The Lord Will Take Care of Judah
1People of Judah, ask the Lord
to send rain in the spring.
He is the one who sends the thunderstorms.
He sends down showers of rain on all people.
He gives everyone the plants in the fields.
2Other gods tell lies.
Those who practice magic
see visions that aren’t true.
They tell dreams that fool people.
They give comfort that doesn’t do any good.
So the people wander around like sheep.
They are crushed because they don’t have a shepherd.
3The Lord who rules over all says,
“I am very angry with the shepherds.
I will punish the leaders.
The Lord will take care of his flock.
They are the people of Judah.
He will make them like a proud horse in battle.
4The most important building stone
will come from the tribe of Judah.
The tent stake will also come from it.
And the bow that is used in battle will come from it.
In fact, every ruler will come from it.
5Together they will be like warriors in battle.
They will stomp their enemies
into the mud of the streets.
The Lord will be with them.
So they will fight against the horsemen
and put them to shame.
6“I will make the family of Judah strong.
I will save the tribes of Joseph.
I will bring them back
because I have tender love for them.
It will be as if
I had not sent them away.
I am the Lord their God.
I will help them.
7The people of Ephraim will become like warriors.
Their hearts will be glad
as if they were drinking wine.
Their children will see it
and be filled with joy.
I will make their hearts glad.
8I will signal for my people to come,
and I will gather them in.
I will set them free.
There will be as many of them as before.
9I have scattered them among the nations.
But in lands far away they will remember me.
They and their children will be kept alive.
And they will return.
10I will bring them back from Egypt.
I will gather them from Assyria.
I will bring them to Gilead and Lebanon.
There will not be enough room for them.
11They will pass through a sea of trouble.
The stormy sea will calm down.
All the deep places in the Nile River will dry up.
Assyria’s pride will be brought down.
Egypt’s right to rule will disappear.
12I will make my people strong.
They will live in safety because of me,”
announces the Lord.
याहवेह यहूदिया की देखरेख करेंगे
1याहवेह से विनती करो कि वह वसन्त ऋतु में वर्षा भेजें;
यह याहवेह ही है जो बादलों को गरजाते और आंधी लाते है.
वह सब लोगों को वर्षा देते,
और हर एक के लिए खेत में पौधा उपजाते हैं.
2मूर्तियां धोखा देनेवाली बात कहते हैं,
और भावी कहनेवाले झूठे दर्शन देखते हैं;
वे झूठे स्वप्न के बारे में बताते हैं,
और वे व्यर्थ में सांत्वना देते हैं.
इसलिये चरवाहे की कमी के कारण दुःख से
लोग भेड़ की तरह भटकते हैं.
3“मेरा क्रोध चरवाहों पर भड़क रहा है,
ओर मैं अगुओं को दंड दूंगा;
क्योंकि सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह अपने झुंड
अर्थात् यहूदाह के लोगों की देखरेख करेगा,
और वह उन्हें युद्ध में गर्व करनेवाले घोड़े के समान बनाएगा.
4यहूदाह से कोने का पत्थर आयेगा,
उससे तंबू की खूंटी,
उससे युद्ध का धनुष,
और उससे ही हर एक शासक आएंगे.
5एक साथ वे युद्ध में उन योद्धाओं के समान होंगे,
जो गली के कीचड़ में अपने शत्रुओं को रौंदते हैं.
वे लड़ेंगे क्योंकि याहवेह उनके साथ है,
और वे शत्रु के घुड़सवारों को लज्जित करेंगे.
6“मैं यहूदाह के लोगों को मजबूत करूंगा
और योसेफ़ के वंश को बचाऊंगा.
उनके प्रति अपनी करुणा के कारण
मैं उन्हें लौटा ले आऊंगा.
वे ऐसे हो जाएंगे
मानो मैंने उन्हें कभी त्यागा ही न था,
क्योंकि मैं उनका परमेश्वर याहवेह हूं
इसलिये मैं उनकी सुनकर उन्हें उत्तर दूंगा.
7तब एफ्राईमी लोग योद्धा के समान हो जाएंगे,
उनका हृदय ऐसा प्रफुल्लित होगा, जैसा दाखमधु पीने से होता है.
उनके बच्चे इसे देखकर आनंदित होंगे;
और उनका मन याहवेह में आनंदित होगा.
8मैं उन्हें संकेत देकर
इकट्ठा करूंगा.
निश्चित रूप से, मैं उन्हें छुड़ाऊंगा;
वे पहले की तरह असंख्य हो जाएंगे.
9यद्यपि मैंने उन्हें लोगों के बीच में बिखरा दिया है,
फिर भी उन दूर देशों में वे मुझे स्मरण करेंगे.
वहां वे और उनकी संतान बचे रहेंगे,
और वे लौट आएंगे.
10मैं उन्हें मिस्र देश से लौटा लाऊंगा
और उन्हें अश्शूर देश से इकट्ठा करूंगा.
मैं उन्हें गिलआद और लबानोन देश में ले आऊंगा,
और उन्हें इतना बढ़ाऊंगा कि वहां उनके लिये पर्याप्त जगह न होगी.
11वे समस्याओं के समुद्र से होकर गुज़रेंगे;
समुद्र की बड़ी लहरें शांत कर दी जाएंगी
नील नदी का सब गहरा जल सूख जाएगा.
अश्शूरियों का घमंड तोड़ दिया जाएगा
और मिस्र का राजदंड जाता रहेगा.
12मैं उन्हें याहवेह में मजबूत करूंगा
और वे उसके नाम में सुरक्षित रहा करेंगे.”
याहवेह की यह घोषणा है.
