The One Place of Worship
1These are the decrees and laws you must be careful to follow in the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given you to possess—as long as you live in the land. 2Destroy completely all the places on the high mountains, on the hills and under every spreading tree, where the nations you are dispossessing worship their gods. 3Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and burn their Asherah poles in the fire; cut down the idols of their gods and wipe out their names from those places.
4You must not worship the Lord your God in their way. 5But you are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name there for his dwelling. To that place you must go; 6there bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, what you have vowed to give and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks. 7There, in the presence of the Lord your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the Lord your God has blessed you.
8You are not to do as we do here today, everyone doing as they see fit, 9since you have not yet reached the resting place and the inheritance the Lord your God is giving you. 10But you will cross the Jordan and settle in the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, and he will give you rest from all your enemies around you so that you will live in safety. 11Then to the place the Lord your God will choose as a dwelling for his Name—there you are to bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, and all the choice possessions you have vowed to the Lord. 12And there rejoice before the Lord your God—you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levites from your towns who have no allotment or inheritance of their own. 13Be careful not to sacrifice your burnt offerings anywhere you please. 14Offer them only at the place the Lord will choose in one of your tribes, and there observe everything I command you.
15Nevertheless, you may slaughter your animals in any of your towns and eat as much of the meat as you want, as if it were gazelle or deer, according to the blessing the Lord your God gives you. Both the ceremonially unclean and the clean may eat it. 16But you must not eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water. 17You must not eat in your own towns the tithe of your grain and new wine and olive oil, or the firstborn of your herds and flocks, or whatever you have vowed to give, or your freewill offerings or special gifts. 18Instead, you are to eat them in the presence of the Lord your God at the place the Lord your God will choose—you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levites from your towns—and you are to rejoice before the Lord your God in everything you put your hand to. 19Be careful not to neglect the Levites as long as you live in your land.
20When the Lord your God has enlarged your territory as he promised you, and you crave meat and say, “I would like some meat,” then you may eat as much of it as you want. 21If the place where the Lord your God chooses to put his Name is too far away from you, you may slaughter animals from the herds and flocks the Lord has given you, as I have commanded you, and in your own towns you may eat as much of them as you want. 22Eat them as you would gazelle or deer. Both the ceremonially unclean and the clean may eat. 23But be sure you do not eat the blood, because the blood is the life, and you must not eat the life with the meat. 24You must not eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water. 25Do not eat it, so that it may go well with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is right in the eyes of the Lord.
26But take your consecrated things and whatever you have vowed to give, and go to the place the Lord will choose. 27Present your burnt offerings on the altar of the Lord your God, both the meat and the blood. The blood of your sacrifices must be poured beside the altar of the Lord your God, but you may eat the meat. 28Be careful to obey all these regulations I am giving you, so that it may always go well with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is good and right in the eyes of the Lord your God.
29The Lord your God will cut off before you the nations you are about to invade and dispossess. But when you have driven them out and settled in their land, 30and after they have been destroyed before you, be careful not to be ensnared by inquiring about their gods, saying, “How do these nations serve their gods? We will do the same.” 31You must not worship the Lord your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the Lord hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.
32See that you do all I command you; do not add to it or take away from it.12:32 In Hebrew texts this verse (12:32) is numbered 13:1.

1“Amo ini ang mga sugo kag mga pagsulundan nga kinahanglan nga tumanon ninyo sing maayo samtang nagakabuhi kamo didto sa duta nga ginahatag sa inyo sang Ginoo, ang Dios sang inyo mga katigulangan. 2Kon palayason na ninyo ang mga katawhan nga nagaestar didto, panggub-a ninyo sing bug-os ang tanan nga lugar nga ginasimbahan nila sang ila mga dios-dios sa mga mataas kag manubo nga mga bukid kag sa idalom sang madabong nga mga kahoy. 3Panggub-a ninyo ang ila mga halaran, pangdugmuka ang ila handumanan nga mga bato, pangsunuga ang ila mga hulohaligi nga simbolo sang diosa nga si Ashera, kag panggub-a ang imahen sang ila mga dios agod malimtan na ini sa sina nga mga lugar.
4“Indi ninyo pagsimbaha ang Ginoo nga inyo Dios pareho sa ila pamaagi sa pagsimba, 5kundi magdangop kamo sa Ginoo nga inyo Dios sa lugar nga iya pilion halin sa tanan nga teritoryo sang mga tribo sang Israel. Didto kamo magsimba sa Ginoo, kay amo ina ang lugar nga iya ginpili nga sa diin padunggan siya. 6Didto ninyo dal-on ang inyo mga halad nga ginasunog kag iban pa nga mga halad, ang inyo ikanapulo, ang inyo espesyal nga mga regalo, ang inyo mga ginpromisa nga ihalad, ang inyo kinabubut-on nga mga halad, kag ang kamagulangan sang inyo mga kasapatan. 7Didto kamo kag ang inyo pamilya magkaon sa presensya sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios, kag magakalipay kamo sa tanan nga inyo nahuman tungod kay ginpakamaayo kamo sang Ginoo.
8“Karon nagapagusto kamo sa inyo mga ginahimo, pero indi na ninyo paghimua ina 9kon mag-abot na kamo sa lugar nga sa diin makapahuway kamo. Ini nga lugar ginahatag sa inyo sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios bilang palanublion ninyo. 10Kon makatabok na kamo sa Jordan kag mag-estar sa duta nga ginahatag sa inyo sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios bilang palanublion ninyo, magakabuhi kamo nga malinong kay indi pagtugutan sang Ginoo nga tublagon kamo sang inyo mga kaaway sa palibot. 11Dayon dal-on ninyo ang inyo mga halad didto sa lugar nga pilion sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios nga sa diin padunggan siya. Amo ini ang mga halad nga ginasugo ko sa inyo: mga halad nga ginasunog kag ang iban pa nga mga halad, ang inyo ikanapulo, ang espesyal nga mga regalo, kag ang tanan nga pinakamaayo nga halad nga inyo ginpromisa sa Ginoo. 12Didto magkinalipay kamo sa presensya sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios, upod ang inyo mga kabataan, mga suluguon, kag ang mga Levita nga wala sing duta nga palanublion kundi nagaestar lang sa inyo mga banwa. 13Indi gid ninyo pag-ihalad ang inyo mga halad nga ginasunog sa bisan diin lang nga lugar nga gusto ninyo, 14kundi ihalad lang ini sa lugar nga pilion sang Ginoo sa isa ninyo ka tribo, kag didto himua ninyo ang tanan nga ginasugo ko sa inyo.
15“Puwede kamo makaihaw kag makakaon sang sapat sa bisan diin kamo nagaestar.12:15 Puwede kamo makaihaw kag makakaon sang sapat sa bisan diin kamo nagaestar: Ang buot silingon, ang mga sapat nga wala ginahalad. Magapagusto kamo kaon sang karne sini, pareho sang pagkaon ninyo sang usa kag sang gasela,12:15 gasela: sa English, gazelle, isa ka sapat nga daw pareho man sa usa. suno sa pagpakamaayo nga ginhatag sa inyo sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios. Ang tagsa ka tawo makakaon sini, ginakabig man siya nga mahigko ukon matinlo. 16Pero indi ninyo pagkaunon ang dugo; iula ninyo ini sa duta pareho sang tubig. 17Indi man ninyo pagkaunon o imnon ining mga masunod: ang ikanapulo sang inyo uyas, duga sang ubas, lana, ang kamagulangan sang inyo mga kasapatan, ang bisan ano nga inyo ginpromisa nga ihalad, ang inyo kinabubut-on nga mga halad kag mga regalo. 18Kundi kaunon lang ninyo ini sa presensya sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios didto sa lugar nga iya pilion upod sang inyo mga kabataan, mga suluguon, kag sang mga Levita nga nagaestar sa inyo mga banwa. Didto magkinalipay kamo sa presensya sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios sa tanan ninyo nga himuon. 19Indi gid ninyo pagpabay-i ang mga Levita samtang nagakabuhi kamo sa inyo duta.
20“Kon palaparon na sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios ang inyo teritoryo suno sa iya ginpromisa sa inyo, kag gusto ninyo magkaon sang karne, makapagusto kamo kaon. 21Kon malayo sa inyo ang lugar nga pilion sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios nga sa diin padunggan siya, puwede kamo makaihaw kag makakaon sang inyo mga baka ukon karnero sa inyo mismo mga lugar. Kag suno sa ginsugo ko sa inyo, makapagusto kamo kaon sang mga sapat nga ginhatag sang Ginoo sa inyo, 22pareho sang pagkaon ninyo sang gasela kag sang usa. Ang tagsa ka tawo makakaon sini, ginakabig man siya nga mahigko ukon matinlo. 23Basta siguraduhon lang ninyo nga indi ninyo pagkaunon ang dugo, kay ang kabuhi ara sa dugo. Indi ninyo pagkauna ang kabuhi upod sa karne. 24Sa baylo, iula ninyo ang dugo sa duta pareho sang tubig. 25Indi gid ninyo ini pagkaunon agod mangin maayo ang inyo kahimtangan kag sang inyo mga kaliwat, kay ang paglikaw sa pagkaon sang dugo maayo sa panulok sang Ginoo.
26“Basta dal-on lang ninyo sa lugar nga pilion sang Ginoo ang inyo balaan nga mga halad kag ang mga halad nga inyo ginpromisa sa iya. 27Ihalad ninyo ang karne sang inyo mga halad nga ginasunog sa halaran sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios. Sa iban ninyo nga mga halad kinahanglan man nga iula ninyo ang dugo sa halaran sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios, pero puwede ninyo kaunon ang karne. 28Tumana gid ninyo ining tanan nga pagsulundan nga ginahatag ko sa inyo, agod mangin maayo gid permi ang inyo kahimtangan kag sang inyo mga kaliwat hasta san-o, kay ang pagtuman sini maayo kag husto sa panulok sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios.
29“Ipalaglag sa inyo sang Ginoo nga inyo Dios ang mga nasyon nga inyo salakayon. Palayason ninyo ang mga pumuluyo sini kag estaran ang ila lugar. 30Kon malaglag na ninyo sila, maghalong kamo nga indi kamo masiod sa pagsunod sa ila. Indi kamo mag-usisa parte sa ila mga dios. Indi kamo magsiling, ‘Paano sila nagaalagad sa ila mga dios? Sundon man naton ang ila ginahimo.’ 31Indi gid ninyo paghimua ina sa pagsimba sa Ginoo nga inyo Dios, kay sa ila pagsimba ginahimo nila ang tanan nga klase sang makangilil-ad nga butang nga ginakaugtan sang Ginoo. Ginasunog pa gani nila ang ila mga kabataan bilang halad sa ila mga dios.
32“Tumana gid ninyo ang tanan nga ginasugo ko sa inyo. Indi ninyo ini pagdugangan ukon pagbuhinan.
