1 Chronicles 2:1-55

Israel’s sons

1These were the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, 2Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad and Asher.

Judah

To Hezron’s sons

3The sons of Judah:

Er, Onan and Shelah. These three were born to him by a Canaanite woman, the daughter of Shua.

(Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death.)

4Judah’s daughter-in-law Tamar bore Perez and Zerah to Judah.

He had five sons in all.

5The sons of Perez:

Hezron and Hamul.

6The sons of Zerah:

Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Kalkol and Darda2:6 Many Hebrew manuscripts, some Septuagint manuscripts and Syriac (see also 1 Kings 4:31); most Hebrew manuscripts Dara – five in all.

7The son of Karmi:

Achar,2:7 Achar means trouble; Achar is called Achan in Joshua. who brought trouble on Israel by violating the ban on taking devoted things.2:7 The Hebrew term refers to the irrevocable giving over of things or persons to the Lord, often by totally destroying them.

8The son of Ethan:

Azariah.

9The sons born to Hezron were:

Jerahmeel, Ram and Caleb.2:9 Hebrew Kelubai, a variant of Caleb

From Ram son of Hezron

10Ram was the father of Amminadab,

and Amminadab the father of Nahshon, the leader of the people of Judah.

11Nahshon was the father of Salmon,2:11 Septuagint (see also Ruth 4:21); Hebrew Salma

Salmon the father of Boaz,

12Boaz the father of Obed

and Obed the father of Jesse.

13Jesse was the father of

Eliab his firstborn; the second son was Abinadab,

the third Shimea, 14the fourth Nethanel,

the fifth Raddai, 15the sixth Ozem

and the seventh David.

16Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail.

Zeruiah’s three sons were Abishai, Joab and Asahel.

17Abigail was the mother of Amasa, whose father was Jether the Ishmaelite.

Caleb son of Hezron

18Caleb son of Hezron had children by his wife Azubah (and by Jerioth). These were her sons:

Jesher, Shobab and Ardon.

19When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur.

20Hur was the father of Uri, and Uri the father of Bezalel.

21Later, Hezron, when he was sixty years old, married the daughter of Makir the father of Gilead. He made love to her, and she bore him Segub.

22Segub was the father of Jair, who controlled twenty-three towns in Gilead.

23(But Geshur and Aram captured Havvoth Jair,2:23 Or captured the settlements of Jair as well as Kenath with its surrounding settlements – sixty towns.)

All these were descendants of Makir the father of Gilead.

24After Hezron died in Caleb Ephrathah, Abijah the wife of Hezron bore him Ashhur the father2:24 Father may mean civic leader or military leader; also in verses 42, 45, 49-52 and possibly elsewhere. of Tekoa.

Jerahmeel son of Hezron

25The sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron:

Ram his firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem and2:25 Or Oren and Ozem, by Ahijah. 26Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.

27The sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel:

Maaz, Jamin and Eker.

28The sons of Onam:

Shammai and Jada.

The sons of Shammai:

30The sons of Nadab:

Seled and Appaim. Seled died without children.

31The son of Appaim:

Ishi, who was the father of Sheshan. Sheshan was the father of Ahlai.

32The sons of Jada, Shammai’s brother:

Jether and Jonathan. Jether died without children.

33The sons of Jonathan:

Peleth and Zaza.

These were the descendants of Jerahmeel.

34Sheshan had no sons – only daughters.

He had an Egyptian servant named Jarha. 35Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, and she bore him Attai.

36Attai was the father of Nathan,

Nathan the father of Zabad,

37Zabad the father of Ephlal,

Ephlal the father of Obed,

38Obed the father of Jehu,

Jehu the father of Azariah,

39Azariah the father of Helez,

Helez the father of Eleasah,

40Eleasah the father of Sismai,

Sismai the father of Shallum,

41Shallum the father of Jekamiah,

and Jekamiah the father of Elishama.

The clans of Caleb

42The sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel:

Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph,

and his son Mareshah,2:42 The meaning of the Hebrew for this phrase is uncertain. who was the father of Hebron.

43The sons of Hebron:

Korah, Tappuah, Rekem and Shema.

44Shema was the father of Raham,

and Raham the father of Jorkeam.

Rekem was the father of Shammai.

45The son of Shammai was Maon,

and Maon was the father of Beth Zur.

46Caleb’s concubine Ephah was the mother of

Haran, Moza and Gazez.

Haran was the father of Gazez.

47The sons of Jahdai:

Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah and Shaaph.

48Caleb’s concubine Maakah was the mother of

Sheber and Tirhanah.

49She also gave birth to Shaaph the father of Madmannah

and to Sheva the father of Makbenah and Gibea.

Caleb’s daughter was Aksah.

50These were the descendants of Caleb.

The sons of Hur the firstborn of Ephrathah:

Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim, 51Salma the father of Bethlehem, and Hareph the father of Beth Gader.

52The descendants of Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim were:

Haroeh, half the Manahathites, 53and the clans of Kiriath Jearim: the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites and Mishraites. From these descended the Zorathites and Eshtaolites.

54The descendants of Salma:

Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth Beth Joab, half the Manahathites, the Zorites, 55and the clans of scribes2:55 Or of the Sopherites who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, Shimeathites and Sucathites. These are the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the Rekabites.2:55 Or father of Beth Rekab

Os Filhos de Israel

1Estes foram os filhos de Israel: Rúben, Simeão, Levi, Judá, Issacar, Zebulom, 2Dã, José, Benjamim, Naftali, Gade e Aser.

Os Descendentes de Judá

3Estes foram os filhos de Judá:

Er, Onã e Selá. Ele teve esses três filhos com uma mulher cananeia, a filha de Suá.

(Mas o Senhor reprovou a conduta perversa de Er, filho mais velho de Judá, e por isso o matou.)

4Tamar, nora de Judá, deu-lhe os filhos Perez e Zerá.

A Judá nasceram ao todo cinco filhos.

5Estes foram os filhos de Perez:

Hezrom e Hamul.

6Estes foram os filhos de Zerá:

Zinri, Etã, Hemã, Calcol e Darda2.6 Muitos manuscritos dizem Dara. Veja 1Rs 4.31.. Foram cinco ao todo.

7O filho de Carmi foi

Acar2.7 Acar, também conhecido por Acã, significa desgraça. Veja Js 7.1.. Ele causou desgraça a Israel ao violar a proibição de se apossar das coisas consagradas.

8Este foi o filho de Etã:

Azarias.

9Os filhos que nasceram a Hezrom foram

Jerameel, Rão e Calebe2.9 Hebraico: Quelubai, variante de Calebe..

10Rão gerou Aminadabe,

e Aminadabe gerou Naassom, o líder da tribo de Judá.

11Naassom gerou Salmom2.11 Conforme a Septuaginta. O Texto Massorético diz Salma. Veja Rt 4.21.,

Salmom gerou Boaz,

12Boaz gerou Obede,

e Obede gerou Jessé.

13Jessé gerou

Eliabe, o seu filho mais velho; o segundo foi Abinadabe;

o terceiro, Simeia; 14o quarto, Natanael;

o quinto, Radai; 15o sexto, Ozém;

e o sétimo, Davi.

16As irmãs deles foram Zeruia e Abigail.

Os três filhos de Zeruia foram Abisai, Joabe e Asael.

17Abigail deu à luz Amasa, filho do ismaelita Jéter.

18Calebe, filho de Hezrom, teve, com sua mulher Azuba, uma filha chamada Jeriote. Estes foram os filhos de Azuba:

Jeser, Sobabe e Ardom.

19Quando Azuba morreu, Calebe tomou por mulher Efrate, com quem teve Hur.

20Hur gerou Uri, e Uri gerou Bezalel.

21Depois disso, Hezrom, aos sessenta anos, tomou por mulher a filha de Maquir, pai2.21 Pai pode significar líder civil ou líder militar; também no restante do capítulo. Veja 2.24; 4.4; 4.5 e 8.29. de Gileade, e ela deu-lhe um filho chamado Segube.

22Segube gerou Jair, que governou vinte e três cidades em Gileade.

23Gesur e Arã conquistaram Havote-Jair2.23 Ou os povoados de Jair, bem como Quenate e os povoados ao redor; ao todo sessenta cidades.

Todos esses foram descendentes de Maquir, pai de Gileade.

24Depois que Hezrom morreu em Calebe-Efrata, Abia, mulher de Hezrom, deu-lhe Asur, fundador2.24 Hebraico: pai; também nos versículos 50-52. Veja 2.21; 4.4; 4.5 e 8.29. de Tecoa.

25Estes foram os filhos de Jerameel, o filho mais velho de Hezrom:

Rão, o mais velho, Buna, Orém, Ozém e Aías2.25 Ou por meio de Aías. 26Jerameel teve outra mulher, chamada Atara, que foi a mãe de Onã.

27Estes foram os filhos de Rão, o filho mais velho de Jerameel:

Maaz, Jamim e Equer.

28Estes foram os filhos de Onã:

Samai e Jada.

Estes foram os filhos de Samai:

Nadabe e Abisur. 29O nome da mulher de Abisur era Abiail. Ela deu-lhe dois filhos: Abã e Molide.

30Estes foram os filhos de Nadabe:

Selede e Apaim. Selede morreu sem filhos.

31O filho de Apaim foi Isi,

pai de Sesã, pai de Alai.

32Estes foram os filhos de Jada, irmão de Samai:

Jéter e Jônatas. Jéter morreu sem filhos.

33Estes foram os filhos de Jônatas:

Pelete e Zaza.

Foram esses os descendentes de Jerameel.

34Sesã não teve filhos, apenas filhas.

Tinha ele um escravo egípcio chamado Jará, 35a quem deu uma de suas filhas por mulher. E ela deu-lhe um filho chamado Atai.

36Atai gerou Natã,

Natã gerou Zabade,

37Zabade gerou Eflal,

Eflal gerou Obede,

38Obede gerou Jeú,

Jeú gerou Azarias,

39Azarias gerou Helez,

Helez gerou Eleasa,

40Eleasa gerou Sismai,

Sismai gerou Salum,

41Salum gerou Jecamias,

e Jecamias gerou Elisama.

42Estes foram os filhos de Calebe, irmão de Jerameel:

Messa, o mais velho, que foi o pai de Zife,

e seu filho Maressa, pai de Hebrom.

43Estes foram os filhos de Hebrom:

Corá, Tapua, Requém e Sema.

44Sema gerou Raão,

pai de Jorqueão.

Requém gerou Samai.

45O filho de Samai foi Maom,

e Maom foi o pai de Bete-Zur.

46A concubina de Calebe, Efá, teve três filhos:

Harã, Mosa e Gazez.

Harã gerou Gazez.

47Estes foram os filhos de Jadai:

Regém, Jotão, Gesã, Pelete, Efá e Saafe.

48A concubina de Calebe, Maaca, teve dois filhos:

Seber e Tiraná.

49Ela também teve Saafe, pai de Madmana,

e Seva, pai de Macbena e de Gibeá.

A filha de Calebe chamava-se Acsa.

50Calebe teve também estes outros descendentes.

Os filhos de Hur, o filho mais velho de Efrate:

Sobal, fundador de Quiriate-Jearim, 51Salma, fundador de Belém, e Harefe, fundador de Bete-Gader.

52Os descendentes de Sobal, fundador de Quiriate-Jearim:

O povo de Haroé, metade dos manaatitas, 53e os clãs de Quiriate-Jearim: os itritas, os fateus, os sumateus e os misraeus. Desses descenderam os zoratitas e os estaoleus.

54Os descendentes de Salma:

O povo de Belém e de Atarote-Bete-Joabe, os netofatitas, metade dos manaatitas, os zoreus, 55e os clãs dos escribas2.55 Ou dos soferitas que viviam em Jabez: os tiratitas, os simeatitas e os sucatitas. Esses foram os queneus, descendentes de Hamate, antepassado da família de Recabe2.55 Ou Bete-Recabe.
