1 Chronicles 3:1-24

The sons of David

1These were the sons of David born to him in Hebron:

the firstborn was Amnon the son of Ahinoam of Jezreel;

the second, Daniel the son of Abigail of Carmel;

2the third, Absalom the son of Maakah daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;

the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;

3the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;

and the sixth, Ithream, by his wife Eglah.

4These six were born to David in Hebron, where he reigned seven years and six months.

David reigned in Jerusalem for thirty-three years, 5and these were the children born to him there:

Shammua,3:5 Hebrew Shimea, a variant of Shammua Shobab, Nathan and Solomon. These four were by Bathsheba3:5 One Hebrew manuscript and Vulgate (see also Septuagint and 2 Samuel 11:3); most Hebrew manuscripts Bathshua daughter of Ammiel.

6There were also Ibhar, Elishua,3:6 Two Hebrew manuscripts (see also 2 Samuel 5:15 and 1 Chron. 14:5); most Hebrew manuscripts Elishama Eliphelet, 7Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, 8Elishama, Eliada and Eliphelet – nine in all.

9All these were the sons of David, besides his sons by his concubines. And Tamar was their sister.

The kings of Judah

10Solomon’s son was Rehoboam,

Abijah his son,

Asa his son,

Jehoshaphat his son,

11Jehoram3:11 Hebrew Joram, a variant of Jehoram his son,

Ahaziah his son,

Joash his son,

12Amaziah his son,

Azariah his son,

Jotham his son,

13Ahaz his son,

Hezekiah his son,

Manasseh his son,

14Amon his son,

Josiah his son.

15The sons of Josiah:

Johanan the firstborn,

Jehoiakim the second son,

Zedekiah the third,

Shallum the fourth.

16The successors of Jehoiakim:

Jehoiachin3:16 Hebrew Jeconiah, a variant of Jehoiachin; also in verse 17 his son,

and Zedekiah.

The royal line after the exile

17The descendants of Jehoiachin the captive:

Shealtiel his son, 18Malkiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama and Nedabiah.

19The sons of Pedaiah:

Zerubbabel and Shimei.

The sons of Zerubbabel:

Meshullam and Hananiah. Shelomith was their sister. 20There were also five others: Hashubah, Ohel, Berekiah, Hasadiah and Jushab-Hesed.

21The descendants of Hananiah:

Pelatiah and Jeshaiah, and the sons of Rephaiah, of Arnan, of Obadiah and of Shekaniah.

22The descendants of Shekaniah:

Shemaiah and his sons: Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah and Shaphat – six in all.

23The sons of Neariah:

Elioenai, Hizkiah and Azrikam – three in all.

24The sons of Elioenai:

Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah and Anani – seven in all.

Die Nachkommen von König David

1In Hebron wurden König David folgende Söhne geboren:

Der älteste hieß Amnon, seine Mutter war Ahinoam aus Jesreel. Danach kam Daniel, seine Mutter war Abigajil aus Karmel. 2Absalom war der dritte Sohn, seine Mutter hieß Maacha und war eine Tochter von Talmai, dem König von Geschur. Der vierte Sohn hieß Adonija, und seine Mutter war Haggit. 3Der fünfte war Schefatja, seine Mutter hieß Abital. Jitream, der sechste, war der Sohn von Davids Frau Egla. 4Diese sechs Söhne wurden in Hebron geboren. David regierte dort siebeneinhalb Jahre.

Danach regierte er in Jerusalem noch weitere 33 Jahre. 5Dort brachte seine Frau Batseba, die Tochter von Eliam3,5 So nach 2. Samuel 11,3. Im hebräischen Text steht der Name Ammiël., vier Söhne zur Welt: Schammua, Schobab, Nathan und Salomo. 6Dann wurden noch neun Söhne geboren: Jibhar, Elischua, Elpelet,3,6 So nach der griechischen Übersetzung und einigen hebräischen Handschriften. Der hebräische Text lautet: Elischama, Elifelet. Vgl. 2. Samuel 5,16 und 1. Chronik 14,5. 7Nogah, Nefeg, Jafia, 8Elischama, Eljada und Elifelet. 9David hatte eine Tochter namens Tamar. Die Söhne von Davids Nebenfrauen sind hier nicht aufgezählt.

10Auf Salomo folgten in direkter Linie: Rehabeam, Abija, Asa, Joschafat, 11Joram, Ahasja, Joasch, 12Amazja, Asarja, Jotam, 13Ahas, Hiskia, Manasse, 14Amon und Josia.

15Josias vier Söhne waren: Johanan, der älteste, Jojakim, Zedekia und Schallum.

16Jojakim hatte einen Sohn namens Jojachin3,16 Wörtlich: Jechonja. – Dies ist ein anderer Name für Jojachin. Vgl. 2. Könige 24,6.12. und Jojachin wiederum einen Sohn namens Zedekia. 17Die Söhne von Jojachin, der nach Babylonien verschleppt wurde, hießen: Schealtiël,3,17 Oder: Die Söhne Jojachins hießen: Assir, Schealtiël, … 18Malkiram, Pedaja, Schenazzar, Jekamja, Hoschama und Nedabja.

19Pedajas Söhne hießen Serubbabel und Schimi. Serubbabels Söhne waren Meschullam und Hananja; dazu kamen eine Tochter namens Schelomit 20sowie weitere fünf Söhne: Haschuba, Ohel, Berechja, Hasadja und Juschab-Hesed.

21Hananjas Söhne waren Pelatja und Jesaja. Auf Jesaja folgten in direkter Linie Refaja, Arnan, Obadja und Schechanja.3,21 Oder: Hananjas Söhne waren Pelatja und Jesaja, außerdem Refaja, …

22Schechanjas Sohn hieß Schemaja. Schemaja hatte sechs Söhne: Hattusch, Jigal, Bariach, Nearja und Schafat.

23Nearja hatte drei Söhne: Eljoënai, Hiskia und Asrikam.

24Eljoënai hatte sieben Söhne: Hodawja, Eljaschib, Pelaja, Akkub, Johanan, Delaja und Anani.
