Job
1Then Job replied:
2‘How you have helped the powerless!
How you have saved the arm that is feeble!
3What advice you have offered to one without wisdom!
And what great insight you have displayed!
4Who has helped you utter these words?
And whose spirit spoke from your mouth?
5‘The dead are in deep anguish,
those beneath the waters and all that live in them.
6The realm of the dead is naked before God;
Destruction26:6 Hebrew Abaddon lies uncovered.
7He spreads out the northern skies over empty space;
he suspends the earth over nothing.
8He wraps up the waters in his clouds,
yet the clouds do not burst under their weight.
9He covers the face of the full moon,
spreading his clouds over it.
10He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters
for a boundary between light and darkness.
11The pillars of the heavens quake,
aghast at his rebuke.
12By his power he churned up the sea;
by his wisdom he cut Rahab to pieces.
13By his breath the skies became fair;
his hand pierced the gliding serpent.
14And these are but the outer fringe of his works;
how faint the whisper we hear of him!
Who then can understand the thunder of his power?’

1그래서 욥이 이렇게 대답하였다.
2“너는 힘없는 자를 잘 도왔고 기 력 없는 팔을 잘 구하였으며
3지혜 없는 자에게 좋은 충고를 하여 너의 훌륭한 지식을 잘 나타내었구나!
4누가 너에게 그런 말을 하게 하였느냐? 누구의 신이 네 입에서 나왔느냐?
5“죽은 자들의 영들이 지하의 물 속에서 떨며
6하나님 앞에는 26:6 또는 ‘음부도’, 히 ‘스올’죽은 자의 세계가 드러나고 아무것도 가리어진 것이 없다.
7하나님은 북쪽 하늘을 허공에 펴시며 지구를 공간에 매달아 놓으시고
8물을 짙은 구름으로 싸시며 그 무게로 구름이 찢어지지 않도록 하셨다.
9그는 자기 보좌를 구름으로 가리시고
10수면에 경계를 그어 빛과 어두움의 한계를 정하셨다.
11그가 한번 꾸짖으면 하늘의 기둥이 무서워 떤다.
12그는 권능으로 바다를 잠잠하게 하시고 그 지혜로 26:12 또는 ‘라합을 쳐서 파하시며’바다의 교만을 꺾어 버리시며
13그의 입김으로 하늘을 맑게 하시고 그의 손으로 날쌔게 기어가는 뱀을 찌르신다.
14그러나 이런 것은 그의 능력 중에서 아주 작은 부분에 불과하며 우리가 그에 대하여 들은 것도 세미한 속삭임에 지나지 않는다. 그렇다면 누가 감히 하나님의 크신 능력을 이해할 수 있겠느냐?”
