The Passover
1Observe the month of Aviv and celebrate the Passover of the Lord your God, because in the month of Aviv he brought you out of Egypt by night. 2Sacrifice as the Passover to the Lord your God an animal from your flock or herd at the place the Lord will choose as a dwelling for his Name. 3Do not eat it with bread made with yeast, but for seven days eat unleavened bread, the bread of affliction, because you left Egypt in haste—so that all the days of your life you may remember the time of your departure from Egypt. 4Let no yeast be found in your possession in all your land for seven days. Do not let any of the meat you sacrifice on the evening of the first day remain until morning.
5You must not sacrifice the Passover in any town the Lord your God gives you 6except in the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name. There you must sacrifice the Passover in the evening, when the sun goes down, on the anniversary16:6 Or down, at the time of day of your departure from Egypt. 7Roast it and eat it at the place the Lord your God will choose. Then in the morning return to your tents. 8For six days eat unleavened bread and on the seventh day hold an assembly to the Lord your God and do no work.
The Festival of Weeks
9Count off seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain. 10Then celebrate the Festival of Weeks to the Lord your God by giving a freewill offering in proportion to the blessings the Lord your God has given you. 11And rejoice before the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name—you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, the Levites in your towns, and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows living among you. 12Remember that you were slaves in Egypt, and follow carefully these decrees.
The Festival of Tabernacles
13Celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles for seven days after you have gathered the produce of your threshing floor and your winepress. 14Be joyful at your festival—you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levites, the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns. 15For seven days celebrate the festival to the Lord your God at the place the Lord will choose. For the Lord your God will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete.
16Three times a year all your men must appear before the Lord your God at the place he will choose: at the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks and the Festival of Tabernacles. No one should appear before the Lord empty-handed: 17Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you.
Judges
18Appoint judges and officials for each of your tribes in every town the Lord your God is giving you, and they shall judge the people fairly. 19Do not pervert justice or show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the innocent. 20Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the Lord your God is giving you.
Worshiping Other Gods
21Do not set up any wooden Asherah pole beside the altar you build to the Lord your God, 22and do not erect a sacred stone, for these the Lord your God hates.
A Páscoa
1“Observem o mês de abibe16.1 Aproximadamente março/abril. e celebrem a Páscoa do Senhor, o seu Deus, pois no mês de abibe, de noite, ele os tirou do Egito. 2Ofereçam como sacrifício da Páscoa ao Senhor, o seu Deus, um animal dos rebanhos de bois ou de ovelhas, no local que o Senhor escolher para habitação do seu Nome. 3Não o comam com pão fermentado, mas durante sete dias comam pães sem fermento, o pão da aflição, pois foi às pressas que vocês saíram do Egito, para que todos os dias da sua vida vocês se lembrem da época em que saíram do Egito. 4Durante sete dias não permitam que seja encontrado fermento com vocês em toda a sua terra. Tampouco permitam que alguma carne sacrificada à tarde do primeiro dia permaneça até a manhã seguinte.
5“Não ofereçam o sacrifício da Páscoa em nenhuma das cidades que o Senhor, o seu Deus, der a vocês; 6sacrifiquem-na apenas no local que ele escolher para habitação do seu Nome. Ali vocês oferecerão o sacrifício da Páscoa à tarde, ao pôr do sol, na data16.6 Ou hora da sua partida do Egito. 7Vocês cozinharão a carne do animal e a comerão no local que o Senhor, o seu Deus, escolher. E, pela manhã, cada um de vocês voltará para a sua tenda. 8Durante seis dias comam pão sem fermento e no sétimo dia façam uma assembleia em honra ao Senhor, o seu Deus; não façam trabalho algum.
A Festa das Semanas
9“Contem sete semanas a partir da época em que vocês começarem a colheita do cereal. 10Celebrem então a festa das semanas16.10 Isto é, do Pentecoste; também no versículo 16. ao Senhor, o seu Deus, e tragam uma oferta voluntária conforme as bênçãos recebidas do Senhor, o seu Deus. 11E alegrem-se perante o Senhor, o seu Deus, no local que ele escolher para habitação do seu Nome, junto com os seus filhos e as suas filhas, os seus servos e as suas servas, os levitas que vivem na sua cidade, os estrangeiros, os órfãos e as viúvas que vivem com vocês. 12Lembrem-se de que vocês foram escravos no Egito e obedeçam fielmente a estes decretos.
A Festa das Cabanas
13“Celebrem também a festa das cabanas16.13 Ou dos tabernáculos; hebraico: sucote; também no versículo 16. durante sete dias, depois que ajuntarem o produto da eira e do tanque de prensar uvas. 14Alegrem-se nessa festa com os seus filhos e as suas filhas, os seus servos e as suas servas, os levitas, os estrangeiros, os órfãos e as viúvas que vivem na sua cidade. 15Durante sete dias celebrem a festa, dedicada ao Senhor, o seu Deus, no local que o Senhor escolher. Pois o Senhor, o seu Deus, os abençoará em toda a sua colheita e em todo o trabalho de suas mãos, e a sua alegria será completa.
16“Três vezes por ano todos os seus homens se apresentarão ao Senhor, o seu Deus, no local que ele escolher, por ocasião da festa dos pães sem fermento, da festa das semanas e da festa das cabanas. Nenhum deles deverá apresentar-se ao Senhor de mãos vazias: 17cada um de vocês trará uma dádiva conforme as bênçãos recebidas do Senhor, o seu Deus.
Os Juízes e suas Funções
18“Nomeiem juízes e oficiais para cada uma de suas tribos em todas as cidades que o Senhor, o seu Deus, dá a vocês, para que eles julguem o povo com justiça. 19Não pervertam a justiça nem mostrem parcialidade. Não aceitem suborno, pois o suborno cega até os sábios16.19 Ou juízes e prejudica a causa dos justos. 20Sigam única e exclusivamente a justiça, para que tenham vida e tomem posse da terra que o Senhor, o seu Deus, dá a vocês.
Advertência contra a Idolatria
21“Não ergam nenhum poste sagrado além do altar que construírem em honra ao Senhor, o seu Deus, 22e não levantem nenhuma coluna sagrada, pois isto é detestável para o Senhor, o seu Deus.
