Jesus forgives and heals a paralysed man
1Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. 2Some men brought to him a paralysed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, ‘Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.’
3At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, ‘This fellow is blaspheming!’
4Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, ‘Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? 5Which is easier: to say, “Your sins are forgiven,” or to say, “Get up and walk”? 6But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.’ So he said to the paralysed man, ‘Get up, take your mat and go home.’ 7Then the man got up and went home. 8When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.
The calling of Matthew
9As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. ‘Follow me,’ he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
10While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?’
12On hearing this, Jesus said, ‘It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but those who are ill. 13But go and learn what this means: “I desire mercy, not sacrifice.”9:13 Hosea 6:6 For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.’
Jesus questioned about fasting
14Then John’s disciples came and asked him, ‘How is it that we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?’
15Jesus answered, ‘How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.
16‘No-one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. 17Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out, and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.’
Jesus raises a dead girl and heals a sick woman
18While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, ‘My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.’ 19Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples.
20Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. 21She said to herself, ‘If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.’
22Jesus turned and saw her. ‘Take heart, daughter,’ he said, ‘your faith has healed you.’ And the woman was healed at that moment.
23When Jesus entered the synagogue leader’s house and saw the noisy crowd and the people playing pipes, 24he said, ‘Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep.’ But they laughed at him. 25After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up. 26News of this spread through all that region.
Jesus heals the blind and the mute
27As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, ‘Have mercy on us, Son of David!’
28When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’
‘Yes, Lord,’ they replied.
29Then he touched their eyes and said, ‘According to your faith let it be done to you’; 30and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, ‘See that no-one knows about this.’ 31But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region.
32While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus. 33And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, ‘Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.’
34But the Pharisees said, ‘It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons.’
The workers are few
35Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and illness. 36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’
医治瘫子
1耶稣坐船回到湖对岸自己住的城镇。
2有人用担架把一个瘫子抬到耶稣面前。耶稣看见他们的信心，就对瘫子说：“孩子，放心吧！你的罪得到赦免了。”
3几个律法教师听了，心里想：“这个人是在亵渎上帝。”
4耶稣知道他们的心思，就说：“你们为什么心怀恶念呢？ 5说‘你的罪得到赦免了’容易呢？还是说‘你起来行走’容易呢？ 6如今我要让你们知道人子在世上有赦罪的权柄。”于是祂对瘫子说：“起来！收拾你的担架回家去吧。”
7那人立刻站起来，回家去了。 8看见的人都充满了敬畏，就赞美把这样的权柄赐给人的上帝。
呼召马太
9耶稣离开那里往前走，看见一个名叫马太的人坐在收税站里，便对他说：“跟从我！”马太就站起来跟从了耶稣。
10耶稣在马太家里坐席的时候，很多税吏和罪人前来跟耶稣和祂的门徒一起坐席。 11法利赛人看见了，就质问耶稣的门徒：“你们的老师为何跟税吏和罪人一起吃饭？” 12耶稣听见后，答道：“健康的人不需要医生，有病的人才需要。 13圣经上说，‘我喜爱怜悯之心，而非祭物’，你们去揣摩这句话的意思吧。我来不是要召义人，乃是要召罪人。”
禁食的问题
14那时，约翰的门徒来问耶稣：“我们和法利赛人常常禁食，为什么你的门徒不禁食呢？”
15耶稣对他们说：“新郎和宾客还在一起的时候，宾客怎能悲伤呢？但有一天新郎将被带走，那时他们就要禁食了。
16“没有人用新布缝补旧衣，恐怕新布会把旧衣扯破，破洞会更大。 17也没有人用旧皮囊来盛新酒，否则皮囊会胀破，酒也漏了，皮囊也毁了。人们总是把新酒装在新皮囊里，以便两样都能保住。”
起死回生
18当耶稣在说话的时候，来了一个管理会堂的人跪在祂面前，说：“我的女儿刚刚死了，请你去把手按在她身上，她就会活过来。” 19耶稣和门徒就起身跟着他去了。 20途中，有一个患了十二年血漏病的女人挤到耶稣的背后，摸了一下祂衣服的穗边， 21因为她心想：“我只要摸到祂的衣服，病就会好。” 22耶稣转过头来，看见她，就说：“女儿，放心吧，你的信心救了你。”就在那一刻，她的顽疾痊愈了。
23耶稣来到管理会堂之人的家，看见殡葬的吹乐手和乱嚷嚷的人群， 24就吩咐他们：“你们出去吧，这女孩并没有死，只是睡着了。”他们都讥笑祂。
25耶稣让众人都出去，然后进去拉着女孩的手，女孩就起来了。 26这件事传遍了整个地区。
医治瞎子和哑巴
27耶稣从那里往前走，有两个瞎子跟着祂，高声呼叫：“大卫的后裔啊，可怜我们吧！”
28耶稣进了房子，那两个瞎子来到祂面前。耶稣问他们：“你们相信我能做这事吗？”他们说：“主啊，我们相信。”
29于是，耶稣摸他们的眼睛，并说：“照你们的信心成全你们吧。” 30他们立刻得见光明。耶稣郑重地叮嘱他们：“不要张扬这件事。” 31但他们出去后把祂所行的事传遍了那一带。
32他们正要离去，有人带着一个被鬼附身的哑巴来见耶稣。 33耶稣把鬼赶出去后，哑巴就能说话了。
众人都感到惊奇，说：“在以色列从未见过这样的事。”
34法利赛人却说：“祂只不过是靠鬼王赶鬼。”
耶稣怜悯众人
35耶稣走遍了各城各乡，在会堂里教导人，传讲天国的福音，医治各样的疾病。 36祂看见众人，心里怜悯他们，因为他们困苦无助，好像没有牧人的羊。 37耶稣对门徒说：“要收割的庄稼很多，工人却很少。 38因此，你们要祈求庄稼的主人派更多的工人去收割。”
