1Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
in the heavens.
2Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
3When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?8:4 Or what is a human being that you are mindful of him, / a son of man that you care for him?
5You have made them8:5 Or him a little lower than the angels8:5 Or than God
and crowned them8:5 Or him with glory and honor.
6You made them rulers over the works of your hands;

7all flocks and herds,

1Oh Señor, Soberano nuestro,
¡qué imponente es tu nombre en toda la tierra!
¡Has puesto tu gloria sobre los cielos!
2Con la alabanza que brota de los labios de los pequeñitos
y de los niños de pecho
has construido una fortaleza,
para silenciar al enemigo y al vengativo.
3Cuando contemplo tus cielos,
obra de tus dedos,
la luna y las estrellas que allí fijaste,
4me pregunto:
«¿Qué es el hombre para que en él pienses?
¿Qué es el hijo del hombre para que lo tomes en cuenta?».
5Lo hiciste poco menor que los ángeles8:5 que los ángeles. Alt. que los seres celestiales o que Dios.
y lo coronaste de gloria y de honra.
6Le diste dominio sobre la obra de tus manos;
todo lo pusiste bajo sus pies:
7todas las ovejas, todos los bueyes,
todos los animales del campo,
8las aves del cielo,
los peces del mar
y todo lo que surca los senderos del mar.
9Oh Señor, Soberano nuestro,
¡qué imponente es tu nombre en toda la tierra!
