43These were the kings who reigned in Edom before any Israelite king reigned:

45When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites succeeded him as king.
46When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, succeeded him as king. His city was named Avith.
47When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah succeeded him as king.
48When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the river1:48 Possibly the Euphrates succeeded him as king.
49When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan son of Akbor succeeded him as king.
50When Baal-Hanan died, Hadad succeeded him as king. Timna, Alvah, Jetheth, 52Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon, 53Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, 54Magdiel and Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom.

17セムの子孫はエラム、アシュル、アルパクシャデ、ルデ、アラム、ウツ、フル、ゲテル、メシェク。
18アルパクシャデの子はシェラフ、シェラフの子はエベル。
19エベルの息子は、「分割」という意味のペレグ。彼の時代に、地上の人々が異なる言語ごとに分けられたからです。そして、もう一人はヨクタン。
20-23ヨクタンの子孫はアルモダデ、シェレフ、ハツァルマベテ、エラフ、ハドラム、ウザル、ディクラ、エバル、アビマエル、シェバ、オフィル、ハビラ、ヨバブ。
24-27こういうわけで、セムの子はアルパクシャデ、その子はシェラフ。以下、エベル、ペレグ、レウ、セルグ、ナホル、テラ、アブラム（のちにアブラハムと改名）と続きます。
アブラハムの子孫
28-31アブラハムの子はイサクとイシュマエル。
イシュマエルの子孫は次のとおり。長男ネバヨテ、ケダル、アデベエル、ミブサム、ミシュマ、ドマ、マサ、ハダデ、テマ、エトル、ナフィシュ、ケデマ。
32アブラハムがそばめケトラに産ませた子は、ジムラン、ヨクシャン、メダン、ミデヤン、イシュバク、シュアハ。
ヨクシャンの子はシェバとデダン。
33ミデヤンの子はエファ、エフェル、エノク、アビダ、エルダア。
以上は、そばめケトラによるアブラハムの子孫です。
34アブラハムの子イサクには、エサウとイスラエルという二人の子がいました。
エサウの子孫
35エサウの子はエリファズ、レウエル、エウシュ、ヤラム、コラ。
36エリファズの子はテマン、オマル、ツェフィ、ガタム、ケナズ、ティムナ、アマレク。
37レウエルの子はナハテ、ゼラフ、シャマ、ミザ。
38-39セイルの子はロタン、ショバル、ツィブオン、アナ、ディション、エツェル、ディシャン、ロタンの妹ティムナ。
ロタンの子はホリとホマム。
40ショバルの子はアルヤン、マナハテ、エバル、シェフィ、オナム。
ツィブオンの子はアヤとアナ。
41アナの子はディション。
ディションの子はハムラン、エシュバン、イテラン、ケラン。
42エツェルの子はビルハン、ザアワン、ヤアカン。

43イスラエル王国が誕生する前に、エドムの地を治めていた王は次のとおりです。
ディヌハバの町に住んでいた、ベオルの子ベラ。
44ベラが死んで、ボツラ出身のゼラフの子ヨバブが新しく王となりました。
45ヨバブが死ぬと、テマン人の地出身のフシャムが王になりました。
46フシャムが死ぬと、モアブの野でミデヤン軍を打ち破ったベダデの子ハダデが王となり、アビテの町で治めました。
47ハダデが死んで、マスレカの町出身のサムラが王座につきました。
48サムラが死んで、ユーフラテス河畔の町レホボテ出身のサウルが新しく王となりました。
49サウルが死ぬと、アクボルの子バアル・ハナンが王になりました。
50バアル・ハナンが死んで、ハダデが王となり、パイの町で治めました。彼の妻はマテレデの娘で、メ・ザハブの孫娘に当たるメヘタブエルでした。
51-54ハダデが死んだ時のエドムの首長たちは、次のとおりです。ティムナ、アルワ、エテテ、オホリバマ、エラ、ピノン、ケナズ、テマン、ミブツァル、マグディエル、イラム。
