, the camels and donkeys, and all the animals in those camps.
16Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. 17If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, they will have no rain. 18If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The Lord14:18 Or part, then the Lord will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. 19This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.
20On that day ‘Holy to the Lord’ will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, and the cooking pots in the Lord’s house will be like the sacred bowls in front of the altar. 21Every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the Lord Almighty, and all who come to sacrifice will take some of the pots and cook in them. And on that day there will no longer be a Canaanite14:21 Or merchant in the house of the Lord Almighty.
A Vinda do Reino do Senhor
1Vejam, o dia do Senhor virá, quando no meio de vocês os seus bens serão divididos.
2Reunirei todos os povos para lutarem contra Jerusalém; a cidade será conquistada, as casas saqueadas e as mulheres violentadas. Metade da população será levada para o exílio, mas o restante do povo não será tirado da cidade.
3Depois o Senhor sairá para a guerra contra aquelas nações, como ele faz em dia de batalha. 4Naquele dia, os seus pés estarão sobre o monte das Oliveiras, a leste de Jerusalém, e o monte se dividirá ao meio, de leste a oeste, por um grande vale; metade do monte será removido para o norte, e a outra metade para o sul. 5Vocês fugirão pelo meu vale entre os montes, pois ele se estenderá até Azel. 6Naquele dia, não haverá calor nem frio. 7Será um dia único, um dia que o Senhor conhece, no qual não haverá separação entre dia e noite, porque, mesmo depois de anoitecer, haverá claridade.
8Naquele dia, águas correntes fluirão de Jerusalém, metade delas para o mar do leste14.8 Isto é, o mar Morto. e metade para o mar do oeste14.8 Isto é, o Mediterrâneo.. Isso acontecerá tanto no verão como no inverno.
9O Senhor será rei de toda a terra. Naquele dia, haverá um só Senhor e o seu nome será o único nome.
10A terra toda, desde Geba até Rimom, ao sul de Jerusalém, será semelhante à Arabá. Mas Jerusalém será restabelecida e permanecerá em seu lugar, desde a porta de Benjamim até o lugar da primeira porta, até a porta da Esquina, e desde a torre de Hananeel até os tanques de prensar uvas do rei. 11Será habitada; nunca mais será destruída. Jerusalém estará segura.
12Esta é a praga com a qual o Senhor castigará todas as nações que lutarem contra Jerusalém: sua carne apodrecerá enquanto estiverem ainda em pé, seus olhos apodrecerão em suas órbitas e sua língua apodrecerá em sua boca. 13Naquele dia, grande confusão causada pelo Senhor dominará essas nações. Cada um atacará o que estiver ao seu lado. 14Também Judá lutará em Jerusalém. A riqueza de todas as nações vizinhas será recolhida, grandes quantidades de ouro, prata e roupas. 15A mesma praga cairá sobre cavalos e mulas, camelos e burros, sobre todos os animais daquelas nações.
16Então, os sobreviventes de todas as nações que atacaram Jerusalém subirão ano após ano para adorar o rei, o Senhor dos Exércitos, para celebrar a festa das cabanas14.16 Ou dos tabernáculos; hebraico: sucote; também nos versículos 18 e 19.. 17Se algum dentre os povos da terra não subir a Jerusalém para adorar o Rei, o Senhor dos Exércitos, não virá para ele a chuva. 18Se os egípcios não subirem para participar, o Senhor mandará sobre eles a praga com a qual afligirá as nações que se recusarem a subir para celebrar a festa das cabanas. 19Sim, essa será a punição do Egito e de todas as nações que não subirem para celebrar a festa das cabanas.
20Naquele dia, estará inscrito nas sinetas penduradas nos cavalos: “Separado para o Senhor”. Os caldeirões do templo do Senhor serão tão sagrados quanto as bacias diante do altar. 21Cada panela de Jerusalém e de Judá será separada para o Senhor dos Exércitos, e todos os que vierem sacrificar pegarão panelas e cozinharão nelas. E, a partir daquele dia, nunca mais haverá comerciantes14.21 Hebraico: cananeus. no templo do Senhor dos Exércitos.
