Psalm 80
For the director of music. A psalm of Asaph to the tune of “The Lilies of the Covenant.”
1Shepherd of Israel, hear us.
You lead the people of Joseph like a flock.
You sit on your throne between the cherubim.
Show your glory
2to the people of Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh.
Call your strength into action.
Come and save us.
3God, make us new again.
May you be pleased with us.
Then we will be saved.
4Lord God, you rule over all.
How long will you be angry?
Will you be angry with your people even when they pray to you?
5You have given us tears as our food.
You have made us drink tears by the bowlful.
6You have let our neighbors mock us.
Our enemies laugh at us.
7God who rules over all, make us new again.
May you be pleased with us.
Then we will be saved.
8You brought Israel out of Egypt.
Israel was like a vine.
After you drove the nations out of Canaan,
you planted the vine in their land.
9You prepared the ground for it.
It took root and spread out over the whole land.
10The mountains were covered with its shade.
The shade of its branches covered the mighty cedar trees.
11Your vine sent its branches out all the way to the Mediterranean Sea.
They reached as far as the Euphrates River.
12Why have you broken down the walls around your vine?
Now all who pass by it can pick its grapes.
13Wild pigs from the forest destroy it.
Insects from the fields feed on it.
14God who rules over all, return to us!
Look down from heaven and see us!
Watch over your vine.
15Guard the root you have planted with your powerful right hand.
Take care of the branch you have raised up for yourself.
16Your vine has been cut down and burned in the fire.
You have been angry with us, and we are dying.
17May you honor the people at your right hand.
May you honor the nation you have raised up for yourself.
18Then we won’t turn away from you.
Give us new life. We will worship you.
19Lord God who rules over all, make us new again.
May you be pleased with us.
Then we will be saved.

Pentru dirijor. De cântat precum „Crinii mărturiei“. Al lui Asaf. Un psalm.
1Ia aminte, Păstor al lui Israel,
Tu, Care‑l conduci pe Iosif ca pe o turmă!
Tu, Care tronezi deasupra heruvimilor, strălucește
2peste Efraim, Beniamin și Manase!
Trezește‑Ți puterea
și vino în ajutorul nostru!
3Dumnezeule, adu‑ne înapoi!
Fă să strălucească fața Ta
și vom fi izbăviți!
4Doamne, Dumnezeul Oștirilor4 Ebr.: Elohim Țebaot. Vei nota de la Ps. 24:10.,
până când Te vei mai mânia
la auzul rugăciunii poporului Tău?
5Îi hrănești cu pâinea lacrimilor
și le dai să bea lacrimi din plin.
6Ne‑ai făcut un subiect de dispută pentru vecinii noștri,
iar dușmanii noștri râd între ei.
7Dumnezeu al Oștirilor, adu‑ne înapoi!
Fă să strălucească fața Ta
și vom fi izbăviți!
8Ai adus o vie din Egipt;
ai alungat neamuri și ai plantat‑o.
9Ai făcut loc înaintea ei,
iar ea a prins rădăcini și a umplut țara.
10Munții au fost acoperiți de umbra ei,
și cedrii lui Dumnezeu de ramurile ei.
11Își trimitea mlădițele până la mare11 Marea Mediterană.,
până la râu11 Eufratul. se întindeau vlăstarele ei.
12De ce i‑ai străpuns gardul
ca s‑o smulgă astfel toți cei ce trec pe drum?
13O râmă mistrețul din pădure
și o pasc fiarele câmpului.
14Dumnezeu al Oștirilor, întoarce‑Te, Te rog!
Privește din ceruri și ia aminte!
Cercetează via aceasta,
15rădăcina pe care a sădit‑o dreapta Ta
și fiul pe care l‑ai întărit pentru Tine!
16Este arsă de foc și tăiată.
Poporul Tău piere din cauza mustrării feței Tale.
17Mâna Ta să fie peste omul de la dreapta Ta,
peste fiul omului pe care l‑ai întărit pentru Tine!
18Atunci nu ne vom mai întoarce de la Tine!
Înviorează‑ne și vom chema Numele Tău!
19Doamne, Dumnezeul Oștirilor, adu‑ne înapoi!
Fă să strălucească fața Ta
și vom fi izbăviți!
