Psalm 142In Hebrew texts 142:1-7 is numbered 142:2-8.
A maskilTitle: Probably a literary or musical term of David. When he was in the cave. A prayer.
1I cry aloud to the Lord;
I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy.
2I pour out before him my complaint;
before him I tell my trouble.
3When my spirit grows faint within me,
it is you who watch over my way.
In the path where I walk
people have hidden a snare for me.
4Look and see, there is no one at my right hand;
no one is concerned for me.
I have no refuge;
no one cares for my life.
5I cry to you, Lord;
I say, “You are my refuge,
my portion in the land of the living.”
6Listen to my cry,
for I am in desperate need;
rescue me from those who pursue me,
for they are too strong for me.
7Set me free from my prison,
that I may praise your name.
Then the righteous will gather about me
because of your goodness to me.
Salmo 142
Poema de Davi, quando ele estava na caverna. Uma oração.
1Em alta voz clamo ao Senhor;
elevo a minha voz ao Senhor, suplicando misericórdia.
2Derramo diante dele o meu lamento;
a ele apresento a minha angústia.
3Quando o meu espírito desanima,
és tu quem conhece o caminho que devo seguir.
Na vereda por onde ando
esconderam uma armadilha contra mim.
4Olha para a minha direita e vê;
ninguém se preocupa comigo.
Não tenho abrigo seguro;
ninguém se importa com a minha vida.
5Clamo a ti, Senhor, e digo:
Tu és o meu refúgio;
és tudo o que tenho na terra dos viventes.
6Dá atenção ao meu clamor,
pois estou muito abatido;
livra-me dos que me perseguem,
pois são mais fortes do que eu.
7Liberta-me da prisão,
e renderei graças ao teu nome.
Então os justos se reunirão à minha volta
por causa da tua bondade para comigo.
