The altar of burnt offering
1‘Build an altar of acacia wood, three cubits27:1 That is, about 1.4 metres high; it is to be square, five cubits long and five cubits wide.27:1 That is, about 2.3 metres long and wide 2Make a horn at each of the four corners, so that the horns and the altar are of one piece, and overlay the altar with bronze. 3Make all its utensils of bronze – its pots to remove the ashes, and its shovels, sprinkling bowls, meat forks and firepans. 4Make a grating for it, a bronze network, and make a bronze ring at each of the four corners of the network. 5Put it under the ledge of the altar so that it is halfway up the altar. 6Make poles of acacia wood for the altar and overlay them with bronze. 7The poles are to be inserted into the rings so they will be on two sides of the altar when it is carried. 8Make the altar hollow, out of boards. It is to be made just as you were shown on the mountain.
The courtyard
9‘Make a courtyard for the tabernacle. The south side shall be a hundred cubits27:9 That is, about 45 metres; also in verse 11 long and is to have curtains of finely twisted linen, 10with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases and with silver hooks and bands on the posts. 11The north side shall also be a hundred cubits long and is to have curtains, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases and with silver hooks and bands on the posts.
12‘The west end of the courtyard shall be fifty cubits27:12 That is, about 23 metres; also in verse 13 wide and have curtains, with ten posts and ten bases. 13On the east end, towards the sunrise, the courtyard shall also be fifty cubits wide. 14Curtains fifteen cubits27:14 That is, about 6.8 metres; also in verse 15 long are to be on one side of the entrance, with three posts and three bases, 15and curtains fifteen cubits long are to be on the other side, with three posts and three bases.
16‘For the entrance to the courtyard, provide a curtain twenty cubits27:16 That is, about 9 metres long, of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen – the work of an embroiderer – with four posts and four bases. 17All the posts around the courtyard are to have silver bands and hooks, and bronze bases. 18The courtyard shall be a hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide,27:18 That is, about 45 metres long and 23 metres wide with curtains of finely twisted linen five cubits27:18 That is, about 2.3 metres high, and with bronze bases. 19All the other articles used in the service of the tabernacle, whatever their function, including all the tent pegs for it and those for the courtyard, are to be of bronze.
Oil for the lampstand
20‘Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning. 21In the tent of meeting, outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before the Lord from evening till morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for the generations to come.
O altar para o holocausto
(Êx 38.1-7)
1Com madeira de acácia farás também um altar de 2,5 metros de lado e 1,5 metros de altura. 2Porás chifres nos quatro cantos do altar, os quais ficarão muito bem fixados, de forma a fazerem um só corpo com o altar. Revestirás tudo de bronze. 3E todos os seus utensílios serão igualmente em bronze: os recipientes para recolher as cinzas, as pás, as bacias, os garfos e os ganchos. 4O altar terá também uma grelha com argolas nos cantos. 5Ficará pendurado a meia altura da caixa interior do altar. 6Para poder deslocar este altar farás varas de madeira de acácia, revestidas de bronze, 7que passem por argolas de cada lado do altar, para ser transportado. 8Este deverá ser oco, e feito de pranchas, como te foi mostrado no monte.
O pátio
(Êx 38.9-20)
9Seguidamente, farás um pátio para o tabernáculo, cercado por véus de linho fino retorcido. A sul, os véus medirão 50 metros 10e ficarão suspensos por vinte postes, os quais estarão assentes em vinte bases de bronze. Os véus estarão pendurados em ganchos de prata os quais estarão presos a pequenas hastes de prata ligadas aos postes. 11Será o mesmo quanto ao lado norte do pátio: 50 metros de véus, seguros por vinte postes assentes em bases de bronze, com ganchos e hastes de prata. 12O lado ocidental terá 25 metros de largo com dez postes e dez bases. 13O lado oriental terá igualmente 25 metros, mas da seguinte maneira: 14-157,5 metros de véus de cada lado da entrada, suspensos por três postes, embutidos em três bases.
16A entrada do pátio terá um véu de 10 metros de largo, com artísticos bordados com linho fino retorcido, a azul, púrpura e vermelho, sustentado por quatro colunas com quatro bases. 17Todos os postes à volta do pátio deverão estar ligados entre si com varas de prata. Os ganchos serão de prata, e todos os postes embutidos em sólidas bases de bronze. 18Assim, o pátio terá 50 metros de comprimento, por 25 de largura, com paredes de véus de 2,5 metros de altura, feitos com linho fino retorcido, e as suas bases, de bronze.
19Todos os utensílios utilizados no serviço do tabernáculo, incluindo os pregos e as cavilhas para pendurar na parede os diferentes objetos, serão feitos de bronze.
Óleo para as lâmpadas
(Lv 24.1-4)
20Dá instruções ao povo para que te traga azeite puro para ser usado nas lâmpadas do tabernáculo, para que estejam ardendo continuamente. 21Aarão e os seus filhos colocarão esta chama eterna no lado de fora do véu que está junto à arca do testemunho, na tenda do encontro, e ocupar-se-ão dela de forma a que brilhe toda a noite diante do Senhor, sem nunca se apagar. Isto é uma lei que nunca será alterada em todas as gerações dos filhos de Israel.
