Psalm 91
1Whoever rests in the shadow of the Most High God
will be kept safe by the Mighty One.
2I will say about the Lord,
“He is my place of safety.
He is like a fort to me.
He is my God. I trust in him.”
3He will certainly save you from hidden traps
and from deadly sickness.
4He will cover you with his wings.
Under the feathers of his wings you will find safety.
He is faithful. He will keep you safe like a shield or a tower.
5You won’t have to be afraid of the terrors that come during the night.
You won’t have to fear the arrows that come at you during the day.
6You won’t have to be afraid of the sickness that attacks in the darkness.
You won’t have to fear the plague that destroys at noon.
7A thousand may fall dead at your side.
Ten thousand may fall near your right hand.
But no harm will come to you.
8You will see with your own eyes
how God punishes sinful people.
9Suppose you say, “The Lord is the one who keeps me safe.”
Suppose you let the Most High God be like a home to you.
10Then no harm will come to you.
No terrible plague will come near your tent.
11The Lord will command his angels
to take good care of you.
12They will lift you up in their hands.
Then you won’t trip over a stone.
13You will walk on lions and cobras.
You will crush mighty lions and poisonous snakes.
14The Lord says, “I will save the one who loves me.
I will keep him safe, because he trusts in me.
15He will call out to me, and I will answer him.
I will be with him in times of trouble.
I will save him and honor him.
16I will give him a long and full life.
I will save him.”
خداوند حافظ ماست
1آنكه به خدای قادر مطلق پناه می‌برد، زير سايهٔ او در امان خواهد بود. 2او به خداوند خواهد گفت «تو پناهگاه و خدای من هستی. من بر تو توكل دارم.»
3خداوند، تو را از هر دام خطرناک و بيماری كشنده خواهد رهانيد. 4او تو را در زير بالهای خود خواهد گرفت و از تو مراقبت خواهد كرد. وعده‌های امين او برای تو چون سلاح و سپر می‌باشد. 5-6از بلاهای شب نخواهی ترسيد و از حملات ناگهانی روز بيم نخواهی داشت. وبايی كه در تاريكی می‌خزد تو را نخواهد ترساند و طاعونی كه در روشنايی كشتار می‌كند تو را نخواهد هراساند. 7اگر هزار نفر در كنار تو بيفتند و ده هزار نفر در اطراف تو جان بسپارند، به تو آسيبی نخواهد رسيد. 8تنها با چشمان خود، خواهی نگريست و مجازات گناهكاران را خواهی ديد. 9-10هيچ بدی دامنگير تو نخواهد شد و بلايی بر خانهٔ تو سايه نخواهد افكند، زيرا تو به خداوند پناه برده‌ای و زير سايهٔ خدای قادر متعال به سر می‌بری. 11او به فرشتگان خود دستور می‌دهد تا به هر راهی كه بروی، از تو حمايت و محافظت كنند. 12آنها تو را روی دست خود خواهند گرفت تا پايت به سنگ نخورد. 13شير درنده و مار سمی را زير پا له خواهی كرد و آسيبی به تو نخواهد رسيد!
14خداوند می‌فرمايد: «آنانی را كه مرا دوست دارند، نجات خواهم داد و كسانی را كه مرا می‌شناسند، محافظت خواهم كرد. 15وقتی دعا كنند، دعايشان را مستجاب خواهم ساخت و چون در زحمت بيفتند، به كمک ايشان خواهم شتافت؛ آنها را خواهم رهانيد و سرافراز خواهم ساخت. 16به آنها عمر دراز خواهم بخشيد و نجاتشان خواهم داد.»
