Psalm 85
For the director of music. A psalm of the Sons of Korah.
1Lord, you were good to your land.
You blessed the people of Jacob with great success again.
2You forgave the evil things your people did.
You took away all their sins.
3You stopped being angry with them.
You turned your great anger away from them.
4God our Savior, make us new again.
Stop being unhappy with us.
5Will you be angry with us forever?
Will you be angry for all time to come?
6Won’t you give us new life again?
Then we’ll be joyful because of what you have done.
7Lord, show us your faithful love.
Save us.
8I will listen to what God the Lord says.
He promises peace to his faithful people.
But they must not turn to foolish ways.
9I know he’s ready to save those who have respect for him.
Then his glory can be seen in our land.
10God’s truth and faithful love join together.
His peace and holiness kiss each other.
11His truth springs up from the earth.
His holiness looks down from heaven.
12The Lord will certainly give what is good.
Our land will produce its crops.
13God’s holiness leads the way in front of him.
It prepares the way for his coming.

Salmo dos descendentes de Coré. Para o diretor do coro.
1Senhor, tu tens abençoado esta terra que é tua;
restauraste a prosperidade de Jacob.
2Perdoaste os pecados do teu povo;
sim, apagaste-os todos. (Pausa)
3A tua indignação terminou;
desviaste de nós o ardor da tua ira.
4Torna a trazer-nos de novo para junto de ti,
ó Deus, nosso Salvador,
para que não precises mais de estar contra nós.
5Ou ficarás para sempre zangado,
até mesmo com as gerações futuras?
6Dá-nos uma vida nova,
para que nos tornemos a alegrar em ti.
7Mostra-nos o teu amor e a tua bondade, Senhor;
concede-nos a tua salvação.
8Ouço atentamente tudo quanto Deus, o Senhor, diz;
fala de paz ao seu povo, aos que lhe pertencem,
desde que não voltem a pecar.
9Sem dúvida a salvação está perto daqueles que o temem;
a nossa terra se encherá da sua glória.
10A misericórdia e a verdade encontraram-se;
a justiça e a paz beijaram-se.
11A verdade sairá da Terra
e a justiça olhará desde os céus.
12O Senhor dará as suas bênçãos
e a terra produzirá abundantes colheitas.
13A justiça irá na sua frente,
preparando o caminho aberto pelos seus passos.
