God’s Sure Judgment on Jerusalem
1Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the Lord that faces east. There at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people. 2The Lord said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who are plotting evil and giving wicked advice in this city. 3They say, ‘Haven’t our houses been recently rebuilt? This city is a pot, and we are the meat in it.’ 4Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, son of man.”
5Then the Spirit of the Lord came on me, and he told me to say: “This is what the Lord says: That is what you are saying, you leaders in Israel, but I know what is going through your mind. 6You have killed many people in this city and filled its streets with the dead.
7“Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: The bodies you have thrown there are the meat and this city is the pot, but I will drive you out of it. 8You fear the sword, and the sword is what I will bring against you, declares the Sovereign Lord. 9I will drive you out of the city and deliver you into the hands of foreigners and inflict punishment on you. 10You will fall by the sword, and I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord. 11This city will not be a pot for you, nor will you be the meat in it; I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. 12And you will know that I am the Lord, for you have not followed my decrees or kept my laws but have conformed to the standards of the nations around you.”
13Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out in a loud voice, “Alas, Sovereign Lord! Will you completely destroy the remnant of Israel?”
The Promise of Israel’s Return
14The word of the Lord came to me: 15“Son of man, the people of Jerusalem have said of your fellow exiles and all the other Israelites, ‘They are far away from the Lord; this land was given to us as our possession.’
16“Therefore say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.’
17“Therefore say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.’
18“They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols. 19I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. 20Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. 21But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord.”
22Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, spread their wings, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them. 23The glory of the Lord went up from within the city and stopped above the mountain east of it. 24The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the exiles in Babylonia11:24 Or Chaldea in the vision given by the Spirit of God.
Then the vision I had seen went up from me, 25and I told the exiles everything the Lord had shown me.
Silotan sa Dios ang Jerusalem
1Gibayaw ako sa Espiritu ug gidala ngadto sa pultahan sa templo sa Ginoo nga nagaatuban nga sa sidlakan. Didto sa pultahan may 25 ka mga tawo, ug ang duha kanila mao si Jaazania nga anak ni Azur, ug si Pelatia nga anak ni Benaya—nga mga pangulo sa katawhan. 2Miingon ang Ginoo kanako, “Tawo, mao kini sila ang mga nagplano ug daotan ug nagahatag ug dili maayo nga tambag dinhi sa siyudad. 3Nagaingon sila, ‘Maayo kini nga panahon sa pagpatindog ug mga balay. Walay manghilabot kanato. Ang atong siyudad sama sa kaldero ug kita sama sa karne nga anaa sa sulod niini, dili kita maunsa.’ 4Busa tawo, ipropesiya batok kanila.”
5Unya gigamhan ako sa Espiritu sa Ginoo ug giingnan niya ako nga isulti kini: “Mao kini ang giingon sa Ginoo kaninyo, katawhan sa Israel, ‘Nahibalo ako kon unsa ang inyong ginahunahuna. 6Daghan ang inyong gipamatay niini nga siyudara ug nagkatag lang ang mga patay nga lawas sa kadalanan. 7Busa ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, moingon kaninyo: Tinuod nga kini nga siyudara sama sa kaldero, apan ang mga patay nga lawas nga gikatag ninyo sa siyudad mao ang karne.11:7 karne: Maingon nga ang karne mao ang maayo nga bahin sa mananap, ang mga inosente nga mga tawo nga gipamatay mao ang maayo nga bahin sa nasod. Ug kamo abugon ko gikan niini nga siyudara. 8Nahadlok kamo sa gubat,11:8 gubat: sa literal, espada. apan pasulongon ko kaninyo ang inyong mga kaaway. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang nagaingon niini. 9Abugon ko kamo gikan niini nga siyudara ug ipabihag sa mga langyaw, ug silotan ko kamo pinaagi kanila. 10Mangamatay kamo sa gubat sa akong pagsilot kaninyo didto sa utlanan sa Israel. Unya mahibaloan ninyo nga ako mao ang Ginoo. 11Kini nga siyudara dili mahimo nga sama sa kaldero alang kaninyo, ug kamo dili mahimo nga sama sa karne sulod niini. Kay silotan ko kamo didto sa utlanan sa Israel. 12Unya mahibaloan ninyo nga ako mao ang Ginoo. Himuon ko kini kay wala kamo motuman sa akong mga tulumanon ug mga lagda. Ang mga lagda hinuon sa uban nga mga nasod ang inyong gituman.’ ”
13Unya samtang nagasulti ako sa mensahe sa Dios, namatay si Pelatia nga anak ni Benaya. Unya mihapa ako ug misinggit sa makusog, “O Ginoo nga Dios, hutdon mo ba gyud ug laglag ang nahibilin nga mga Israelinhon?” 14Miingon ang Ginoo kanako, 15“Tawo, ang mga katawhan nga nahibilin sa Jerusalem nagsulti ug ingon niini mahitungod sa ilang mga kadugo nga binihag: ‘Halayo sila sa Ginoo, ug kini nga yutaa gihatag na sa Ginoo kanato aron atong panag-iyahan.’
16“Busa ingna ang kauban mo nga mga binihag nga ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon, ‘Bisag gipabihag ko kamo ug gikatag ngadto sa uban nga mga kanasoran, ang akong presensya anaa gihapon uban kaninyo nianang mga lugara. 17Busa ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon nga tigomon ko kamo pagbalik gikan sa mga nasod diin kamo nagkatag, ug ihatag ko pag-usab kaninyo ang yuta sa Israel. 18Sa inyong pagbalik sa inyong dapit, wagtangon ninyo ang tanang mangil-ad nga mga dios-dios. 19Bag-ohon ko ang inyong kasingkasing ug ang inyong hunahuna. Kuhaon ko ang kagahi sa inyong kasingkasing ug hatagan ko kamo ug kasingkasing nga masinugtanon kanako. 20Tumanon na ninyo ang akong mga sugo ug mga pagtulon-an. Mahimo kamo nga akong katawhan, ug ako mahimo nga inyong Dios. 21Apan kadtong nagasimba sa ilang mangil-ad nga mga dios-dios, silotan ko sumala sa ilang binuhatan. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang nagaingon niini.’ ”
22Unya milupad ang mga cherubim uban ang mga ligid sa kilid nila, ug ang gamhanan nga presensya sa Dios sa Israel anaa ibabaw kanila. 23Unya mikawan ang gamhanan nga presensya sa Ginoo gikan sa siyudad, ug nagpundo sa bukid sa sidlakang bahin sa siyudad. 24Unya nakita ko sa panan-awon nga gihatag kanako sa Espiritu sa Dios nga gibayaw niya ako ug gidala balik ngadto sa mga binihag sa Babylon. Ug unya nahanaw ang panan-awon nga akong nakita. 25Unya gisuginlan ko ang mga binihag sa tanang gipakita sa Ginoo kanako.
