Psalm 136
1Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
2Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
3Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.
4to him who alone does great wonders,
His love endures forever.
5who by his understanding made the heavens,
His love endures forever.
6who spread out the earth upon the waters,
His love endures forever.
7who made the great lights—
His love endures forever.
8the sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever.
9the moon and stars to govern the night;
His love endures forever.
10to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt
His love endures forever.
11and brought Israel out from among them
His love endures forever.
12with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
His love endures forever.
13to him who divided the Red Sea136:13 Or the Sea of Reeds; also in verse 15 asunder
His love endures forever.
14and brought Israel through the midst of it,
His love endures forever.
15but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
His love endures forever.
16to him who led his people through the wilderness;
His love endures forever.
17to him who struck down great kings,

18and killed mighty kings—

19Sihon king of the Amorites

20and Og king of Bashan—

21and gave their land as an inheritance,

22an inheritance to his servant Israel.

23He remembered us in our low estate

24and freed us from our enemies.

25He gives food to every creature.

1У рек Вавилона мы сидели и плакали,
когда вспоминали Сион.
2Там на вербах
мы повесили наши арфы.
3Там пленившие нас требовали от нас песен,
притеснители наши требовали от нас веселья,
говоря: «Спойте нам одну из песен Сиона».
4Как нам петь песнь Вечного
в чужой земле?
5Если я забуду тебя, Иерусалим,
то пусть отнимется моя правая рука.
6Пусть прилипнет язык мой к нёбу,
если не буду помнить тебя,
если не будет Иерусалим
моей самой большой радостью.
7Не забывай, Вечный, что делали эдомитяне
в день захвата вавилонянами Иерусалима,
как они говорили: «Разрушайте,
разрушайте его до основания!»
8Дочь Вавилона136:8 Дочь Вавилона – олицетворение Вавилона., обречённая на разорение!
Благословен тот, кто воздаст тебе
за то, что ты сделала с нами.
9Благословен тот, кто возьмёт и разобьёт
твоих младенцев о камень.
