2Lord, I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.
Repeat them in our day,
in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy.
3God came from Teman,
the Holy One from Mount Paran.3:3 The Hebrew has Selah (a word of uncertain meaning) here and at the middle of verse 9 and at the end of verse 13.
His glory covered the heavens
and his praise filled the earth.
4His splendor was like the sunrise;
rays flashed from his hand,
where his power was hidden.
5Plague went before him;
pestilence followed his steps.
6He stood, and shook the earth;
he looked, and made the nations tremble.
The ancient mountains crumbled
and the age-old hills collapsed—
but he marches on forever.
7I saw the tents of Cushan in distress,
the dwellings of Midian in anguish.
8Were you angry with the rivers, Lord?
Was your wrath against the streams?
Did you rage against the sea
when you rode your horses
and your chariots to victory?
9You uncovered your bow,
you called for many arrows.
You split the earth with rivers;
10the mountains saw you and writhed.
Torrents of water swept by;
the deep roared
and lifted its waves on high.
11Sun and moon stood still in the heavens
at the glint of your flying arrows,
at the lightning of your flashing spear.
12In wrath you strode through the earth
and in anger you threshed the nations.
13You came out to deliver your people,
to save your anointed one.
You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness,
you stripped him from head to foot.
14With his own spear you pierced his head
when his warriors stormed out to scatter us,
gloating as though about to devour
the wretched who were in hiding.
15You trampled the sea with your horses,
churning the great waters.
16I heard and my heart pounded,
my lips quivered at the sound;
decay crept into my bones,
and my legs trembled.
Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity
to come on the nation invading us.
17Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
18yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
19The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.

دعای پيروزی حبقوق
1اين است دعای حبقوق نبی:
2ای خداوند، خبری را كه به من دادی شنيدم و برای كارهايی كه بزودی انجام خواهی داد با ترس و احترام تو را پرستش می‌كنم. دوباره مثل سالهای گذشته قدرت خود را به ما نشان ده تا نجات يابيم و در حين غضب خود، رحمت را به ياد آور.
3خدا را می‌بينم كه از كوه سينا می‌آيد. جلالش آسمانها را در بر گرفته و زمين از حمد و سپاس او پر است! 4درخشش او مانند طلوع خورشيد است و از دستهای او كه قدرتش در آنها نهفته است، نور می‌تابد. 5او مرض را پيشاپيش خود می‌فرستد و به مرگ فرمان می‌دهد كه به دنبال او بيايد. 6وقتی او می‌ايستد زمين تكان می‌خورد و هنگامی كه نگاه می‌كند، قومها می‌لرزند. كوههای ازلی خرد می‌شوند و تپه‌های ابدی با خاک يكسان می‌گردند. قدرت او بی‌زوال است. 7مردمان كوشان3:7 «ثروت آنها به اين خانه سرازير می‌شود» يا «آرزوی آنها به اين خانه خواهد آمد». جملهٔ دوم، به نظر برخی مفسرين اشاره است به ظهور مسيح موعود. و مديان را می‌بينم كه دچار ترس و اضطراب شده‌اند.
8خداوندا، آيا تو بر رودخانه‌ها و دريا خشمگين بودی كه بر اسبان و عرابه‌هايت سوار شدی؟ نه، تو برای پيروزی قومت اين كار را كردی. 9تو كمان را به دست گرفته، تيرها را آماده كردی و صاعقه را فرستاده زمين را شكافتی. 10كوهها تو را ديدند و به لرزه افتادند و سيلابها جاری شدند. آبهای عميق طغيان كردند و امواجشان بالا آمدند. 11از نور تيرهايت و از برق نيزه‌های درخشانت خورشيد و ماه ايستادند. 12با غضب جهان را پيمودی و قومها را زير پای خود لگدمال كردی. 13تو برای نجات قوم برگزيدهٔ خود برخاستی و رهبر شروران را نابود كردی، پيروانش را از بين بردی. 14آنها مثل گردباد بيرون آمده، خيال كردند اسرائيل به آسانی به چنگشان می‌افتد، ولی تو با سلاحهای خودشان آنها را نابود كردی. 15با اسبان خود از دريا عبور كردی و آبهای نيرومند را زير پا نهادی.
16وقتی اينها را می‌شنوم، می‌ترسم و لبهايم می‌لرزند. بدنم بی‌حس و زانوانم سست می‌گردند. انتظار روزی را می‌كشم كه خدا قومی را كه بر ما هجوم می‌آورد مجازات كند.
17هر چند درخت انجير شكوفه ندهد و درخت انگور ميوه نياورد، هر چند محصول زيتون از بين برود و زمينها باير بمانند، هر چند گله‌ها در صحرا بميرند و آغلها از حيوانات خالی شوند، 18اما من شاد و خوشحال خواهم بود، زيرا خداوند نجات دهندهٔ من است. 19او به من قوت می‌دهد تا مانند آهو بدوم و از صخره‌های بلند، بالا بروم.
