Psalm 141
A psalm of David.
1I call out to you, Lord. Come quickly to help me.
Listen to me when I call out to you.
2May my prayer come to you like the sweet smell of incense.
When I lift up my hands in prayer, may it be like the evening sacrifice.
3Lord, guard my mouth.
Keep watch over the door of my lips.
4Don’t let my heart be drawn to what is evil.
Don’t let me join with people who do evil.
Don’t let me eat their fancy food.
5If a godly person hit me, it would be an act of kindness.
If they would correct me, it would be like pouring olive oil on my head.
I wouldn’t say no to it.
I will always pray against the things that sinful people do.
6When their rulers are thrown down from the rocky cliffs,
those evil people will realize that my words were true.
7They will say, “As clumps of dirt are left from plowing up the ground,
so our bones will be scattered near an open grave.”
8But Lord and King, I keep looking to you for help.
I go to you for safety. Don’t let me die.
9Keep me from the traps of those who do evil.
Save me from the traps they have set for me.
10Let evil people fall into their own nets.
But let me go safely on my way.

Saamu ti Dafidi.
1Olúwa, èmi ké pè ọ́; yára wá sí ọ̀dọ̀ mi.
Gbọ́ ohùn mi, nígbà tí mo bá ń ké pè ọ́.
2Jẹ́ kí àdúrà mi ó wá sí iwájú rẹ bí ẹbọ tùràrí
àti ìgbé ọwọ́ mi si òkè rí bí ẹbọ àṣálẹ́.
3Fi ẹ̀ṣọ́ ṣọ́ ẹnu mi, Olúwa:
kí o sì máa pa ìlẹ̀kùn ètè mi mọ́.
4Má ṣe jẹ́ kí ọkàn mi fà sí ohun tí ń ṣe ibi,
Láti máa bá àwọn tí ń ṣiṣẹ́ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ búburú
má sì ṣe jẹ́ kí èmi jẹ àdídùn wọn.
5Jẹ́ kí olódodo lù mí: ìṣeun ni ó jẹ́:
jẹ́ kí ó bá mi wí, ó jẹ́ òróró ní orí mi.
Tí kì yóò fọ́ mi ní orí.
Síbẹ̀ àdúrà mi wá láìsí ìṣe àwọn olùṣe búburú
6A ó ju àwọn alákòóso sílẹ̀ láti bẹ̀bẹ̀ òkúta,
àwọn ẹni búburú yóò kọ pé àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ mi dùn.
7Wọn yóò wí pé, “Bí ẹni tí ó la aporo sórí ilẹ̀,
bẹ́ẹ̀ ni egungun wa tànkálẹ̀ ní ẹnu isà òkú.”
8Ṣùgbọ́n ojú mi ń bẹ lára rẹ, Olúwa Olódùmarè;
nínú rẹ̀ ni èmi ti rí ààbò, má ṣe fà mi fún ikú.
9Pa mí mọ́ kúrò nínú okùn tí wọn ti dẹ sílẹ̀ fún mi,
kúrò nínú ìkẹ́kùn àwọn oníṣẹ́ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀.
10Jẹ́ kí àwọn ẹni búburú ṣubú sínú àwọ̀n ara wọn,
nígbà tí èmi bá kọjá lọ láìléwu.
