A Vision of a Flying Scroll
1I looked up again and saw a flying scroll.
2“What do you see?” the angel asked me.
“A scroll flying in the air,” I replied. “It’s 30 feet long and 15 feet wide.”
3He said to me, “A curse sent by the Lord is written on it. It is going out over the whole land. Every thief will be driven out of the land. That is what it says on one side of the scroll. Everyone who lies when promising to tell the truth will also be driven out. That is what it says on the other side. 4The Lord who rules over all announces, ‘I will send the curse out. It will enter the house of the thief. It will also enter the house of anyone who lies when making a promise in my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely. It will pull down its beams and stones.’ ”
A Vision of a Woman in a Basket
5Then the angel who was talking with me came forward. He said to me, “Look at what is coming.”
6“What is it?” I asked.
“A basket,” he replied. “The sins of the people all through the land are in it.”
7Then the basket’s cover was lifted up. It was made out of lead. A woman was sitting in the basket! 8The angel said, “She stands for everything that is evil.” Then he pushed her down into the basket. He put the lead cover back over it.
9I looked up and saw two other women. They had wings like the wings of a stork. A wind sent by the Lord carried them along. They lifted the basket up between heaven and earth.
10“Where are they taking the basket?” I asked the angel.
11He replied, “To the country of Babylon. A temple will be built for it. When the temple is ready, the basket will be set there in its place.”

1Apoi, întorcându‑mă, mi‑am ridicat ochii, m‑am uitat și iată că era un sul care zbura1-2 În sensul că era desfăcut și flutura asemenea unui drapel, putând fi citit de oricine..
2Îngerul m‑a întrebat:
– Ce vezi?
Eu i‑am răspuns:
– Văd un sul care zboară. Acesta are o lungime de douăzeci de coți și o lățime de zece coți2 Aproximativ 10 m lungime și 5 m lățime..
3El mi‑a zis:
– Acesta este blestemul care pornește pe întinderea întregii țări, căci, așa cum este scris pe o parte a sulului, orice hoț va fi pedepsit, și, așa cum este scris pe cealaltă parte, oricine jură fals3-4 Probabil că hoția și sperjurul erau cele mai obișnuite păcate, reprezentative pentru starea generală de păcat a poporului. va fi pedepsit. 4„Îl voi trimite, zice Domnul Oștirilor, să intre în casa hoțului și în casa celui ce jură fals în Numele Meu. Va rămâne astfel în mijlocul casei lui și o va mistui împreună cu lemnele și cu pietrele ei.“
A șaptea viziune: femeia din efă
5Îngerul care vorbea cu mine a înaintat și mi‑a zis:
– Ridică‑ți acum ochii și privește la ceea ce apare!
6Eu am întrebat:
– Ce este aceasta?
El mi‑a zis:
– Ceea ce iese este o efă6-11 Vasul cu care se măsura o efă..
Apoi a zis:
– Aceasta este ochiul lor în toată țara.
7Atunci a fost ridicat capacul de plumb și acolo, în mijlocul efei, stătea o femeie.
8El a zis:
– Aceasta este Răutatea.
Apoi a împins‑o înapoi în efă și a aruncat greutatea de plumb peste gura efei.
9Mi‑am ridicat ochii, m‑am uitat și iată că ieșeau două femei în aripile cărora era vânt. Aripile lor erau ca aripile berzei. Ele au ridicat efa între pământ și ceruri.
10L‑am întrebat atunci pe îngerul care vorbea cu mine:
– Unde duc ele efa?
11El mi‑a răspuns:
– Se duc să‑i zidească o casă în țara Șinar11 Babilonia.. Când va fi gata, va fi așezată acolo, la locul ei.
