The Gold Lampstand and the Two Olive Trees
1Then the angel who talked with me returned and woke me up, like someone awakened from sleep. 2He asked me, “What do you see?”
I answered, “I see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl at the top and seven lamps on it, with seven channels to the lamps. 3Also there are two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.”
4I asked the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?”
5He answered, “Do you not know what these are?”
“No, my lord,” I replied.
6So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.
7“What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’ ”
8Then the word of the Lord came to me: 9“The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.
10“Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone4:10 Or the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel?”
11Then I asked the angel, “What are these two olive trees on the right and the left of the lampstand?”
12Again I asked him, “What are these two olive branches beside the two gold pipes that pour out golden oil?”
13He replied, “Do you not know what these are?”
“No, my lord,” I said.
14So he said, “These are the two who are anointed to4:14 Or two who bring oil and serve the Lord of all the earth.”

金の燭台と二本のオリーブの木（第五の幻）
1それから、話していた御使いが、私が眠っていたかのように私を呼び起こしました。 2「今、何が見えるか。」「七つのともしび皿がついた金の燭台です。てっぺんにオリーブ油をためる所があり、七本の管を通ってそれぞれの皿に油が流れ込みます。 3また、燭台の油タンクの両側に、オリーブの木が一本ずつ彫りつけてあるのが見えます。 4何でしょう。意味がわかりません。」 5「ほんとうに知らないのか。」「はい。知りません。」
6「これは、ゼルバベルへの神のことばだ。『権力によるのでも、能力によるのでもなく、わたしの霊によって』と全能の主が言われる。あなたがたは少数で、弱いが、わたしの霊のゆえにやり遂げることができる。 7だから、どんなに高い山が立ちはだかってもゼルバベルには何でもない。そして彼は、神のあわれみに大声で感謝しながらこの神殿を建て上げ、すべてが恵みによってのみ行われたと言うようになる。」
8私は主から次のような別のことばを示されました。 9「ゼルバベルは神殿の土台を据え、それを完成させる。その時あなたは、これらのことばが全能の主である神からのものであったことを知る。 10これを小さなことと考えてはならない。主はその仕事が始まり、ゼルバベルの手に重りをつけた糸があるの見て喜んでいる。七つのともしびは、世界中を見渡す主の目を表すからだ。」
11それから私は、燭台の両側にある二本のオリーブの木と、 12二本の管を通して油を金の鉢に注ぐ二本の枝のことを御使いに尋ねました。 13「あなたはこれが何か知らないのか。」「はい。」 14「それは、全地の主を助ける、二人の油を注がれた者を表す。」
