1 Chronicles 3:1-24

The sons of David

1These were the sons of David born to him in Hebron:

the firstborn was Amnon the son of Ahinoam of Jezreel;

the second, Daniel the son of Abigail of Carmel;

2the third, Absalom the son of Maakah daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;

the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;

3the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;

and the sixth, Ithream, by his wife Eglah.

4These six were born to David in Hebron, where he reigned seven years and six months.

David reigned in Jerusalem for thirty-three years, 5and these were the children born to him there:

Shammua,3:5 Hebrew Shimea, a variant of Shammua Shobab, Nathan and Solomon. These four were by Bathsheba3:5 One Hebrew manuscript and Vulgate (see also Septuagint and 2 Samuel 11:3); most Hebrew manuscripts Bathshua daughter of Ammiel.

6There were also Ibhar, Elishua,3:6 Two Hebrew manuscripts (see also 2 Samuel 5:15 and 1 Chron. 14:5); most Hebrew manuscripts Elishama Eliphelet, 7Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, 8Elishama, Eliada and Eliphelet – nine in all.

9All these were the sons of David, besides his sons by his concubines. And Tamar was their sister.

The kings of Judah

10Solomon’s son was Rehoboam,

Abijah his son,

Asa his son,

Jehoshaphat his son,

11Jehoram3:11 Hebrew Joram, a variant of Jehoram his son,

Ahaziah his son,

Joash his son,

12Amaziah his son,

Azariah his son,

Jotham his son,

13Ahaz his son,

Hezekiah his son,

Manasseh his son,

14Amon his son,

Josiah his son.

15The sons of Josiah:

Johanan the firstborn,

Jehoiakim the second son,

Zedekiah the third,

Shallum the fourth.

16The successors of Jehoiakim:

Jehoiachin3:16 Hebrew Jeconiah, a variant of Jehoiachin; also in verse 17 his son,

and Zedekiah.

The royal line after the exile

17The descendants of Jehoiachin the captive:

Shealtiel his son, 18Malkiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama and Nedabiah.

19The sons of Pedaiah:

Zerubbabel and Shimei.

The sons of Zerubbabel:

Meshullam and Hananiah. Shelomith was their sister. 20There were also five others: Hashubah, Ohel, Berekiah, Hasadiah and Jushab-Hesed.

21The descendants of Hananiah:

Pelatiah and Jeshaiah, and the sons of Rephaiah, of Arnan, of Obadiah and of Shekaniah.

22The descendants of Shekaniah:

Shemaiah and his sons: Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah and Shaphat – six in all.

23The sons of Neariah:

Elioenai, Hizkiah and Azrikam – three in all.

24The sons of Elioenai:

Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah and Anani – seven in all.

Les descendants de David

1Voici la liste des fils de David qui lui naquirent à Hébron. Le premier-né s’appelait Amnôn, il était fils d’Ahinoam de Jizréel ; le deuxième, Daniel, était fils d’Abigaïl de Karmel ; 2le troisième, Absalom, était le fils de Maaka, fille de Talmaï, le roi de Gueshour ; le quatrième, Adoniya, était le fils de Haggith ; 3le cinquième, Shephatia, d’Abital ; le sixième, Yitream, de sa femme Egla. 4Ces six fils lui naquirent à Hébron, où il régna sept ans et six mois. Il régna ensuite trente-trois ans à Jérusalem3.4 Voir 2 S 5.4-5 ; 1 R 2.11 ; 1 Ch 29.27..

5Voici les enfants qui lui naquirent à Jérusalem : Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, Salomon, tous les quatre de Bath-Shoua3.5 Ou Bath-Shéba, la mère de Salomon (2 S 11.3)., fille d’Ammiel. 6Il eut encore : Yibhar, Elishama3.6 Deux manuscrits hébreux ont : Elisha. 2 S 5.15 et 1 Ch 14.5 ont : Elishoua., Eliphéleth, 7Noga, Népheg, Yaphia, 8Elishama, Elyada et Eliphéleth, soit neuf autres fils de David.

9Ses épouses de second rang lui donnèrent aussi des fils. Tamar était leur sœur. 10Les descendants de Salomon3.10 Voir v. 10-16 : liste des rois de Juda dont il est question en 1 R 12 à 2 R 25., en ligne directe de père en fils, furent : Roboam, Abiya, Asa, Josaphat, 11Yoram, Ahazia, Joas, 12Amatsia, Azaria, Yotam, 13Ahaz, Ezéchias, Manassé, 14Amôn, Josias. 15Fils de Josias : le premier-né, Yohanân ; le second, Yehoyaqim ; le troisième, Sédécias ; le quatrième, Shalloum. 16Fils de Yehoyaqim : Yekonia et Sédécias.

17Descendants de Yekonia, qui fut emmené en captivité : Shealtiel, son fils, 18et Malkiram, Pedaya, Shénatsar, Yeqamia, Hoshama et Nedabia. 19Fils de Pedaya : Zorobabel et Shimeï. Zorobabel eut deux fils : Meshoullam et Hanania ; Shelomith était leur sœur. 20Puis Hashouba, Ohel, Bérékia, Hasadia, Youshab-Hésed, soit cinq. 21Descendants de Hanania : Pelatia et Esaïe ; les fils de Rephaya, ceux d’Arnân, d’Abdias et de Shekania. 22Shekania eut six fils : Shemaya3.22 Le texte hébreu traditionnel a : Shemaya et ses fils., Hattoush, Yiguéal, Bariah, Nearia et Shaphath. 23Nearia eut trois fils : Elyoénaï, Ezéchias et Azriqam. 24Elyoénaï eut sept fils : Hodavia, Eliashib, Pelaya, Aqqoub, Yohanân, Delaya et Anani.
