Land allotted to Ephraim and Manasseh
1The land allotted to Joseph began at the Jordan, east of the springs of Jericho, and went up from there through the desert into the hill country of Bethel. 2It went on from Bethel (that is, Luz),16:2 Septuagint; Hebrew Bethel to Luz crossed over to the territory of the Arkites in Ataroth, 3descended westward to the territory of the Japhletites as far as the region of Lower Beth Horon and on to Gezer, ending at the Mediterranean Sea.
4So Manasseh and Ephraim, the descendants of Joseph, received their inheritance.
5This was the territory of Ephraim, according to its clans:
The boundary of their inheritance went from Ataroth Addar in the east to Upper Beth Horon 6and continued to the Mediterranean Sea. From Mikmethath on the north it curved eastward to Taanath Shiloh, passing by it to Janoah on the east. 7Then it went down from Janoah to Ataroth and Naarah, touched Jericho and came out at the Jordan. 8From Tappuah the border went west to the Kanah Ravine and ended at the Mediterranean Sea. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Ephraimites, according to its clans.
9It also included all the towns and their villages that were set aside for the Ephraimites within the inheritance of the Manassites.
10They did not dislodge the Canaanites living in Gezer; to this day the Canaanites live among the people of Ephraim but are required to do forced labour.

1요셉 자손이 제비 뽑아 얻은 땅의 경계선은 여리고 맞은편의 요단강에서

3서쪽으로 야블렛 사람의 경계로 내려가 아래 벧 – 호론까지 미치고 거기서 게셀에 이르러 지중해에서 그 경계선이 끝났다.
4이상은 요셉 자손, 곧 에브라임 지파와 므낫세 서쪽 반 지파가 분배받은 땅의 경계선이다.
에브라임 지파
5에브라임 지파가 그 집안별로 얻은 땅의 경계선은 동쪽 아다롯 – 앗달에서 시작하여 윗 벧 – 호론에 이르고
6거기서 서쪽으로 나아가 지중해에 이르렀다. 다시 그 경계선은 북쪽 믹므닷에서 시작하여 동쪽으로 돌아 다아낫 – 실로와 야노아를 지난 다음
7아다롯과 나아라로 내려가서 여리고에 이르러 요단강에서 끝났다.
8다시 그 경계선은 북쪽 답부아에서 시작하여 서쪽으로 나아가 가나 시내를 따라 지중해까지 가서 끝났다. 이상은 에브라임 지파가 집안별로 분배받은 땅의 경계선이다.
9이 밖에 에브라임 지파는 므낫세 서쪽 반 지파의 땅 중에서도 일부 성과 부락을 얻었다.
10그러나 그들은 게셀에 사는 가나안 사람을 쫓아내지 않았으므로 그들이 오늘날까지 에브라임 지파 가운데 살면서 종살이하고 있다.
