Psalm 7
A shiggaion of David. He sang it to the Lord about Cush, who was from the tribe of Benjamin.
1Lord my God, I go to you for safety.
Help me. Save me from all those who are chasing me.
2If you don’t, they will tear me apart as if they were lions.
They will rip me to pieces so that no one can save me.
3Lord my God, suppose I have done something wrong.
Suppose I am guilty.
4Or I have done evil to my friend.
Or I have robbed my enemy without any reason.
5Then let my enemy chase me and catch me.
Let him stomp me into the ground.
Let him bury me in the dust.
6Lord, rise up in your anger.
Rise up against the great anger of my enemies.
My God, wake up. Command that the right thing be done.
7Let all the people of the earth gather around you.
Rule over them from your throne in heaven.
8Lord, judge all people.
Lord, show that I have done what is right.
Most High God, remember that I am honest.
9God, you always do what is right.
You look deep down inside the hearts and minds of people.
Bring to an end the terrible things sinful people do.
Make godly people safe.
10The Most High God is like a shield that keeps me safe.
He saves those whose hearts are honest.
11God judges fairly.
He shows his anger every day.
12If evil people don’t change their ways,
God will sharpen his sword.
He will get his bow ready to use.
13He has prepared his deadly weapons.
He has made his flaming arrows ready.
14Whoever is full of evil
plans trouble and ends up telling lies.
15Whoever digs a hole and shovels it out
falls into the pit they have made.
16The trouble they cause comes back on them.
The terrible things they do will happen to them.
17I will give thanks to the Lord because he does what is right.
I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.
Psalmul 7
Un șiggaionTitlu. Termen cu sens nesigur, însemnând probabil o cântare cu un ritm foarte dinamic. Mai apare la începutul psalmului lui Habacuc (Hab. 3:1). al lui David, pe care el l‑a cântat Domnului din cauza cuvintelor beniamitului Cuș.
1Doamne, Dumnezeul meu, în Tine mă adăpostesc!
Izbăvește‑mă de toți prigonitorii mei, scapă‑mă,
2ca să nu‑mi sfâșie sufletul ca un leu,
să nu mă rupă în bucăți și să nu fie nimeni să mă scape!
3Doamne, Dumnezeul meu, dacă am săvârșit așa ceva,
dacă este fărădelege pe mâinile mele,
4dacă am răsplătit cu rău pe cel ce trăia în pace cu mine,
dacă mi‑am jefuit vrăjmașul pe nedrept,
5atunci fie ca dușmanul să‑mi urmărească sufletul
și să mă ajungă,
să‑mi calce viața în picioare
și să‑mi culce gloria5 Cu referire la suflet, cea mai nobilă parte a ființei umane. în țărână! Selah
6Ridică‑Te, Doamne, în mânia Ta,
scoală‑Te din cauza furiei dușmanilor mei,
trezește‑Te, Dumnezeul Meu, și poruncește o judecată!
7Adunarea popoarelor să Te înconjoare;
stăpânește asupra ei din înălțime!
8Să judece Domnul popoarele!
Judecă‑mă, Doamne,
fă‑mi după dreptatea și integritatea mea, o, Preaînalte8 Sau: integritatea mea, care este peste [în] mine.!
9Oprește răutatea celor răi
și întărește‑l pe cel drept,
Tu, Care cercetezi inimile și rărunchii,
Dumnezeule drept!
10Scutul meu este în Dumnezeu,
Mântuitorul celor cu inima cinstită.
11Dumnezeu este un judecător drept,
Dumnezeu Se mânie în fiecare zi.
12Pentru cel care nu se întoarce la Dumnezeu,
El Își ascute sabia,
Își încordează arcul și‑l țintește.
13Lui13 Pronumele se poate referi, fie la cel care nu se pocăiește, fie la arc. îi pregătește armele morții,
săgeți aprinse îi pregătește.
14Iată‑l pe cel ce naște nelegiuirea,
concepe necazul
și dă naștere înșelăciunii!
15Sapă o groapă, o adâncește
și cade tocmai el în adâncitura pe care a făcut‑o.
16Necazul pe care‑l pregătește se întoarce împotriva capului său,
iar violența lui coboară asupra creștetului său.
17Îi voi mulțumi Domnului pentru dreptatea Lui
și voi cânta spre lauda Numelui Domnului, Cel Preaînalt.
